This spot is my go-to spot by UT for when I am craving some delicious tacos. For my order, I usually get two brisket tacos and one steak taco and it never fails to disappoint. In terms of the overall experience, if you haven't tried Cabo Bobs you are missing out because this place is the best and I am going to tell you why. No matter the day the staff are always friendly and are always give great recommendations if you want to try something new. Beware though sometimes the line can be long especially during peak eating times such as lunch/dinner but don't worry usually this place moves the line quickly. This place is along the same line as chipotle. It's build a bowl/ burrito but it has a few more toppings. There are several different sauces to choose from and their protein includes fish as well. The vibe is mostly young college folks. I ordered a bowl with chicken and it was good going down but I think it hurt my stomach later. Probably the sauce. I love this place. Cabo Bob's is the best burrito chain and for the price of about $7-$8 you really can't get anything better. It's seriously the best place around campus and the best bang for your buck. Food: Oh my god. They hand make their tortillas right in front of you, and they have a wide range of ingredients that you can't find anywhere else. You can't even compare it to Chipotle, Qdoba, or any other burrito place. You can choose from pork, steak, fish (which is bomb), and chicken among other options. Splash some lime juice with mango pico and you're all set! Service: Nothing out of the ordinary, but they sure don't question you if you pack your burrito with a lot of ingredients. Friendly staff. Hands down, the best burrito place around campus. It's not even a contest. The huge portions, the variety of options, the excellent choices for tortillas (cheddar tortilla?! Sign me up homie), and the many tvs, this place is the bomb. Only downside, the fact that its located in the far north of the drag. If it was located where the current Chipotle is on the drag, they will need a line manager outside the store. I almost always get the fish burrito every time I come. It's the absolute bomb! By far the best fish taco or burrito you will have. The pico de gallo with mango is super fresh and phenomenal. For $7, I definitely can't a find a better place that provides as much value. Cabo Bob's has been tasty each visit I've had. I have now tried a burrito, a bowl, and a quesadilla. The bowl in my opinion is definitely the best out of the three. This is also the only build-your-own place I would trust eating fish from (it's amazing). Ever since living in San Diego for 10 years prior to moving out to Austin, I've been in search of California style burritos/Mexican food and this place does not disappoint in the slightest! I've been here about 2 times so far but the level of customization on their burritos is incredible. Think chipotle but actually authentic and much more elevated! Last time I got the cilantro lime fresh pressed tortilla with grilled steak and all the fixings and I absolutely will be back to this establishment. They even have an outdoor patio for eating during these COVID times which I really appreciate. I've lived within a mile of this location of Cabo Bob's for the past 5 or so years and never thought to try this place even though plenty of people encouraged me to over the years. I ordered a chicken burrito online and within 2 minutes my food was ready - good thing I live so close! When I got to Cabo Bob's I parked in one of the curbside pickup spots and texted the number I was there. They were so fast that when I looked up from my phone, a staff member was already at my window with my food (... yes she scared me; yes I jumped...). Cabo Bob's made me feel like I was in burrito heaven. I have had terrible experiences with burritos in the past that either give me food poisoning or fall apart after a bite. My friend kept pushing me to go to this place and I finally agreed. Initially, when I came here I was planning on getting a rice bowl but when my friend ordered a burrito I saw that they made the burrito tortilla fresh on the press in front of us so I was like hmm maybe I'll give burritos another chance. I ordered the chicken burrito with sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, rice, and lettuce. This looked like a promising burrito and I was so excited to try it. The first bite did not disappoint. In that first bite, I could tell all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The chicken itself was 10x better than Chipotle's, which has always tasted weird to me and is sometimes cold. I couldn't finish it because it's giant!!! The day after I wanted to come back. This is a place that would be impossible to get tired of. I just wished I lived closer because it's a 30 minute walk from my dorm :((( All in all, I highly recommend this place to burrito lovers and burrito haters (like me in the past). The burritos are the size of a new born! This place is neat because they press the tortillas in front of you, and they let you pick the flavor of the tortilla. It has been said before, but perhaps not during a coronavirus shut down, Cabo Bob's is as good a Mexican restaurant as you will ever find. I went in yesterday to pick up an order made online. All the employees were wearing substantial masks and all the take out orders were well sealed and stapled. As always, the place is immaculate and the ambiance is friendly and cheerful. In the midst of this shut down there is even an optimistic defiance: everything will be made perfectly according to their high standards and the welcome each patron receives is as hearty as it is sincere. Many have praised the food to the heavens; something it well deserves. I got the deluxe fish tacos with cilantro lime, smoked cheddar and regular flour tortillas. WOW. I was happily surprised by the cheese one as I have never found anything like that before! My husband who got a brisket and queso burrito mentioned how this was his very first time in years where he enjoyed the tacos more than the burrito!! (And I'm talking about a #1 burrito fan who enjoys burritos just like a man enjoys Sunday football on his couch with a beer in hand). The restaurant may remind you of a Chipotle just because of how the choice of the ingredients is set up behind a glass for you to pick more easily. Unsung hero in Austin for a burrito bar. Cabo Bob's does not get enough credit, undermined by similar chain restaurants like Chipotle and Freebirds But Cabo Bob's blows them out of the water!!! Ingredients are extremely fresh and different from your typical choices with options such as the mango salsa and tomatillo sauce. No one else that I know of is doing crispy fish either, and they're doing it right. They do not skimp on the portions and burritos/bowls come out huge. Different flavored tortillas for you to choose from and are pressed fresh to each order. It is one of my new favorites in town, I only wish they had some more locations up North, and that they weren't closed on Sundays. Parking: There is a small parking lot right outside with probably ~10 spots. I've never had trouble finding parking. Atmosphere: Light-hearted, casual. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Service: The workers are usually pretty helpful and give generous scoops. Food: This is where the 5 stars comes in. First, you get to choose between 4 different types of tortillas, made fresh in front of your face. I'll usually get the Cilantro tortilla. Then, the meats. I personally LOVE getting the crispy fish (tilapia). Sometimes, I'll even get double fish portions!! If you come here and get these, add some chipotle mayo sauce to your burrito, and you are SET.
