Cable's worked with the realtors to pull a clear bait and switch. When we were buying this house we were shown one contract showing a new roof, with all of the areas covered with high quality roofing. What was provided was changed, with two areas not even being covered, with decking that was clearly inadequate being reused, and being promised that everything would be fixed. Needless to say nothing was fixed, and the con worked. I am guessing that my agent was getting kickbacks because she would not step up and the Cable's rep promised the world, but delivered typical East Texas, Smith County, failure to accept responsibility or be honest. This is a long review so, if you're only wondering if we recommend Cable's Roofing, the answer is a resounding YES! The February 11th hailstorm damaged every roof and gutter on our small farm.  Our house needed shingles and gutters and several other structures needed to have metal roofing replaced.  Rather than contacting different contractors we decided on Cable's Roofing to complete all the repairs.  We are so happy with that decision. We met with Tyler, the sales rep, and he explained the process and what to expect.  Tyler noticed an area of the shop that was damaged that my insurance adjuster missed.  Tyler worked with Kristi to submit a supplemental to have that area covered in the claim thereby saving us extra out of pocket expense.  Tyler is a true professional and is the liaison between the homeowner and the main office. I felt while he was a great representative for Cables', he was also truly interested in providing the best end result to me as the customer. Throughout the entire project, the Cables' team, and especially Lucy from the front office, kept me up to date on the schedule of repairs and any changes in the timeline due to weather. The individual contractors also contacted me prior to arriving and informed me on what I could expect each day.  Andrew, the onsite project manager for the roof, contacted me before shingles were delivered and also the day before the crew showed up to work on the roof.  I was extremely impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency of all involved in this project.MondayThe crew arrived and immediately got to work!  They put down heavy tarps to cover everything around the house such as landscaping, the generator, pool pump, filter and associated equipment, they even covered our pool!  Also, they covered our garage door and every window not under a porch with plywood for protection during the removal process.  The crew worked continuously and by mid-morning they had the damaged shingles off and started installing the new roof. Meanwhile, Lauro and his crew got busy working on the shop and outbuildings. Unfortunately the weather forecast changed during the first day of the project, and the possibility of rain and thunderstorms required the crew to change their two-day plan.   Andrew and his crew, using flashlights, worked well past sunset to get our home dried in before the storm.  Incredible!  Thank you!Tuesday  After staying late Monday night,  Andrew and crew arrived before sunrise to finish up.  By mid-day the roof was done.  Although clean up was ongoing during the roof installation, it was now their main focus.  Having taken the time to put down all the protective tarps and plywood, nothing was damaged during this project.  With the main portion of the roofing complete, Andrew now focused on the small but important details, this is where he shines!  He thoroughly inspected the new roof, directing his crew to areas that required more attention.  Later in the day, Andrew had me up on the roof to go over what was done and asked if I had any questions or if there were areas that needed fixing.  It all looked great to me.  With most of his crew now gone, Andrew stayed behind to ensure our place was back to pre-construction condition.  He made sure there was no trash or construction material left behind.   I am writing this review several days after the roof replacement and we have not found any trash or debris left behind.  Nothing!   While all that was happening to the house, Lauro and his crew removed and neatly stacked the old, damaged metal from the shop and other structures.  This was extra work for them but my plan is to repurpose any metal not severely damaged by the hail.  Having a small farm, this material will come in quite handy, thank you Lauro!  By the end of the day Lauro's crew had all the roof and trim pieces installed, the shop is 40' X 60' so this was a big repair.  The crew did a great job, especially cutting and fitting the metal around my AC unit and exterior plumbing pipes.  The shop looks new!Friday The last part of our repairs were replacing the gutters on the house and shop.  Derric, the owner of Hardy Gutter Systems and his team came out today and installed our new gutters and downspouts.  The crew worked all day and did a fantastic job!  Derric is a former Marine and has an eye for detail; the gutters and downspouts were professionally installed and the crew left no construction debris behind.  Thanks Derric! Once again, throughout the entire process the office staff, Lucy, Gracie, and Kristi kept us informed and updated on changes to the schedule and any correspondence with our insurance company. I also want to mention Todd from Holiday Metal who replaced our chimney caps and chase cover.  Todd is friendly and professional who takes pride in his craft.  Thank you Todd. I am giving Cable's 2 stars because they were always pleasant when speaking to them. Other than that, I am deeply disappointed in this company. September 2018, I had repairs done to fix a leak in my roof. After paying for the service, I was told that I would receive something stating that the repairs were under warranty. I never received anything. I called back a few weeks ago because I have a leak again in the same spot. When speaking to Kim, she said that she could not bring up anything in their system regarding them doing repairs. I could not remember the exact date and did not have an invoice for payment as I paid over the phone. She said that she would look in to it and call back. Right after getting off the phone, I checked my bank statement to investigate when exactly they were done. I called her right back and let her know the date I was charged and for how much, in which she said that would help her try and figure things out. I have not heard back from her since. I am annoyed that I spent money to get a service done, but it seems like they simply put a band aid over it as the leak came back in the same area. However, I am truly disappointed in the lack of customer service in this company by them just neglecting to rectify the situation. Is not responding to your customer the way you provide excellent service? They must have thought I would have forgotten about them. Got my roof replaced with cables through my real estate agent upon closing on my house. The company did not do a satisfactory job, left all of the leftover supplies that were unused laying throughout my yard and driveway, and when confronted about issues with the roof, the owner himself belittled me, made me feel as though it was an inconvenience to have to come look at the house again, and basically told me it is what it is and fix what I was unhappy about would be several thousand more dollars. Very disappointed with how everything went, and now that I am under contract to sell my house, the same things that I was upset with are being asked by the buyer to be repaired. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a different company. read more

Our experience with Cable's has been terrible. Well, our initial sales meeting with Tim Fairhead was great and was the only bright, responsive part of our interaction with Cable's. They took our deductible on May 6, but did nothing after that to interact with our insurance company as they said they would until I call for an update on May 17. Then they finally sent the Settlement Letter and Estimate of Damages, this was despite the fact that they told us it was sent on May 11. And even after they finally sent the estimate they still have not responded to the claims adjuster request for information one line item. This request was made on 5/17 and today is 5/25 and it's still not sent!! And everything I try to speak to Macy Cable regarding the delay and get an update, she will not get on the phone with me or have the professionalism to return my call!! Mine you, this is after they took my $2,300 deductible. My major frustration come because on 4/11 we lost almost 25% of our roof due to a major storm. And every time it rains or we have strong winds, we panic in fear of even more damage occurring. Cable's is more than aware of this, but their lack of care, responsiveness and yes, professionalism is unacceptable. My husband and I are highly disappointed in this company. If they didn't have the best price for the roofing repair we would not have gone with them. We first contacted them end of October and they had a girl (Courtney) come out and take pics and look at our roof. Bad impression when she was 2 hours late from the time she gave us. We had to call and call for three weeks just to get an estimate. Eventually had to get her boss (Tim) to give us estimate as she was unreachable, he was really apologetic while covering for Courtney. This was after Thanksgiving when we finally got the estimate. We signed the contract and gave Tim a deposit check on the 1st of December to have repairs done. Was sent an email on the 13 that we were moved to the production people to have the repairs done. Had not heard back from them and called on Thursday the 16 was told they would call back and no call back. We called back on the 20th and was told they would call back no call back we called them back that afternoon and they said they would be here on the 27th. We waited for them to show up and called them when they didn't show up and was told that if they could make it it would be afternoon because they had to finish another job, no one showed up in the afternoon either. We called them again and were told Tuesday they would be here first thing. No show Tuesday morning so call again at 10:30 and they told us they will be at our house by noon. Noon comes and goes, call back at 12:30 and they "are almost here," finally arrived about 1:10 in the afternoon. The guys that did the roof were good. The only thing Cable's roofing were quick about was wanting their final payment which we had an email and phone call about within two days of the repair. These people are horrible at communication & do not return calls. I do not recommend this company. read more

These guys are great and they can do so much more than just roofing. My dryer vent vents out the roof and I noticed the lent accumulating at the vent on the roof and knew it needed cleaning. But no way we were going to get up in this two story roof. Darren's guys did a great job of cleaning it out. They have also done work for many clients of mine and they are always very pleased. Worst roofing company in the Tyler area. Very high priced. Salesman worst than used car salesman. They make the deal and never want to deal with you again. Use out of state roofers. Half way does the job and no one check back after work is done. Not organized and everyone blames everyone else when things go wrong. Cable's roofing inspected the roof of a home we recently purchased. The report stated that there was no storm damage to the shingles, pipe flashing, boots and bent caps. Another inspection revealed extensive and severe damage. The third inspector confirmed the second inspector stating that the storm damage to the roof was severe. It appears that Cable's roofing report could have been written to help the sellers get the house sold and may have not been entirely truthful. read more

Ryan and their team have been very professional and helpful. We've had a sky light leak for months and cables finally fixed it properly and in a timely manner. When they repaired the sheet rock it bubbled a bit so when I called to tell them, they sent their guys back out the next day with no hassle and fixed the ceiling correctly. This roofing company was referred to me by my real estate company. I'm in the process of buying a house, and with only 10 days in the option period, I needed a roof inspection done pretty quickly. I called on a Tuesday and made it clear I was interested in having an estimate done by Friday. They gathered my information and even asked for me to email them the home inspection. Needless to say, it's now Friday, the last day of my option period and I have still yet to hear one word back from this company. I would never, ever recommend this company, not even to my worst enemy. 1.) The company does not do the work promised. 2.) They do not stand behind their work. I paid immediately the day of the supposed repair work completed. The company's roofer person showed up on Christmas Eve and spent 15 minutes on my roof. When I questioned the work promised by Cable's, he said yes he had followed the company's instructions. Three phone calls later they never returned to check the roofer's work. My daughter, who knows the owner, talked to him (in person/face to face) and he promised immediate attention. Not a word/not a phone call. I talked to one of the Cable's servicemen in the parking lot of Home Depot. He was nice and took all my information and promised to turn the report into the owner. Not a word/not a phone call. Finally after months of waiting on Cable's to stand behind their work, a honest men did the work for a fair price.
