Kevin from Bathroom Direct took a look at it and provided me a verbal quote of $20 - $25K. I then asked him for a written quote and this came in at $17K. I then got a further two quotes from other companies. One came in at $13K and the other at $8K. Each quote was the same in terms of the process, methods, materials and finishings. So why did Bathroom Direct provide me with a verbal quote of $20 to $25K and then a written quote for $18K? I was told the allowance for electrical work had been removed from the written quote. No electrical work was needed or required for the repairs. If it had been, it would have been a simple disconnection and reconnection of an electrical socket. Not a job running into the $000s. Lost my total confidence of Bathroom Direct at this point. Lastly, Kevin did say his quote came with a 5-year guarantee for water tightness. I got this with the other two quotes. I strongly advise to shop around.

What I love about this place is that there's always something here that I know my mum will love. It could be a new cookbook or a new salad serving set, but whatever it is, The Homestore has it. It's also home to appliances, dinner sets and bathroom accessories. I'd like to think I become a little more domesticated after every visit, and i'm always sure to pick up something useful for myself. I'm an avid baker and they've got some great cupcake patty tins and some awesome cake decorating supplies aswell. If you're a party planner, they've got some cute decorations- think lanterns and garlands. A few days before Christmas last year this place was so busy, and in my haze of last minute Christmas shopping I found some comic relief in the lady who served me at the counter. I never got her name but she was hilarious. We didn't speak about much in particular, but I just remember laughing and joking with her about the perils of Christmas shopping. Just being able to have a normal conversation that wasn't about what I was buying was quite refreshing. I bought a few glass items and she made sure to double package them (I was carrying a lot of stuff already), so they wouldn't smash on my way out. She was so thoughtful and pretty much made my night! I really do love The Homestore- the ultimate stop for anything your home needs.

I've been in this store 5-6 times over the past 6 months as I love the stock however I have never…read morebeen greeted while in there. Often I am just browsing however today I went in planning on spending quite a large amount of money for a birthday present. I spent 10-15 minutes in store, first walking around and then looking quite hard at one shelf in particular. There were two ladies working and no one else in store yet I was not greeted or acknowledged in any way. I go into retail stores to get the personal interaction and staff knowledge about the items, since I can't get that service from this store I won't go back and might as well buy things online.

I liked the website and the process outlined, the gallery was nice and he was recommended to me by a friend. I meet with him personally and presented my house plans and the ideal kitchen concept I had in mind to him in 3D CAD, in addition to a picture of the ideal kitchen we wanted. During our initial consult, he hadn't taken the time to review what I had provided week prior and then immediately deviated from what I wanted. 2 weeks after our initial meet, despite being advised it would only take 3-5 working days, the 3D kitchen plans came through. I responded and suggested we meet to review the changes I would like to make - at this point Craig, starting talking about complete reworks, no time, pushing it out to the new year, maybe I should look elsewhere..... and if I wanted to proceed to a quote, I would have to pay! It does not state that on the website, anywhere, and at no time during our initial consultation was I informed of the process... At the end of the day, I provided a plan, and all I wanted was an estimated quote before paying for anything. Please reconsider ever using this company, and look elsewhere. You wasted my time Craig.

Gone is the 70s country style, replaced with a fabulously sleek, stylish, modern new version. Ming of Fabulous Kitchens came highly recommended and that's a sentiment shared by me. We had the vision, he fine tuned it for us and delivered the goods. The beauty about Fabulous Kitchens is that they can provide everything from cabinetry to benchtops which made the whole process so easy for us. Once we settled on our design Ming invited us to their East Tamaki showroom to choose our finishes or at least take a few samples home. Final touches to the plan sorted in the lead up to demolition day, it really was happening. We made sure the BBQ gas bottle was filled as that's where our meals were cooked during the six weeks the project took to complete.
