My dish was very tasty but unfortunately the service left much to be desired. My drink wasn't refilled, cracked pepper was never delivered as promised and we were pretty much ignored after we received our plates. It was very disappointing as we were looking forward to visiting during our trip. Well, this didn't go as planned. Since my last review, I've been here a few times and it's progressively dropped, but last night was the last time. It was for two of us, and a rather simple occasion- just dinner. For appetizers we ordered the beef carpaccio and the Caesar salad. After approximately 25 minutes of sitting there and just drinking wine, they arrive. Carpaccio was fine enough- but not as good as it used to be. The salad was for the most part good, but the anchovies they're using now are a bit more pungent than what I remember. For the entrees, the server mentions some aged t-bone something as one of the specials. I was debating the filet or the agnolotti. I asked the server and he sold me on the t-bone but didn't mention the price ($90 of you're curious- I found out during payment and was not enthused). We ended up ordering the filet and the t-bone. The filet was enjoyable enough- but not well seasoned. The t-bone was extremely tough, overly fatty and fairly bland. Not worth $50, even less $90. What's even more disappointing was the side dish- the layered potatoes with cheese were all extremely undercooked. The potatoes were crunchy and the cheese too much. The potatoes were like raw crunchy, NOT crispy crunchy. I wanted to tell our server but he didn't pop around for another 35 minutes. We ordered dessert and the apple streusel tasted like a 50¢ apple pie wrapped in wax paper while the panna cotta was a disappointing blob of milky gelatin. All in all, we saw our server maybe for a total of 2 minutes over the course of nearly 2 hours. He stopped by the table maybe a total of 3 times during the course of those 2 minutes he was present. We actively ate for maybe 45 minutes. Everything else was either waiting for the food to arrive or waiting to order. I'm only giving this 2/5 just because the beef carpaccio was mediocre and because the ambience was nice. But everything else was subpar. And that will be my last visit. There are other dining establishments where they're honest about pricing, where service is still a thing and diners aren't left hanging. read more

Had dinner here for New Years eve this last year and it was an absolutely horrible experience! We had dinner at 6 and somehow they were already out of their "special". Entrees showed up wrong, cold or completely missing. The customer service was dreadful and the parking is absurd. First visit was outstanding. We were seated in a small private area in the garden. Food was delicious. Second visit was our wedding day, just the two of us. We requested that same area, way in advance. When we arrived we were told it wasn't available. They should have notified us in advance of this as it was part of the day we were looking forward to. Then there was basically no mention of our wedding the rest of the service. No congratulations (except when saying goodbye) . Quite the disappointing experience and I doubt I will go back after this poor level of customer service for our special day. We haven't been here in years and now I know why. Once again the ambiance and service were a clear 5 stars. Our waiter was Nicko, who is the son of the owners. Our table was perfectly attended to by him and several other servers. The calmly decorated old house is just lovely. And it's so nice to eat in restaurant with friends where we can actually talk without shouting. The food however is good but not memorable. One guest had the special of a phyllo dough encrusted chicken dish which she loved. The rest of us were under impressed with our dishes: polenta with mushrooms, pasta carbonara, sausage pasta. Been going to Ca"Bianca for many years, the staff are super friendly and love the menu. They are a little pricey, but way better options than most of the Italian restaurants in Sonomacounty. I have had several work parties in the upstairs private room this last year Christmas 2023. I minus to Star because the service was not as fast replenishing appetizers and drinks, etc. was beyond slow, and the portions were tiny? So a little disappointed with that I've gone back since with other friends for dinner and it was really good. I know they've been around a long time, but I do think they seriously need to invest in some fresh paint in elevating, the decor, a little ! They also need to offer more non-alcoholic, cocktails and refreshing beverages using local things like lemons and mints and berries. Sonomacounty has an abundance of produce all year long not everything has to be bottled in a can try making some lemonades or fresh fruit juices. read more

I came here back in 2021/22 and I had such a lovely time. After years I going myself in Santa Rosa, and thought so kindly of this place. Unfortunately it wasn't the same experience. Granted it was busy, but I felt like they took care of everyone else before me and my partner. We were celebrating our anniversary and I kind of felt a little ignored. The food took a long time, they never came by with the Parmesan cheese for my dish and we ended up boxing up our dinner because the time between the appetizer and the main course kind of made us not hungry anymore for anything. The staff was absent and someone ACTUALLY mistook my partner for an employee because nobody was checking on them and he happened to walk passed. We left without dessert and for the price we paid was kind of an unpleasant experience compared to years ago. Food was a bit cold. Ambiance is still lovely and enchanting but very loud. My coworker asked me what I thought about it and honestly, I'm open to trying things twice, so we ordered that as well. Lovely Italian restaurant in downtown Santa Rosa. I have eaten here several times over the years and there are many things I love about it. Service - last night our server Joe gave us 5 star service. We were a ladies party of 6 celebrating a birthday and Joe was the best. He was attentive at just the right times, always checking on us, filling our wine glasses, as if on cue. Location - 5 star location as well. The beautiful Victorian building and gardens are well maintained. The best thing about the dining room is that you can actually have a conversation with your dinner mates without shouting over the table. There are very few restaurants in Santa Rosa that this is possible. There is also 2 other large dining rooms that can used for private parties as well, so great for large groups or holiday parties. Food - The food is delicious at Ca'Bianca. The portions are generous. My only complaint here is that the prices tend to be on the high side. Granted, everything seems to be high quality ingredients, but $34 for the pasta special seems pretty pricey to me. Everything else on the menu was equally high priced, $16.00 for some of the appetizers! The dishes I loved was the seafood fettucini, the beef carpaccio, and the heirloom tomato salad with what I believed to be house made burrata. The panna cotta is wonderful as well. This is a great restaurant for date night, special occasions, holiday meals, bridal showers, and they even do weddings here. The gardens are lush and beautiful as well. read more

We had the most wonderful meal at this quaint Italian restaurant in Santa Rosa. Situated in a Victorian house and run by an Italian family, we feasted on savory pastas, beautiful salads and sipped choice wines. They have a large beautiful patio with lots of secluded spots surrounded by lush plantings and tall trees. Lit with a variety of white lights the aura is positively magical. Our server, Allie (a family member) took great care of us and was so much fun. They are taking Covid very seriously with gloved and masked servers and well-spaced seating. The menu features tons of house made pastas and our group really enjoyed the Zucca (butternut squash ravioli with a sage butter sauce) and the rich and hearty Bolognese (grandmas recipe). To start I loved the Cesar ( big leaves of romaine with just the perfect amount of Tandy dressing) and the Italian bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Just had lunch there and am very disappointed with the quality of the food. We had a Caesar salad which consisted of 6 romaine leaves a tiny sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and creamy tastes dressing. Main course: spaghetti carbonara... creamy and tasteless. It did not have the ingredients that are essential... egg, fresh pepper, Parmesan cheese, just some cream and pancetta. My first impression walking in was how beautiful the gardens and veranda is, so I was looking forward to the meal and frequenting such a beautiful place again. But after tasting the food it's a NO. Cabianca has really gone down hill. The last 3 times we were there it was terrible. I was there recently with a group from work. Dont order the deserts. We had the Canoli and the shell was old, mushy and stale tasting. The filling was cheap and flavorless. the Affogato Al Caffè was unacceptable. Several of us had it. There was NO Gelato. The waiter or cook thought they would be smug and put a 1/2 shot of expresso and cover it all up with whip cream. Either they ran out of Gelato or the desert chef or waiter (whoever makes it) was lazy. Also the balding Mexican waiter had a chip on this shoulder. He seemed put out and burned out. Were not going back anytime soon. 3 strikes your out! This place needs to get it together. Very disappointed. We spent almost 1K for a crappy meal and bad waiter experience. What a serene house and location. Greeted by a beautiful garden. They were super busy that evening with homecoming dance and regular Saturday night crowd. Found this restaurant on OpenTable but it had such good reviews I definitely wanted to try it. The restaurant is in a lovely old home from the 1800s would've love to look through the whole place. The service was fantastic our waitress was Robin and she was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I had two Ginny and tonics I know a funny name that we're good. I had the halibut special and my husband had a seafood pasta both were fantastic. I also had dessert and it was not too filling it was pan a cotta. I highly recommend this place. read more

Professional and courteous and helped make the experience wonderful for all. We started with a delicious Caesar salads presented beautifully. For our meals, both Uncle and I ordered the Pollo Ripieno, stuffed w/ prosciutto, spinach & mozzarella wrapped in puff pastry and baked. We agreed the sauce made the dish extra delicious. What a wonderful setting and delicious food. The large converted home with large rooms with spaced out tables is very comfortable. Outside dining was also picturesque. The service and menu were terrific. Five of us started with beef carpaccio and the special salad of the day, avocado salad with tomatoes, onions, pine nuts, and mango. Delicious! The entrees were classics and hard to decide. I loved the pasta carbonara, others had the tortelli with a salmon and spinach filling and it looked like stuffed silver dollars, thick noodles and bolognese, and rigatoni with Italian sausage. For dessert we had a very light and delicious cannoli. A wonderful meal in a terrific atmosphere! read more
