History
Established in 1985.
In 1985 we began as Civic Center Child Care Corporation in the California Public Utilities Commission Building as a not-for-profit public benefit corporation by a group of employees. In 1999, we were chosen to operate a new preschool center in the new Hiram Johnson State Office Building. It now serves up to 85 children. In 2002, we began evolving our program from a traditional child care program into a comprehensive, full-featured, highly nurturing, learning and development program with a strong Reggio Emilia influence and officially changed our name to C5 Children's School. In 2012 we were selected by the City to operate the child development center for 75 children in their new Public Utilities Commission Building. We closed our original center in that summer and moved all of the infants and toddlers to the new center. Today, both centers combine services to provide a continuous program for children who are six weeks old through five years old and to the time they enter Kindergarten.
