They took months to respond to a request for an assessment, which was the first red flag. To do the assessment, they required an up-front assessment fee (put towards the actual work)--the second red flag--but, months later and after multiple follow ups, the estimate is still not forthcoming. Finally, after doing additional research, it turns out that their Home Improvement Contractor license (a requirement in Massachusetts) has apparently expired--the last red flag. It is not clear whether they are just negligent, badly run, or an outright scam contractor, but be careful otherwise you may be throwing good money after bad.

The owners are exceptional - and supporting businesses in Adams is so worth the efforts. We happily bought a Ravelli RV 100 stove when moving to the Berkshires from Los Angeles CA. We love this stove, and it is our primary form of heat. The engineering is great, the installation work was phenomenal and the service follow through fantastic. That said, it is a business that takes some patience given how the few staff need to cover great distances in their work. Living in the Berkshires is teaching us patience - but we have benefited enormously from the owner's kind attentions to detail and their excellent recommendations. The pellets they offer (Matra) are exceptional and somewhat hard to acquire. If they offered a delivery service 1-2 months of the year that would be perfect. Get to know Dave and you will find a friend for life. Patience is rewarded.

Matthew came and looked at it and recommended a pressure treated fence to match the rest of the deck. He looked closely at it, took pictures and did an absolutely beautiful job. Matthew was always on time and finished in under a day. He also replaced a rotted handrail on the deck. It came out perfect!
