Most is quite dry from the recent lack of rain. The tract has a small parking lot and a gate with a sign. This whole area is cow pasture so it's important to keep the gates closed. I didn't see any cows but I sure saw a whole lot of cow poop. Fortunately I also saw numerous cool birds like wood storks, white ibis, great egrets, ospreys, blue herons and perhaps even an eagle. Although in reality the eagle was probably a buzzard. The trails aren't really marked and you just kind of wander around the open fields and wooded areas. Bicycles, horses and hikers are encouraged but no motorized vehicles are allowed. Not the greatest place for a hike but it does have some nice scenery and some very abundant and cool wild life. Probably a much nicer place for some horse back riding than walking.

I was not sure to expect, but it was a pleasant experience. I think the best part for me was to see all of the alligators in the water. As I approached an area, you could see them quickly sink and at other times just float. While I have done some birding trips before, I need a guide to help me with identification. A couple quick tips: This is a business. So normal operation hours. Sign in right inside the front door. They are friendly. Surprisingly there is no odor at the water treatment plant The dirt road is 2.3 mile long. No leaving the vehicle. What did I learn? The place is a wetlands and the trails (walking or horseback riding) flood/get very muddy so don't go within 3 days of a significant rain fall. Unfortunately the trails weren't passable when I went due to rainfall the day before. It looked pretty though!
