We, at the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs (adaptedsports.org), have hired a lot of photographers and videographers in our 20 years in operation. We hold 4-6 major events a year. In all that time, we've seen good to above average photographers, but only two who surpassed all our expectations. Cindy Brown is one of those! I have long admired Cindy's work. I am struck by her ability to capture the essence of a person, an emotion, or a situation. I have had the pleasure of seeing many photos she has taken of folks I know personally (as Cindy has photographed festivals and events in our small town). It is just absolutely uncanny to me how her photographs allow and encourage her subjects' personalities to shine through so clearly, yet in the most flattering way. Although I am usually uncomfortable having my photograph taken, I jumped at the chance to be included in Cindy's latest project - photos of people on their front porches during the COVID19 Shelter in Place order. Cindy is, without question, an excellent photographer-- she takes interesting and beautifully framed photos even when one of her human subjects (me!) is less than cooperative. Cindy has been beyond patient with me and my fiance on so many steps of this process. Our engagement shoot was everything we could have hoped for and more-- gorgeous photos that captured who we are as individuals and who we are as a couple. Cindy did a wonderful job taking my daughter's "newborn" (she was a month old after she left NICU) pictures. She was very patient, especially with my 2 year old who was wanting to be in all the pictures. The pictures came out great.
