Don Schmaltz is the owner of Precision Auto Body in Rugby, ND. I had a rust hole located on the…read morerighthand cab corner panel of my 2006 Ford F 150 pickup so I called a welder in Rugby, ND thinking a welder could simply weld the hole shut. He recommended I call Donnie Schmaltz at Precision Auto Body. I called Donnie and he said he could replace the righthand cab corner panel for $500 and that it would take no more than 3 days. I brought my pickup into Precision Auto Body on Monday, April 24th, 2023 and Donnie confirmed once again that he would do the job for $500 and that it would take 3 days. He said he had already ordered the righthand cab corner panel and that he had it in stock for the job as we had talked about a week prior. A red flag that should have jumped out at me is when Donnie then proceeded to correct me and tell me that his name was Don and not Donnie. This coming from a man who got my name wrong when I picked up my vehicle as he mixed up my first and last name, but I had the manners not to correct him. Don did not complete the job in 3 days. After 3 days on Friday, April 28th, 2023, when I called Don to check up on my pickup, he was rude over the phone and said, "If people would stop calling my phone and texting me, I could get some work done. Do you know what I mean?" At this time, Don reassured me that the pickup would be done on Monday, May 1st, 2023. May 1st came and the pickup was not done. I texted Don the next day on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 to ask when my pickup would be ready for pick up. No response. I called Don the next day on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 and his response was, "We had a couple of fires here in Rugby and I'm on the volunteer fire department so I didn't get to your vehicle yet. But I have a lot of other auto body work to do besides fixing rust holes and that work is going to get completed first before your vehicle." Don did not mention that he was a volunteer fire fighter when we first spoke and he did not mention that he was overloaded with work and could not finish my vehicle in a timely manner. If he had been honest to begin with, I would not have dropped my vehicle off at his business. I would have went someplace else. He was nice to get me as a customer through his door and then he turned around and was very rude to me. Don did not finish my vehicle until Thursday, May 11th, 2023 almost 4 weeks after I dropped it off at his auto body shop. He certainly did not complete the job in the 3 days that he promised whenever he first spoke with me on the phone and he did not treat me with respect at all. In addition, Don fixes one thing and then ruins or wrecks another thing on your vehicle if you apparently bother him too much as he is such a busy person. For example, Don or one of his employees put a small scratch on my nice wooden dashboard that also was not there before. Then, on my radio head unit screen there is plastic to cover the screen in order to protect the screen. I wanted that plastic to remain covering the screen. Well, Don or one of his employees took the upper right hand corner piece off of my screen and bent it back a little so that now, it does not cover the screen like before. I also checked the rest of the inside of my pickup and I had rubber hook straps that I occasionally use as tie downs and one of my hooks was missing. Don and or his employees did all of this to one of his customers just because I wanted to know the status of my vehicle and he did not complete the job in the 3 days that he had promised to me as a customer. Don made every other customer's vehicle a priority during the almost 4 weeks that my vehicle was there in order to do me on purpose for calling and texting about my vehicle. He intentionally made me wait longer for my vehicle and he also ruined part of my vehicle in the process of supposedly fixing my cab corner panel. I would definitely not recommend that anyone go to see or talk to Don Schmaltz at Precision Auto Body in Rugby, ND. He will be rude to you after he gets you through the door, he will intentionally take an exceptionally long time to finish your vehicle, and if you call or text too many times to check up on your vehicle as you have no idea when you are going to get it back, he will intentionally and purposefully ruin or cause further damage to your vehicle. Stay away and run fast from Precision Auto Body in Rugby, ND! You will only come out from that place with more damage to your vehicle!

If you are looking for a dealership that will scam you and then try to leech more money from you…read moreafterwards this is the place for you! We bought a 2012 Ford F150 on 01/28/2022 and since then have had non stop problems that the dealership refuses to rectify. We made the trip from Minot to Rugby which is a little over an hour away especially given the weather conditions. My husband and I both test drove this vehicle and didn't have any issues. We were not able to drive it home that day due to having to wait for the loan to process. They offered to have it delivered and we assumed it would be delivered on a trailer but it was not. They drove it to Minot on 02/02/2022. We met at Don Bessette here in Minot to pick it up and drove it home. Not a full 2 hours later my husband went outside to start the vehicle to go to work and it would not start. Thus, the beginning of our issues. Upon further inspection the battery connectors were a little corroded so we changed them to no avail. We then found that the starter was bad and ended up changing that the following week. But it doesn't end there. The check engine light came on with timing retarded codes. At this point we called the dealership and our sales person told us that it sounds like a prior issue. You would think after saying something like that it would be promptly taken care of by the car dealership at no expense to the buyer but that was not the case. After giving us the run around for several days they decided they would only cover $250 of the repair that they quoted to be an $850 repair, if other issues weren't found that they also would not cover. But wait THERE'S MORE! It broke down again for an entirely different reason today 03/21/2022. Now it's saying that there is no fuel pressure in the fuel rail. It will lope and try really hard to get gas but it just won't run above 1000rpm. I then called the dealership once more and straight up told them that it seems like they didn't even do an inspection before putting the vehicle on their lot and it's seeming more and more like they just sold us a lemon and knew full well there were existing issues. I should also mention that since buying the vehicle around 500 miles has been put on it that includes the trips it has made to and from Rugby for delivery as well as when we took it up for diagnostics regarding timing. Now I am in the run around AGAIN where anytime I get someone on the phone, they pass me along to the next person and talk about their sales manager but they don't transfer me directly to their sales manager and getting a call back from the sales manager takes several hours if not days. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this business. They may seem sticky sweet at first but the sting you get afterwards isn't worth it.

After we test drove the truck, the salesman told us that the price was actually $74,000. He said the sales manager told him that they had forgotten to add the Roush package to the window sticker. They refused to honor the advertised price or negotiate at all. False advertising. What a waste of a day.
