He arrived back from his trip a day early, but the owner could not get back to released my dad's dog due to car trouble. She promised she would meet him early the next day. My dad's dog, Sam, was left unattended for over 12 hours. When she arrived back at the facility, he was dead. She was sad about this, but my dad is still grieving Sam's life. Sam was a six-year-old goldendoodle in the prime of his life. An autopsy was done on Sam's body. Findings are sketchy because the owner had taken Sam to be frozen until arrangements could be made. It feels a little bit like tracks were recovered... But we will never know. The working theory is that Sam choked on his food. Well that may be, he never did for the six years he was alive. In addition, had someone been there to release Sam the night before my dad would have been there to help remove the choking obstacle. The owner promised that she would file a claim on her insurance and provide restitution to my father. We agreed to let any further suit go in light of this. When repeated attempts to contact her failed, we realized that she was a nefarious individual at best. Beware of taking your babies to this place. Shame on you South Bark!

After a 9 hour drive from DFW the owner of Pampered Pets was no where to be found! I called several times, left messages, waited in an empty parking lot and worried. What kind of business treats their clients this way??? Several phone calls later I was able to secure the needed boarding for our dogs with South Bark Grooming (Village at Laguna Vista). The staff at South Bark Grooming was wonderful with our pups and even sent us pics with our pups posing at the Christmas tree. Our dogs were happy & clean when we picked them up. Careless employee hurt my pet…read more I had never taken my pet here so I decided to give them a try, even though I read some negative reviews. I asked them to bathe her and clip her nails, however, they also cut her fur. When I picked her up, she seemed agitated and had lots of loose fur but other than that, she seemed fine. Later that day, she didn't seem like herself. She had very low energy and I saw she was kind of limping but didn't think much of it. That evening, my son noticed she had a couple of abrasions on her chest and what looked like a puncture wound on her right leg! She was also having difficulty walking and seemed to be in pain. On the third day, she woke up with lots of swelling on that same leg which, according to her vet, was a result of the puncture wound. She picked up an infection from the wound and I picked up a $350 bill. After our visit to the vet, I stopped by the groomers again to speak with the manager and the receptionist seemed genuinely concerned. She said she'd talk to the owner to see if they'd at least pick up the Vet's bill. She called me the next day to say her boss would not take responsibility for Lexi's injury. I am outraged that sometime like this could happen and that they did not disclose it to me! I know accidents happen but this has really traumatized my dog.
