We sat in a more upscale timber "tent" with a great band playing an eclectic mix of traditional Bavarian music and rock anthems. We ate, drank and danced all night. Would highly recommend. While Oktoberfest is an over-commercialized 'Disney World' experience, Herbstfest still remains the real deal.

Ok - first time food truck festival in Rosenheim, the whole pedestrian area downtown... sounded…read morequite promising. Hence the food people that we are went. And yes, true, it was the whole downtown, packed with stands, trucks and people. but the quality was... sigh... a bit sub par. as was the variety. there were burger trucks. burger stands. pulled (enter animal here) stands. and then one (!) oriental food stand, one (!) gyoza / moji stand one froyo one potato and one from the first class restaurant in Rosenheim, the Weinlaende - and that.. basically concluded it. not too much variety, and the quality was just - at least the burgers we tried sub par. tasteless, pressed pattie, with nacho cheese (!) sauce. bad bun. pulled pork, although ordered spicy was bland. I just hope that it will massively improve if - IF - they repeat.
