Ms Blackledge, Thank you so much! I don't Have any words…read morebecause I don't think I've been this thankful for my whole life. You have an awesome team assembled! It's starting to look like there is a path forward. Thank you so much!

Fathers dealing with custody issues: do your homework before hiring this firm…read more I hired Autumn Beck Blackledge expecting experienced representation in a custody and contempt matter involving my children. I was quoted $6,500 with a $2,000 retainer. My experience was nowhere near what I expected for that level of expense. It took approximately five months for anything to be filed. After that, I continued to experience delays and communication problems. Approximately four months later, I was still frustrated that my attorney had been unable to negotiate something as important to me as spring-break parenting time with my children. Communication was another major problem. I routinely felt like I had to chase the firm for answers. At times, I waited five or more business days for a response to an email, only to have to follow up again. Some responses felt generic and did not actually address the questions or concerns I had raised. The financial experience was also extremely frustrating. I ultimately paid approximately $8,500, only to be charged another $972 on top of that. The most disappointing part came when I appeared before the judge regarding Ms. Blackledge being relieved from my case. She was approximately 20 minutes late to a hearing scheduled for only 15 minutes, and the judge had to repeatedly attempt to contact her before she appeared. After spending thousands of dollars, I expected communication, urgency, preparation, and meaningful progress. That was not my experience. When you're a parent fighting to maintain a relationship with your children, months matter. Missed opportunities for parenting time matter. Communication matters. And thousands of dollars in legal fees matter. My advice to other fathers is simple: interview multiple attorneys, get everything in writing, understand exactly what you're paying for, and don't assume that a high price automatically means you'll receive the level of service you expect. This is my personal account of my experience as a client, and prospective clients should make their own decision after researching the firm and speaking with the attorney directly.

My former wife's…read moreattorney's, Laura Coleman, had been on the case for a considerable amount of time already and had significant more time to prepare than Mr. Holman. My former wife was requesting to move to Alaska with our child and her military husband. Mr. Holman was extremely professional, calm, and thorough. He was not only able to keep the custody 50/50, as I was seeking, but ultimately, through his work, it was discovered the military orders my former wife had filed the relocation with had been canceled months before she filed the relocation, meaning she had filed with stale and invalid documents!! He was always available to ease my concerns, answer my questions, and was great in the final hearing. I will say it did cost me $15000 but it was honestly worth every penny because my child is more than worth it. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking a professional, cool as ice, and thorough attorney.

My divorce is contested which was discussed during the consultation, Laura was reluctant to address my request for relief or act in my best interest. I don't know if it was due to; trying to avoid confrontation, inexperience with complicated cases, or a simple matter of incompetence. I feel I was pushed to try mediation($), appear before magistrate($) when it was in my best interest to request a final hearing. Laura requested and received an additinonal sum before representing me in a motion for relief hearing filed by opposing counsel, which she lost when challenged by opposing counsel, costing me $1400 monthly. I was appalled to discover she didn't have any of my financial information to contest opposing counsel and she still didn't have my new address on record. Veterans please stay away from this attorney she is not familiar with military retirement/benefits or VA disability. DON'T be fooled by her military friendly website. Bottom line, his efforts got a favorable determination in our favor getting future alimony payments terminated. Do not let his calm demeanor fool you. For lack of a better word, she demolished the opposing counsel. I had second hand embarrassment for him. I pity anyone who would try to go toe to toe with her. Her paralegals are also unmatched, they were quick to deliver whatever she requested in the middle of a hearing. They kept me on track throughout the whole process. The office manager is kind and kept me on schedule, as well. I would recommend her to anyone I care about who may be needing counsel for family matters.
