This yarn shop moved from Brookings to Crescent City a while ago. They have a very nice selection of yarn - colors, weight, etc. They sell fabric and embroidery floss, too. I wish they sold cross stitch fabric, though. This is a speciality yarn shop so you won't find Red Heart, Caron or any of those other yarn sold by Yarnspirations. I always try new quilt stores and yarn stores while traveling and so I wandered into this sweet store. I was really impressed with the supply of yarns they had. They had picked wonderful brands and had lots of colors to choose from. The fabrics were arranged pleasantly and attractively. Sometimes there is too much to see and it becomes overwhelming. This was not the case. I ended up buying some new needles that are some of my favorites and also a lot of fabric. Great selections and pleasant sales gal. read more

Just stopped into the new Crescent City shop, today. Love the renovation and all the fabrics available. Saw some of the owners' work and was so impressed. If you have not been by there, do it. I will be going back when I have the right glasses on for looking at quilting prints. Lots of yarns available as well. read more

My wife and I went into the fabric store with our documented service dog in uniform. The elderly lady behind the counter shook her hand at us and told us to leave the store at once in a rude tone. The dog was in her pouch and could not touch anything in the store. We explained that we had paperwork proving that indeed she is certified. She demanded to know what service she performs. We explained. She was ugly, rude and pointed us to the door. I'D STAY AWAY! read more

I am really pleased that this store has opened in Brookings. I have purchased material, embroidery thread and blanket bindings from them for the last 10 baby blankets I made for my great-grandbabies. Excellent selection, and if they don't have it on hand, they will order it for you! Sure beats driving to Crescent City, where you are not always sure their fabric department will have what you need. What a beautiful yarn store. The sales person was very attentive. Answer all of our questions. I purchased some wonderful yarn. Been interested in the inter changeable needles. Well I bought them, she gave me 3 differ length cords that the kit didn't have, plus the tags for what size needles you are using. Then she gave me a hand spun Marino and silk single ply. I found my two times in the store was grate. She is there to help and she does. Love the store. read more

This was my first visit and will not be my last! Yarn and fabric was beautifully arranged, great selection, and very reasonably priced. My visit was enhanced by the charming owner who spent time with me as we spoke about yarn and shared her knowledge and experience with me. I have known Laurie, the owner for some time and I don't know who waited on the two people with the low rating as Laurie is the sweetest, kindest person I know. She has never forced her opinion on anyone that I know of. I have purchased from her during the 5 years I lived in Brookings on a regular bases, and never had a problem. I'm sorry for the people who had issues, are you sure it was the owner, Laurie?? I truly doubt it. She does have people come in and work for her at times, possibly it could have been one of them which is truly a shame as it gives the store a bad rep and it isn't Laurie's fault. Just visiting Bookings for a few days and ran out of thread for a project I am in the middle of. Looked at the local Fred Meyer store and no thread. Went for a drive and caught this store out the corner of my eye and turned around and I am glad I did. The owner was so nice and helpful. She said she has only been open since December. Today was the first time that I had gone into the store. I went in to buy my daughter some yarn and crochet hooks for a blanket. From the time that I walked in, she was standing over me like I was going to steal something, as well as looking me up and down like I was below her which was completely uncalled for. We decided to get a multi pack of crochet hooks, which would have been perfect for what she wants to do. The woman proceeded to take a pack off the shelf that had larger hooks in it and insisted that they would work better. We decided on the ones that we initially chose and she got annoyed. This made my daughter very uncomfortable and her actions intimidated her. Needless to say, this will be the last time I will ever go back in there. I suggest if you're middle to low class, think twice; you may be treated the same. And just in case the store owner reads this, I'm pretty sure you know who I am. read more

This is the unfriendliest store ever! They follow you around like you might shoplift. They are insulting, rude and discriminate against the handicapped. There are places that welcome your money, creativity and talents. This is NOT one of them. read more

Cute little store. They have some wonderful colors and yarns from brands I have not seen before. They also stock DMC crochet thread in a good selection of colors! The owner and her assistant are very friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend if you are a knitter traveling on 101! read more

Laurie is so knowledgeable about all things fabric, yarn, and notions related. If she doesn't' have an item. she will either special order it or give you good suggestions where you can find the item in the community or nearby. She is always so welcoming and friendly. Happy to know she will be hosting a beginning quilting class soon. read more
