In particular, the Prairie Dog is always a hit. Not, not an actual small mammal, but a type of deep fried (in a special mix of oils) hot dog that is then charcoaled and served with special relishes and salad. It is absolutely delicious and leaves you feeling more satisfied and less bloated than a kebab or burger. That being said, the burgers are top notch too. Try Canadian Charcoal Pit burger with onion rings and hash browns or the Montreal with sweetcorn and salami. The fries (they are thin cut) can be hit and miss, sometimes under cut and under seasoned but sometimes crispy and golden. I haven't tried the pizzas but I hear only good things.

Hmmmm...how can all of this be fresh? Well, I have tried one dish from here and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I think it might have been a Lamb Tikka Masala or something similar, but the Lamb was real, the flavour was authentic and the sauce tasted fresh. It's not the best Curry I've ever had, but for a quick filler on the way home after a night in the pub, it does the job.

I didn't feel rushed though, and bf loved the immediate arrival of beer to his hand. Food wise, I was tempted by a few things on this interesting Bangladeshi menu and got some helpful and decisive advice from the waiter. In the end I want for the chicken thawa which wasn't particularly unusual in flavour (I chickened out of the satkora fruit option which I will get next time) but very well done and a very generous portion. I thought the aloo gobi was the best I've had in ages. We also tried onion bhajis and I would say Blue Nile is slightly beaten out by Stockport rival Last Monsoon in terms of flavour and crispiness. Bf had lamb handi which he really enjoyed - the meat was tender and not at all stringy or dry. Definitely recommend if you like lamb. As above service is very good and it's a nice restaurant with some cool tropical fish tanks in the walls. Kind of reminds me of the Purple Pakora in Poynton. Overall this is yet another good restaurant in the independent Hazel Grove scene (we commented on Friday that the chains have not moved in here, which is maybe why there is such diversity and quality) and I will be sure to come back.

We were warmly greeted to the pleasantly old fashioned and cosy restaurant and ordered pretty extensively off the menu while we were brought some complimentary prawn crackers. We shared a dim sum/combo platter that did old favourites like prawn toast and spring rolls really well. The dim sum (shi mai and har gau) wasn't bad either. Main courses were standard but tasted freshly cooked or at least piping hot. I didn't have that mucky feeling afterwards that you sometimes get from cheap Chinese food. We were definitely on at least three stars then right at the end, along with some fortune cookies, we were given two complimentary glasses of Bailey's. Both the boyf and I really appreciate a small business working hard to please their customers (me especially having been brought up in one) so we're definitely fans now and this is likely to become our local for Chinese food.
