Husband had the scampi arabiata -- several big shrimp, it has a nice red sauce (slightly spicy) and came with a salad, and roasted rosemary potatoes (pretty good). I had the fried chicken liver salad. There was really no batter but it had some kind of marinade that was good. Ate it up! 2 kids had a margherita pizza each. They ate most of it. 4 options on kids menu! Overall meal was 68 Euros. No credit card. Staff was friendly, tried to use English. We had to wave her down a few times for the bill. You can't really miss it as it's located in an old hut right at the beach Övelgönne. With 37F out there people were sunbathing (wrapped in their jackets like Eskimos, of course) and it's clear that this is one of Hamburg's hot spots to chill (or walk the beach). Strandperle serves coffee & tea, as well as soups and snacks. It's usually packed but the line moved quickly when I was there. I admit that I'm a tourist in Hamburg but this place is on my list whenever I'm back in the city.
