Stayed in the Conch Villa as part of a pretty large wedding event. The first impression when…read moredriving into the place was, "What could possibly be back here that is going to work for a wedding?" However, the answer to that was surprisingly great. The villas have separate rooms with common areas and the one I was in had three bedrooms. The bedroom situation was similar to a hotel room. A nice comfortable bed, a private bathroom, generous closet space, and - most importantly - a good stable temperature even with the thermostat being out in the hall. A ceiling fan helps with circulation, which is great too. The only real downside I can think of is that two of the bedrooms are on the second floor, and you need to take this into account with your luggage as there are no elevators. Well, that and the fact that the finish of the stairs blend into the floor at the bottom so if you are older this might make for a physical perception problem as well. Anyway... Parking is a little tight when the place is full, but the location worked out really well for the wedding ceremony. Out on the point you can see the sunset across the water in the evening. Manatees frequent the dock which are a sight to behold. Across the dock there was a nice flat area on hard sand that was perfect for the reception. Yes, there are water activities including dolphin interactions across the boarder from what are the villas, but I can't make any comment on that part since I didn't manage to even visit over there.

You can't buy a soft drink on the property or anything like snacks or sundries so make absolutely sure you have everything BEFORE you settle in. Maybe other rooms are different... That's it. You have to decide what you value more when staying here. I'd give it 3 stars based upon my preferences vs. the nightly room rate.

It was very cold on the weekend that we were there, so we used the extra blanket in the closet. There's a dock to hangout on but it was too windy and cold to hangout for too long. There's a tiny "beach" (see picture). There are a lot of nice places to relax outside. There was parking directly in front of our room. The prices were reasonable. I liked that they had no carpet in the rooms. The internet works most of the time and the AC worked well. Beds were comfortable. There is no housekeeping service except between guests. There is no food or restaurant on the premises but you can walk to a bar and restaurant. If you have a car or Uber there are plenty of restaurants close by. The diving. I dove with them for 5 days. have been certified for 38 years. The staff is Highly trained and knowledgeable. I noticed that Erica and January did the bulk of the work when they were on board, the guys tried to look busy. January and Erica were both very helpful, courteous and made us feel welcome. Other standouts were Nick Christina,and Tom, again they made us feel welcomed. The boat. Pontoon style, good speed, plenty of room, many ways to exit and ladders. The dives, most were on Molasses reef with a few others including Christ of the Abyss and the Benwood wreck. The visibility varied by day. The best thing about their dives is that they are fairly shallow 20 to 35 ft So it is very safe , ideal for beginners and great if you have not dove in a while.
