Came as part of a large group for a work lunch, we had two large tables and excellent service. I had the fancy burger with the smoked pepper aioli on the side - I was worried it would be too spicy, but it was great. Our server was excellent. Parking can be a challenge in this area, but I was fortunate to find a spot out front. If going with a large group, I recommend carpooling.

Great burger! Nice, hip design of the bar/restaurant. Came here midday on a weekday for lunch and it was quiet and relaxing.

Really cute vibes and a nice place for a meal with solid drinks and sandwiches! Butterjoint had a casual but really nice atmosphere, with some really cute decorations. Their house cocktails were all pretty unique and interesting, my favorite was the sage and grapefruit one, nice strong flavors. Fancy chicken sandwich was fantastic, chicken fried perfectly with kimchi and sauce with a little kick, definitely recommend. The tallow fries are also worth it, very crispy with good flavor. Getting any of their sandwiches would be my recommendation honestly. On the other hand, I think their pierogis are fine, pretty solid but a little over priced at $4 per Perogi for the shared plate. Don't think it's a must try, but the sandwiches and desserts are worth coming in for!

Absolutely phenomenal burger at butterjoint, paired with some of the best fries in the city. The Diet Coke is nice and fizzy/cold and the service behind the counter was excellent. Also this spot reminds me of a good New York joint with dark lightning and low cozy ceilings. Love this spot!

Such a cozy and cute spot with excellent service. Got the kale Caesar and the pierogi with sausage. Best pierogi I've had and I can't wait to get it again!

Big fan of the cow shaped cream dispenser. It came with our coffee. Vinegar pie does not disappoint! Service was really fast and I love how you can just walk in without a reservation because it's such an unexpectedly big place!

We arrived, and the host immediately seated us. It wasn't busy, and there were plenty of tables available. Our waitress was lovely and cheerful; love her vibe and aesthetic. I couldn't quite make sense of the restaurant's theme. One room had retro wallpaper while near the entrance, the ceiling was adorned with Oriental lanterns. I suppose they were going for an eclectic vibe? We got the bread and butter, and it was delightful. The butter was made with cranberry, coriander, and a hint of either lemon or lime, I think. I never knew a butter mixture could be so tasty. I also ordered the chicken salad, and it was hearty. It was quite large, so I had to take the leftovers home. Overall, it's a classic American restaurant with delicious meals. I'll come back, especially for that bread and fruit butter!

Everything about my meal here was wonderful. From the wait staff to the chef coming to our table to check in and tell us about the specials to the actual dishes themselves, my entire party walked away raving. We were treated to delicious homemade pop tarts, a phenomenal sausage patty, eggs Benedict, and a Dutch baby. It truly didn't matter if it was sweet or savory, every bite was delectable. My group enjoyed the meal, ambiance, and time connecting with the staff tremendously. I was in town for a sports event, but if I'm ever back in town, I would absolutely stop in again!

I recently re-visited Butterjoint for dinner. I made a reservation online and our table was ready when I arrived. For my drink, I orderer the 'bartender's choice' cocktail. I think they do a great job with their bartenders choice cocktail every time! We ordered some apps for the table. We ordered the 'Lumps' which are Japanese milk bread rolls and the Falafel, which comes with a cucumber salad. For my entree, I ordered the butterjoint burger. It is served with their tallow fries. Honestly, I think it's one of the best burgers in the city. So good! I also took home a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Overall, our experience from start to finish was great! Definitely check out Butterjoint!

We stopped into Butterjoint for a quick bite and drink, and it was delightful. The bar lighting is very moody, and the music is great. Our bartender was very friendly and quickly took our drink orders. He checked in with us regularly, and we ended up having a great conversation about Coldplaygate. I opted for the fries, which are made in beef tallow. They. Were. Amazing. And so is the aioli. They were so fresh and crispy, and the aioli was the perfect pairing. My friend ordered the salad, and she was very happy with it. The veggies were crisp and fresh, and the dressing was a great accompaniment. We will definitely be back!

Wish I had taken a picture of the pierogis because I will remember them forever. Can't wait to go back for more! And the French fries were tasted like when you had McDonalds for the first time as a child. So so so good. Chicken sandwich was good, no complaints but it didn't blow me away or anything. Sat outside but the seating inside looked really cool and the staff is super friendly and welcoming!

Went with some friends for dinner here and had a good time! The chicken sandwhich was huge! My friend and I split both the chicken sandwhich and the fancy burger and they were both 10/10. Vibes are cute and our server was super nice.

Steak frites was amazing, so flavorful. The beer selection was great, many obscure small breweries. Don't miss the Vinegar pie!

The whole space-themed concept makes it feel like an experience, not just a night out. The vibes are fun, a little quirky, and perfect if you want something outside the usual bar scene. When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. It's been a while that I've moved out of Pittsburgh; I've found other bars that I like, but nothing has quite replaced Gooski's in my heart. I make a point to pay my respects every time I return here. Hardly anything has changed on the interior in the last 30 years. And I hope it never does. It's dark, it's grimy, it's smoky, it's quintessentially Pittsburgh. Crowd has always been an effervescent mix of ages and walks of life. The beer selection is wide and affordable. First, I wish I would have bought a Gooski's shirt. I have no idea if they had them when I visited but I totally forgot to check when I was there. It feels like the kind of place that if you're wearing this shirt in your hometown a Pittsburgh native would stop you on the street to tell you, "Gooski's is legendary." I wish I was there for the cheap ass drinks and edgy vibe when a band was playing as I love a punk rock vibe, but I think I was there too early in the day for that. The staff was cool, the drinks were exactly what you'd expect, and it's the kind of place that I'd spend way too much time in if I lived in Pittsburgh.
