They ARE SO SWEET AND ACCOMMODATING. I'm from out of town and my dog needed a groom, they stepped up to the plate, stayed after hours just to get her right. I was having a rough week being in town for a funeral and was hard to find time outside of family and they made it work! Being a first time dog owner, this is all new to me. The cleanliness of the salon and photos drew me in to Butter Paws! The prices seemed fairly reasonable too. I had a specific look I wanted for my Evie and Tiffani did not disappoint. The first appointment, Tiffani recommended just a bath and quick face trim since Evie was just turning 4 months. She wanted to ease her in and see how comfortable she would be before doing more. It took about an hour to 1.5 hours and Evie was in great condition! We came back 2 weeks later for a full trim and Tiffani did an amazing job! She even took measurements, to ensure a consistent cut for future visits. We have been coming here for over a year, but no more after today. Their communication has never been excellent, but Marti was amazing, and she was the reason why we used to be returning customers. She has retired now, so you get what you get, even when you request a particular groomer. The other day, I requested Kate, but she called in sick. Instead of letting us know and giving us the decision on whether to keep our appointment, they assigned my dog to a new groomer that did not have a lot of experience and took an extremely long time to groom my dog. I was told an estimate of 1 hr to 1 hr & half. They took 2 hours!! ( during week day & middle of morning, not busy at all) Again it's the lack of communication & professionalism that erks me. I have a rescue dog that really needed to be groomed. I explained over the phone that she was a year old poodle and I was not sure how she would respond to being groomed because she had been neglected and mistreated. They were nice over the phone. I took her and she was very calm with the groomer. They told the time they would have her ready and it was to the minute. I picked her up and they did an outstanding job grooming her and they were gently with her. I will definitely refer all my friends to take their pets there. As a first-time fur mom, I was super nervous about taking my fur baby, Milo, for his first grooming. I wasn't sure how he'd react to strangers grooming him, especially since I struggle with the basics myself. To my surprise, Milo's grooming session went smoother than I could've imagined! I was also worried about how his haircut would turn out, but Tiffany did an amazing job! Milo looks great, and it's clear he was well taken care of. One thing I really appreciated is that Butter Paws has an open space where fur parents can see everything being done to their fur babies. Have to start this with I hardly ever leave reviews and I hate leaving bad reviews on small businesses, but what occurred yesterday was completely unacceptable. Since French Bulldogs can be very sensitive, I was extremely careful on choosing where to take our girls. This is the second time I have taken them here, the first time there were no issues at all. We picked our girls up yesterday around 45 min after they sent the text they were ready as they were ready a bit earlier than expected. As soon as we walked in the door, I could hear one of our dogs, Layla, panting loudly and struggling to breathe while she was locked in the kennel. When they brought her over to us, she was clearly in severe respiratory distress. I asked how long has she been like this and the front desk girl said "probably about 20 minutes" and they never thought once to call myself or my fiancé whose numbers are both on file?! I asked if they had given her water or tried to help her in anyway, to which she said we offered water but Layla refused. I was extremely worried about her breathing and I asked if she could get her a bowl of water before we left and sure enough Layla started chugging the water. I don't think she was ever really offered anything. There was no apology or no attempt to check on a bradycephalic dog breed, locked in a kennel, struggling to breathe, with 3 employees working in a small shop. By the time we got to the car, her tongue had turned blue. We had to rush her to the emergency vet where she had to be sedated and hooked up to oxygen for 4 hours. It got to the point they asked me if she got any worse would we want CPR done on her. $500 later at the ER, our girl is safe at home and doing much better. All because this negligent dog groomers ignored a dog in clear distress and did absolutely nothing for "20 minutes" while my dog couldn't breathe. She could have died under their care. Do NOT take your pets here if you want them to be safely looked after. One of the scariest days of my life. This place should not be allowed to care for animals. read more

I had a 12:00 PM appointment on a Monday to bring my Frenchie-Chihuahua in for a bath, nail trim, and teeth cleaning, a service that should've taken 45 minutes (she is so easy). I arrived early at 11:50 AM, dropped her off, and left to run errands, expecting her to be done within the hour. When I came back at 1:40 PM (nearly TWO hours later), I was shocked to find my dog still not groomed, locked in a tiny cubicle crying. The owner had the audacity to tell me, "Sorry, she's not ready. We were just about to start now," and then asked if I could come back in ANOTHER hour. So basically, they left my small dog confined and distressed for two hours and only decided to begin once I walked in. Completely unacceptable. This wasn't the first issue either, the first time I came, her nails were still long, and she didn't smell clean. The second time, I had to point that out for them to do a better job. I gave them a final chance this time, and it ended up being the worst experience yet. I will absolutely not be coming back, and I would not recommend this place to any pet parent who cares about how their dog is treated. read more

With the respiratory virus going around the US I opted to bring my pup to a smaller grooming salon so that she'd be in less contact with other dogs. I called on a Saturday morning and they were able to fit me in that day which was very accommodating. They asked a few questions over the phone and sent an intake packet via text. Drop off was smooth, no hassle. The waiting area is small especially if other dogs are checking in but it was quick so no problems. I got a call to pick up my girl and she had a cute bow and appeared dry. She's a double coat and it can be hard to tell on sight. The groomer said they were adding a charge because they didn't believe she was the weight I stated (63lb). I offered to show her last vet documents which stated her weight. The grooming tech just shrugged and said they had a "boxer a few weeks ago that was her same weight but he was skinny" so they were charging extra. I paid and tipped and politely declined the future scheduling. read more

Their attention to detail, such as noticing my dogs moles, and working around them, shows their commitment to providing personalized care for each pet.
