They told me they cleared bad codes and verified the good key is good, problem solved. They could've said it cost hundreds to fix-some dealerships quote over a thousand for new key and sensor- and I wouldn't know any better. A friend I trust recommended them. They are tucked away between 2 bigger businesses and in in 27 years here I never noticed them! That's a shame because I've had some bad experiences over the years. Not anymore!

The first 1972 240z I purchased locally pretty inexpensively where it only had 22,000 original miles. When I took it to Guy he called me to explain that it had been in a front end collision and wanted to come down to his shop to show me what he found. As disappointing as this news was to me Guy strongly advised getting another 240z. I found another '72 in Washington that was a no hit car and I decided to use the drivetrain from the first 240z that had the 22,000 miles on the engine, transmission, and suspension, and place that into the 240z I had purchased from Washington. Guy did the swap and helped me with all the work including replacing the suspension, a new AC system, and misc wants and needs. The car drives great and am VERY glad I found The Z Doctor to help me with a safe car to own and enjoy. Later, when I purchased a 1974 Datsun 260z I knew where to go. Unfortunately Guy was backed up and I tried to get another shop to help. Good luck finding a local mechanic that honestly knows all the these Z cars need. I took it to Guy once he had an opening and he made sure that he was pleased with all that the car needed. This car will belong to my wife and together we love our Z cars and could not be any happier with our mechanic, Guy, owner of The Z Doctor. If you have a Z car you need to take it to Guy. This IS what he does, work on the Z cars. He has so much experience with them you will be glad you did. He can help get the correct parts one way or another, be it new old stock, or re-manufactured. The work Guy completed was to remove all choke point emissions then installed a Weber Carb, new intake manifold, ceramic coated header and new exhaust. Homer Datsun runs like a champ! There was only one issue but it was completely out of the Z Doctor's hands. On my way home from picking up the truck, the throttle cable got a little sticky and I had to turn the vehicle off. It's the spark plugs AND they were unable to give me an accurate timeframe for how long it would take to do the job furthermore beyond fixing the Cat their idea was to trick the system in my car to not read the cat. I'm not a mechanic, but I am knowledgeable and none of this was right, any shade tree mechanic can give you an estimate of how long a job will do if they've done it before. Telling me it could take a couple of hours because of my vehicle, honestly highway robbery because NO SPARK PLUG CHANGE is going to take longer than an hour 9/10 times. DO NOT RECOMMEND
