Oh, the cutest! I'll admit that I haven't [yet] purchased anything here, mostly because I'm a miser with junky shoes, but if you are a shoe queen, you can't miss this place! It's a small space tucked away in Fabric Row, run by a British woman, who is very kind and sweet and even chic! Talking shoes with this woman made even me feel like my patronage at Aerosoles was equivalent to patronage at Wal-Mart. I felt like a cheap dirtball who never knew you could have a -gasp- pleasant shoe buying experience! The shoes range from boots to flats to heels to avant-garde to earthy casual. They're not all outrageously expensive, but if you wanted to pay a few hundred bucks for shoes here, I'm sure you could. I stopped going in here, because I obviously have a problem. Unfortunately, when they have their annual sale, I just can't help myself. This year, I went two days in a row. Randomly ran into friends both times - I'm obviously not the only one with this problem. I guess that made me feel better, because I bought two pairs of boots. Ouch. Pretty much the only store in Philly that carries all of my favorite brands - Toms, Irregular Choice, Jeffrey Campbell, All Black, Melissa, OTBT, etc. And, considering how small the store is, they have a decent selection for guys as well. I purchased a pair of Irregular Choice fuschia ankle boots from here, and I swear that every time I wear them, someone compliments me. Their selection of unique, bold shoes is unparalleled. About once a season, I travel to Philly to visit my boyfriend, Bob (who usually comes to me in Ann Arbor). Such trips are respites from the normal pace of life. I do yoga. We ride bikes. I go shopping at places I stumble upon like Bus Stop. It's not the window that attracted me to walk into the shop. It is, simply, that I've been trying to find shoes by ordering discounted pairs on line and it's no way to shop for shoes. So I went to a shoe store. Once in, I was never in a million years going to try on a thing. But then the most delightful sales person I've ever met started talking. I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but I am extremely grateful that I met her when I did. She let me try on thing after thing, so finally, I went back to the first magnificent pair of boots I saw in the shop, and bought them. I'll be back for a pair of the wingtips this winter. All of my favorite shoes come from Bus Stop. The shop is well curated, clean and full of unique, beautiful and well-made shoes. The best thing about Bus Stop, other than the extremely sweet owner, is the perfect blend of every day shoes and one-of-a-kind show stoppers. This is also one of the boutiques that I can drag my boyfriend into because they have a pretty decent men's selection. The British woman who owns this place is so delightful! She really knows her products and picks them carefully. She also makes a point to support local entrepreneurs and businesses. She welcomes you to the store with offers of sangria and water. The best part is that sometimes she holds warehouse sales where you can find amazing deals. I got a great pair of flats for $25 and I will cry when they wear out (imminent). I love this boutique, and the incredibly generous, and kind owner. The shoes and bags are so unique and wonderful, you have to go in, at least just to look around! I went in looking for shoes to take to Paris for a vacation, and the boots I originally wanted weren't available in my size. So, the owner brought out several different options, and I chose a pair of ballet flats instead. Having my heart set on the boots I went back the next day to see if it was possible to order them in my size. The other woman, who also worked at the boutique was also more than accommodating and brought out several more options. Eventually, after trying on several styles, she suggested that I try on the half size down in the boots I originally wanted, as they ran big. I tried them on and they fit like a glove! I wore them today, and they are amazing!! Everything I ever buy from bus stop is absolutely worth every penny and the owner and other girl who works there are amazing!!
