This particular Publix is located in the Shoppes at Rainbow Landing. They have a huge parking lot. The inside is bright and cheerful and this ambiance makes shopping more enjoyable. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars.

Produce section isn't enormous, but they have everything you would need and the prices are upwards of 1/2 that of the other local places. Typical grocery store items through the middle, canned foods, boxed foods, etc, you know what you'll find in a grocery store. Where these guys really shine is their meat department. Great quality and really good prices. Always able to find some good options for cooking for the week. Highly recommend this place if you are anywhere in the area .... especially for their meat. They charged her for 2 quarts of ice cream and never delivered it even though they report that they did on the website. This may not seem like a big deal to most people but to my grandmother it is. When I called Walmart in Attalla they could not do a thing. Not even make it right by just delivering the products that they charged her for. They tried to give me a damn number. The first extremely rude person that I spoke with was April. I pulled a Karen and asked for what I thought was going to be the manager and a dude name Matthew picked up the phone and tried to give me a number to call. He also went into some word vomit about "our drivers" and "insurance". "Our drivers:" and this Walmart is the ones that charged a 90 year old lady that has been a LOYAL customer for more years than that assistant Matthew has been alive. Hell he wasnt even alive when Walmart was where Johnsons is now. My problem is this TERRIBLE service recovery. I am bypassing the actual store manager (Matthew introduced himself as store manager) and am calling Walmart corporate tomorrow. This is no way to treat loyal customers. Disgusting and lazy as hell. I personally hate Walmart and always have but my grandmother prefers to patronize this shitty store so I am going to pursue this.

All in all this grocery store is pretty good. They have some stuff that the other local places…read moredon't have and they run some pretty good special (sale) prices. Really like the drink selection (not related to soda), lots of flavored waters and at a reasonable price. Meat selection always seems to be really fresh and reasonable prices. Also, typically, cuts don't seem to be overly fatty. Bakery department has a good selection of breads and dessert (cakes, cookies, ice cream cakes, etc) available and at similar prices as you would pay anywhere else. They have really good rates for the propane bottle exchange too (less than $17). Staff is always friendly and helpful and keep checkout lines moving quickly. Overall store cleanliness is always spot on. Not a lot of clutter or appearance that they need to do cleaning. Really like this store and continue shopping here.

So this review is pretty standard, except I can say that I learned something new at this Walmart last Saturday. As we were walking with our items towards the Garden Center to check out, we were asked by an associate it we were ready to check out. I thought she was the check out person in Garden and was going to go back with us and take care of us. Nope! She was actually a mobile check out clerk. She had a buggy and a scanner and if we were paying via card, was able to check us out, bag our stuff and print a receipt. Pretty cool process actually. I guess I really expected there to be a large selection of meats. When we went there were a few things, but nothing that really wowed us...also, what they did have was kind of on the spendy side. Not sure if we hit them at a bad time and they had low supply or if this is the norm. They also had coolers of frozen foods that you could meal prep. Things like okra and other veggies. Also, they did have some meat rubs and sauces that were kinda original. We'd come back and check it out again if we are in the area and possibly buy something so we could try it out next time....but, I'd want to be in the area .... I probably wouldn't go far out of my way to swing by here.
