Brian Lawler from Van Winkle Law Firm represented me in a very complex case with highly emotional…read moreundertones. He took this case on after two other attorneys (not with Van Winkle) had failed to develop strategies that would safeguard my son's rights. Brian developed a strategy that fit the specifics of the case. He asked questions, he listened, and provided reassurance when needed. During the hearing he introduced facts and valid arguments based on logic and reason rather than the fiction and innuendo presented by opposing counsel. Brian was knowledgeable about courtroom procedure. He was always professional and respectful. He was able to work as a team with my son's attorney to achieve the desired outcome! This review is an expression of my heartfelt appreciation for the legal work that Brian did on behalf of my son and I.

I left a voicemail with her admin that day, but never heard back. On Tuesday, Feb. 17, I called back again. This time her admin did answer and told me she didn't receive a voicemail from me on Monday, Feb. 16. I explained what was going on and why I was seeking legal help. The admin took down my information, explained pricing (just fyi the pricing I was quoted for the per hour rate at this firm is roughly in the 89th percentile when compared to the average per hour rates of attorneys in the state of NC) and told me she would need to run a "Conflict of Interest" form. The admin told me she would get back to me by the close of business on Tuesday, February 17 or at the latest, Monday, February 23. Apparently, the admin was going on vacation and would be out of the office February 18-20. Today is Thursday, February 26 and I still had not received a call back from this admin. I just called and the admin told me she had been really busy since returning from vacation and was trying to get caught up...not my problem at all! She explained that my "Conflict of Interest" form came back ok but that she was waiting to hear from Mrs. Goldstein as to whether or not she would be interested in the case. The admin told me they are really busy and can't always get back to potential clients within 24 hours...10 days is significantly different than 24 hours, which is how long it had been since my initial contact with the firm. I don't have a problem paying a premium for potential services that will be rendered by a professional. However, having said that, I do expect premium customer service in return...that simply was not the case with my experience with this firm. So, now, I am 10 days in to this process and starting back over at square one!

Messages went unanswered, court dates were missed, and basic details on my paperwork were still wrong after multiple attempts to correct them. We worked specifically with Lisa Rothman and her team. Our initial meeting was productive and encouraging. Through her expertise and a very hard-working paralegal (Justine), we moved the estate forward at rapid speed. Her fees were reasonable; the court filings were handled expeditiously. Her access to other needed resources (CPA's, real estate guidance, ancillary probate, etc.) was invaluable. At no time did I feel that the process was not moving forward. As the court appointed Administrator, I was able to navigate the process with ease and confidence. I am so appreciative of everything this firm has done to support my family during a difficult time. I highly recommend this firm to anyone in need of quality, professional Legal counsel. Leslie P.
