Have got to say - calling Phil at Burning Curiosity was a great decision. He visited and promptly provided tips and suggestions for making my requests a reality. We are having work done in two bathrooms and kitchen. I took my elderly mother along to the shop today and the staff were really helpful explaining the differences between the fires. We settled on a remote control version as it'll be much easier for her to operate due to her limited mobility. Awful experience with this company. They took over 2 weeks to complete a simple wood burner install for my 75 year mother. They made lots of mistakes on the install (including the lintel). She had to find her own plasterer to right the mess they made of the chimney breast. She also had to get the mantelpiece put on by someone else. The stone hearth is in 5 pieces and looks a mess. Reading their terms on the contract they take no responsibility for any damage to your property. They say they only have to plaster 6 inches from the opening they create, but they still smash 2 foot of plaster off your wall. They also just handed a 75 year old woman a CO alarm but claimed on the HETAS certificate that they had installed it for her. Avoid at all costs!!! read more

I WAS NOT SATISFIED with BURNING CURIOSITY in Ormskirk service, the work lasted very long and with difficulties - PROBLEMS WITH ORDERING some part of stove, PROBLEMS WITH FITTING (worker who has been sent out had not a idea how to fit the stove and ending up braking my stove), POOR COMMUNICATION (when I phoned the office and ask about stove I always get told the boss will call me same day and he never did call me, always next day) and UNPROFESSIONAL WORK-TEAM. Finally when I wanted some sort of discount for inconvenience it was suggested to me very ridiculous discount (from £2459, he gave me discount of £59).
