You can order any way you like it with the "build your own" option, or you can try one of their unique specialty burgers. I personally had the Waboo and it was really good. I chose to have a side of onion rings and they were delicious. My friend had the fries and they were spiced to perfection. Heads up! This is the type of place where you go to the counter to order and they bring it out to you. In addition, you get your own drinks, etc. With this type of place/ordering style, you are put on the spot to produce a tip when you pay even though you haven't received any service yet and you are going to be waiting on yourself for the most part anyway. Burger Barn is the latest to open up in the first phase of the Pavilion at Durbin Creek in the St Johns area. The first phase will house a multi-tenant shopping area and once complete, it will rival the local Jacksonville shopping areas like the Town Center. As for me, I feel like the Burger Gods is talking to me because I am now within distance of some good burger joints; Burger Barn being one of them. You can get a great burger anywhere, but what makes a burger joint even better is the "X Factor".... THE Fries. And Burger Barn has that X Factor because they serve seasoned fries, which I am a sucker for. In layman's terms... Burger + Fries = Dynamic Duo. Dynamic Duos like Batman & Robin, Scooby & Shaggy, Maverick & Goose.... and hell, I'll even throw Bruce Jenner & Caitlyn Jenner in there (pfft). Burger Barn also serve Beers as well which makes it a Trifecta. The selection of Craft Beers is limited however, which I hope they had more to choose from aside from the regular Domestic Beers. LOVE this new establishment in the neighborhood..... Burger Barn Grill is brand new, located at The Pavilion at Durbin Park. I especially LOVE that they are just 3 miles away. I am all for convenience. Now I know where to go for that cheeseburger craving during lunch while working at home. The floors were marked for proper distancing. For our very first visit we kept it pretty simple, my husband and I both ordered a cheeseburger, fries and onion rings. They were all cooked to perfection. I have to admit I am very picky about cheeseburgers. Lol. I don't eat meat often but I love a very good cheeseburger and fresh ingredients. This was just right! Not too thin or overwhelming in size. Bun isn't overly thick which is a plus! The burgers are fresh certified angus beef. Fries and onion rings were hot out of the fryer. We were both satisfied with everything. We are here at The Pavilion at Durbin Park often. It is definitely growing. When all the phases are completed, this will be the largest shopping center in Northeast Florida. This is located at the intersection of Racetrack Rd and Bartram Park Blvd. RECOMMEND: Yes I definitely recommend this brand new establishment for that burger craving. Great menu! Tried Burger Barn last night because the place we originally wanted to go had a 50 minute wait. My husband was craving a good burger. I just needed a simple salad. The good news is, the sweet potato fries were amazing and they have really good honey mustard. The disappointment was how small the burger patty was. He ended up getting some kind of jalapeño spicy Jack burger, which was messy and loaded with toppings however, it was cooked to a medium rare. It was quite pink inside. We didn't say anything. He continued to eat it, but it was just such a small, thin, burger patty. We ended up having to stop at McDonald's and get him a second Burger, as he was still hungry when we left. My husband is a very physically fit man that treats himself to a nice burger once a week and is very protein conscious always looking for thick fresh burgers so this was a disappointment and we won't be going back. The service was good though I have to give them that, it was friendly. The place seemed to clean and like I said the sweet potato fries were awesome. My salad was fine. This place is an 'order at the front then sit down at whatever table you choose' type of restaurant. The overall look of it doesn't appeal to me. It could also use more TV's, especially so that people could watch different games going on for that night. Employees here are pretty friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger with an egg on it. I thought the other sides would come along with it, but it didn't. So be mindful that you really have to build your own burger. If I had a choice to go to Five Guys, M-Shack, Burger Barn, or Red Robin - I'd choose either Red Robin or M-Shack. You just get more and it's worth the money. That burger is now my favorite version in Jax. The patties were close to being smash burgers which I love. The onions were so thin but carried the flavor the whole meal and had a satisfying bite. We ordered a double cheese burger with Swiss, a regular burger, a Mac daddy, which is a burger with macaroni and cheese on it, a kids chicken tender meal, two drinks and lastly a large fry and large onion ring. I ordered a side of fries, which were also tasty and came out cooked in fresh oil. This was one of the best boutique burger shop burgers that I have ever had. The location is convenient in the Durbin Creek Pavilion with ample parking; making it a great place to stop in before, during, or after a shopping trip to one of the many surrounding stores.
