Agreed, the tour guide, dressed in the costume of the time, spoke only German, but Bamberg is really more of a German tourist destination, not that many English speakers come here, so they don't have a lot of tours in English. However, for those that understand the language, he did a good job of covering history and with some witty anecdotes. There wasn't a lot of things to see, and he spent most of the time standing in one room or another telling us the history of the place. It sounds like staying there would be a step back in time, but as a tour, there wasn't a lot shown. It was an ok tour, but not a lot to see in general. read more

Excellent food. Great service. My wife had the duck and loved it too. They were very kind to our small children and made them their own little dish of Spätzle each. Very good value for your money. Very recommendable.
