We were fortunate to spend a full week at Tenuta Lonciano recently as one of 4 couples. The villa…read moreis located in the hills above Sesto Fiorentino with an expansive view of the town below. The villa is rented out (in full I believe) part of the year and serves as a B&B the other part. Daniele met us when we arrived to give us the lay of the land (and instructions on how to work the doors/locks!), pointing out each bedroom in the villa. Our room ("Uva" or grape) had a separate kitchenette and full bathroom with a built-in hair dryer. Daniele was quite charming and a graceful host.
The villa has a few different outdoor seating areas for lounging, eating, sleeping...anything you need. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities for cooking meals at home and there is a clothes washer if you are in need. (No dryer but there are clothes lines around for that.) They also have a ping pong table and provide some lawn games and board games if you need something to do.
There are a few restaurants near by and the train station was a (relatively) easy 15 minutes drive. (If you don't get lost in the round-abouts!)
I highly recommend spending time at Tenuta Lonciano if your travel plans allow. Ciao!
