Let me see how to explain this....Bungert is a department store with a warehouse feel when you are in the grocery store portion. Upstairs is clothing, fashion and household items. The selection is good and my understanding from local friends and family is the pricing is very competitive on food and household items - not so much on the clothing and fashion department. The fashion areas have evolved into upscale boutiques. There is also a restaurant, travel agent, florist, news stand and gas station. This is the place I go first when I hit town to stock up on staples like chocolate, wine, beer, meat and cheese. One stop shopping indeed. If you are looking for a one stop shop, this is it! Groceries (noticed some common American items) We intended to buy some groceries but couldn't go through the check-out clerk line since she would not let me pay at the register with a credit card. I took the items to the book counter and had no issues. We also bought some clothes, separate transaction, upstairs. While it was only a few new-born items, it was really expensive. Had I had a VAT form, I would have received about 25e back. Nice selection of clothes. We could have spent more time there but were in a rush to get to a baby shower. We will definitely go back and take some time to take it all in. read more
