When you have staff going on a break in the general seating area, sitting in uniform at one of the cleaner tables, watching cartoons on an tablet whilst tables needed to be cleaned and rubbish swept off the floor it draws your attention to the general lack of care from the staff (or the management). I couldn't find a clean table, every table had someones empty cartons/bags on it. The floor had food/discarded rubbish. There were no serviettes or straws at the condiments table, and all the bins were near capacity. McDonalds is such a standardised experience now that the expectation is for a clean restaurant, friendly service, and consistent food quality. This baseline service level needs to be maintained - on this occasion they fell well short of the mark.
