Seriously my favorite hair salon in all of the greater LA area. I went to school at Pepperdine almost a decade ago and even then all my sorority sisters only trusted Parris to do their hair color. Now that I'm back living in LA and doing crazy things like cutting off most of my hair and bleaching it blonde and blue, there is no one else I'd go to besides Parris. I drive over 30 miles to see her and it's worth it every time. Going through big transitions with hair can be really scary, it feels very much like letting someone see the most vulnerable side of you, but Parris has been so encouraging and accepting every step of the way. I consider myself so lucky. I found Holly a few years ago when I was looking for a new hair stylist and I have never looked back. She is talented, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful and always so willing to answer my hair questions. Though I only see her once every 3 months, she always remembers hair concerns I've had and checks in. (I wish my doctor was that thoughtful!) I have been getting my hair colored and cut by Parris at Bungalow 21 for almost 9 months. She is the first person who has cut my hair right and I am 52. She is amazing with color and knows how to cut my curly hair. I love the salon, the staff that work there as well. It is so great if I am running between appointments and I need a coffee or snack I know I am able to grab one in the cafe where they have the best baked goods and coffee. I had my eyelashes done by Gianna at Bungalow 21 in Calabasas. I was lucky enough to have Gianna do my hair when I found out she also does lashes. I was new to lash extensions and wasn't sure what to expect. They look fantastic!!! I wanted natural looking lashes and Gianna did such a great job. She is skilled and so sweet. Located in a new shopping strip between Las Virgenes Road and Mont Calabasas Drive. Plenty of parking. Quiet area. This place has a modern boho feel. It has a large outdoor patio in the back for clients to relax if they want to. There's a mercantile shop and a cafe (iced chai tea latte with almond milk, yum!). Sometimes they hold events here to benefit animal rescues, which I think is awesome. I've been going to Parris when she was located at Cleo Annex. Once she opened Bungalow 21, which is a little bit further from me, I still continued to get my hair done by her - that's how much I trust her with my hair! I def recommend this place. Set up an appointment for a hair trim with the salon. Never received a confirmation the day before like I get with other salons, but thought maybe they just don't do that. When I arrived, greeted by a very nice front desk person. But waited. And waited. 20 minutes later, owner walked in and asked if I had an appointment. I said yes, and she called the stylist, but their was some sort of scheduling confusion and Parris said I could come back at 3pm for the stylist I was to see OR get a quick cut with her. I chose her. She was great and I was happy to be able to be seen close to the time I scheduled way in advance. Price for quick trim was a little pricy, but she said she could help with my color and so I said I'd come back. Tried texting her to set up appointment, no response. Called the salon, said I had to text/call her to set it up. Ended up going somewhere else. She texted back almost a week later. Not worth the hassle. read more

My hairdresser - Dennis Harris- is an absolute genius when it comes to color, curls, and shine! She has been doing my hair for the past few years, keeping it healthy, wonderfully cut and amazingly colored. My whites are always covered, and my curls do not get dry and damaged- but shiny and enhanced! She's one of the only people I feel comfortable enough to tell if something is hurting, or I don't like something. She won't let you leave until you're fully satisfied. I got two rows of weft extensions and k tips on the side. You can't tell the different between where my hair stop and the extensions are. She makes it look SOOO natural I can't even believe it. She acts as though she is extremely busy all the time and tells customers that she is doing them a favor by squeezing them in even though she charges them full price. I gave this gal 2 chances hoping i was mistaken about her attitude. Nope...she could care less about us. Both times she disappointed. I went to see Parris, the salon's owner who is ridiculously talented! She has the incredible talent to give you the hair of your dreams, whether you want to go lighter darker, just a trim, or a complete chop. Once CA salons open back up, do NOT hesitate to give this place a call. Your quarantine hair will be glad you did! I haven't tried any of the other services here yet, but there are others there who specialize in brows, lashes, and skin. I know I will give them all a try soon! I've also been meaning to check out their cute little coffee shop. I think they can personalize your lattes! This place is so conveniently located too and has PLENTY of parking! Secondly, she completely listens to your hair cut/styling requests! I've been to so many hairdressers that ask you what you're looking for and then proceed to do what THEY want.. and it's usually shorter than I want! She does not do that.. Lastly, she really does a thorough and thoughtful job with cutting and styling your hair. She knows what she's doing! Had an appointment with LUCY DANIELS 1 year ago. I came in first for a consultation, then I scheduled my appointment. Came in for my appointment & after my appointment my hair looked and felt better but I did not have a Balayage ombre. My hair honestly did not even look that much different from when I came in that day.... She kept saying the second appointment is where I'll see the difference & have the balayage ombre I came in for & paid to have... she stated the price i was paying that day was AlSO for my next appointment.. this is something I didn't bring up or suggest. Who suggested this? Lucy did. Why did I do this? Because I was told the second appointment is where I would see a difference & so she told me to just pay for the next one & schedule which I did do right then and there. Then right before my next appointment date due to the pandemic everything shut down & I had to reschedule my appointment. I contacted Lucy countless times trying to figure out my appointment that Was already paid for. I rescheduled the appointment again once the shut down was lifted and then she had to reschedule me, and then of course the shut down happened again before my next appointment. Like I said, I had contacted het countless times during the shut down and once it was lifted trying to come in for my appointment I never got. Once the shut down was completely lifted, everytime I contacted her to schedule it it was never a good time and she would always give me some excuse and tell me she'd contact me later but never did. After my last attempt she again gave me a BS excuse and never contacted me. I waited until exactly 1 year had gone by since I had paid for my appointment to see if she'd do the right, progressional and honorable thing and contact me like she said she would but never did. I finally hit her up after a year had gone by and I expressed to her how frustrated I was that I had paid for this appointment I still never got and when she did do my hair, I paid for something she didn't do. I paid for a balayage ombre and that's not what I had at all. I nicely let her know that I would like to schedule the appointment I already paid for or I'd like to be refunded for the cost since I paid for the 2nd appointment that she never fulfilled. The last thing I ever thought was that she would try to be scandalous & lie claiming I never paid for a second appointment in advance. Absolutely unbelievable. I wasted hundreds of dollars for absolutely nothing. My experience was horrible & an absolute waste. Waste of money obviously and waste of my time. This experience was very unfortunate & it's unfortunate that Lucy Daniels is dishonest, unprofessional, dishonorable & a theif. I consider what she did stealing. She clearly does not value her customers or care to make things right. Hope it was worth it Lucy! You may feel like you got away with this but unfortunately, YOU WILL have to deal with the consequences of your behavior, dishonesty and actions sooner or later. Karma will get you. I'm writing this review to obviously share my horrible, unfortunate experience.
