We invest so much in our lives in maintaining our material possessions... our house, car, etc. It…read morewasn't until I went through some personal tragedy that I realized that the biggest asset I own is my mental health. I saw Denise for a number of years and she really helped me work through some of my biggest life problems and obstacles. I still hear her voice in my head giving me guidance, sometimes on a almost daily basis. Denise gave me the ability to feel sorry for instead of hate the person who perpetrated a crime against me, she helped me find inner confidence to believe in myself and to recognize that I deserve the best in life, and she gave me the ability to handle all of life's challenges by focusing on the positive and - on the flip side - asking "what's the worst that can happen?" and then embracing that potential outcome as a possibility. Denise knows when to laugh with you, when to empathize, when to let you draw your own conclusions, and when to guide you to a conclusion. If the issue was big enough, she knew when to state her opinion, but that was rare. She helped me solve issues on my own, but when she stated an opinion, I would listen carefully because I knew there had to be something pressing she needed me to know. I always learned from that. Let's face it, there's never time for therapy. I didn't have time either, but like going to the gym, I was always happy afterwards that I went. I've seen other therapists and most of them either could barely remember my case or name, or they were aloof and mechanical, or they seemed to be going through a standard template approach, or all they did was fill up an hour with interesting conversation that had no apparent process or planned outcome. Denise is not like that. Her approach is mission driven, she is helping you not just solve your problems, but to be the best "you" possible. Not everyone can do that, but she does it, really well. I went to the gym for so many years addressing my physical health, but I just assumed mental health is an automatic. It's not though. Denise helped change my life in so many ways, and I'm thankful for the difference she made.

I love that I get texts from her just checking in on me and sometimes our sessions go a little over but she never makes a big deal. This all makes me feel valued and that I matter.

She is exceptionally competent, thoughtful, and empathic, with a calm and insightful approach that made difficult conversations feel manageable and productive. Estee helped us better understand ourselves and each other, and we felt genuinely heard and supported. I highly recommend her for both couples counseling and individual therapy.

About a year ago, my spouse and I spent nearly $3,000 on couples counseling with Estee. When the…read morecounseling ended, I actually believed it had been helpful, because I had come to believe that our marital problems were almost entirely my fault. However, over the following year, I gradually realized that our marriage had not meaningfully improved despite the counseling. One of the strongest messages I took away from the sessions was that my family of origin and my relationship with my parents were the primary causes of our marital problems. This did not only lead me to feel guilty and blame myself; it also caused me to blame my family and my parents. The emotional impact became so significant that I eventually sought individual therapy to work through those feelings. I believe Estee genuinely wanted to help us, and I do not question her intentions. However, her approach was not effective for me and maybe someone else has similar background like me. If you come from an East Asian family and place great importance on your relationship with your parents and family of origin, I would encourage you to consider carefully whether this counseling approach is the right fit for you. Different therapists have different perspectives, and this particular approach was not a good match for my background or my needs. Finally, I respectfully ask that Estee not contact me regarding this review. I have worked hard to recover from the guilt, self-blame, and family-related conflict that I experienced after counseling, and I do not wish to revisit those feelings through further discussion.

I say this both from my personal experience and from the perspective of someone who works in a related field and understands how rare genuine compassion and true skill can be when combined. Helene embodies both. She is not only caring, but deeply intuitive -- the kind of person who doesn't simply listen to your words, but understands what sits beneath them. She goes above and beyond for those she helps, meeting each person exactly where they are, without judgment or pretense. Her professional background is extensive and her knowledge evident, yet she leads with empathy before expertise -- and that balance is what makes her remarkable. Her office is a reflection of her spirit: calm, grounded, and safe. It is a space where vulnerability feels possible and healing begins quietly, sometimes even before a word is spoken. Helene doesn't just provide support; she helps you find tools, insight, and strength within yourself. She guides you through the hard work of change with patience and clarity. Because of her, I've experienced measurable growth -- in my own self-awareness, in how I handle challenges, and most importantly, in the renewed and healthier relationships I now have with my child and my husband. I will always be grateful for her presence, her wisdom, and the kindness that defines every moment spent in her care. Thank you Helene.
