What a waste of time! I took 50 items, all dry cleaned only to be told they couldn't accept any of my items! That my items "don't typically do well at their store". I should've known the moment I entered & was greeted rudely by the salesgirl & smelled that musty smell and saw all the clothes that you typically find at a run down second hand store that my nice clothes wouldn't find a home here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for shopping or selling. Also, not to be a prude but the two salesgirls were dressed very inappropriately. Can I just say this review isn't just because I had a great selling appointment yesterday but it's because every single time I come the staff is the absolute sweetest and offer the BEST service! Lately I haven't been able to find as much as I normally do but 99% of the time I always go home with at least one new item from this location! But back to the staff thank you to the Manager for literally being one of the sweetest individuals alive, thank you to Madden (I hope I spelled that right) for always being soooooo kind and offering nice comments, and to the team member with green hair (sorry i didn't catch your name!) who again was so kind and notified me when they were done looking at my items- you're all truly awesome! I have been coming here for years to sell my used clothing. Back then I would have given them 5 stars but recently they seem to be too uptight and "too good" for the clothing you bring in. I already know the entire process of how to sell. I know they're picky and selective with what they choose. I make sure to mostly bring in items they are specifically looking for and have been able to get a decent amount of my clothing taken. My last experience selling with them entirely killed it for me. The girl searching my clothes held no conversation. I neatly fold everything that way it's less wrinkly when they take a look at it. Everything stayed folded. She didn't even care to open up the clothing, inspect, whatever. She simply glanced at it, threw it back in my bag and gave me an entire bs dialogue of how "these items aren't what they're looking for" blah blah blah. If they weren't what they were looking for then I can understand that, but she didn't even take the time to even set an eye on anything. What I've noticed the past few times that I've come here is that it's hit or miss and really depends on who's searching your clothes that day. A lot of them say it's what the store is looking for, but I noticed that they base it off of their own personal style and if you don't even look a bit stylish to them they are already judging your clothes you brought in before they even open the bag. There have been a lot of really nice people who worked here before but unfortunately it's a bunch of lame kids now who think they're different because they dress like they're from the 80's and can barely crack a smile on their face because their too cool for that nowadays. Ok first off, I'm not one to be a dick and give a one star for no valid reason and actually, this is my first one star review ever. I arrived around 11:55am (their new store hours are from 12-7 due to Covid-19) and the team members are inside probably getting ready to open and they CLEARLY see me hauling bags and bags of clothes to sell/donate. Here's the new policy which 1/3 are listed on the door: 1. You need to set an appointment (this one is displayed "WANT TO SELL CLOTHES? SET AN APPT & CALL xxx-xxx-xxx" -- It's advertised as if it's an option, not a policy. 2. Clothes have to be quarantined for 24 hours. 3. Items less than 50 only. I clearly understand that they've implemented new rules given the unprecedented circumstances and I admit, I should've probably called ahead so ultimately it's my fault. The MAIN purpose of me giving a one star is because they all witnessed me going back and forth to my car, piling the back entrance with 6 full trash bags. Hunty, 6 bags is clearly more than 50...let alone 1. You guys could've stopped me by my second trip and let me know that you're not taking any more items than 50 even IF I had an appt. SMH. Clearly it may seem like I'm overreacting and to be quite frankly honest, I probably am...BUT it's extremely frustrating being told "sorry we can't take you" AFTER the countless trips, carrying heavy ass bags, in this heat wave. Common sense people, common sense. The girl that approached me was nice NGL and she's following the policy which is understandable so I'm not mad about it. I used to come here often to sell/donate but decided to move on from the store due to this one experience (yeah, I'm stubborn as hell). Just a heads up of the new policies-- give the store a call for an appt if you plan on selling or donating and don't make my mistake. I had a lovely experience while selling clothes and purchasing with Madin. The process was seamless and Madin was incredibly patient after I had left a handful of items in my car. Her customer service had made my experience here one of the best out of all the visits I've had since junior high (and I ended up walking out with three pieces as well)! read more

I went there for the first time to sell some of my clothes. I had just gone through all my clothes and I had about 4 garbage bags filled to the breaking point and two normal bags with much of which being clothes that I had never worn before, including jeans which were lucky brand that I had never worn before, that were worth at least $100 as well as never worn before shoes. Let them go through them(they were nice), and when I went back, I was given everything back, because they were "not good quality". I even asked about the lucky jeans, to which I was told that she went through everything and they were not good quality. I hauled my a** to bring this stuff in and nothing out of almost 200 stuff were good enough, that's nearly impossible(I'm also 18 and have pretty good style). I came in earlier today to sell clothes for the first time. I honestly wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews here but i had a GREAT experience. The blonde girl at the counter was so helpful and friendly when she explained the process to me. I came around 3pm and waited 5 mins for my clothes to be looked at. The whole process took around 15-20 mins and I got 51$! I came in with a small bag of clothes and a huge trash bag they only took a little which is fine. I love doing business with Buffalo exchange however the last time I was helped I felt discriminated. I brought a bag of decent clothes 90 percent has tags. And I got $7 dollars credit. I usually get a better Trade, I even brought clothes to model in to show staff what I have in the bag and the girl was so rude to me she rolled her eyes and barely gave me any credit. First time selling here. Staff are super friendly. Either could have sold my item for $3 cash or gotten $6 credit. Prices at this brand used clothing store is getting more expensive. They have a huge amount of awesome sweater collection during winter. Small amount of wallet selections. But still great place to buy a wallet, jewelry or such for a friend as a gift. They also have a good amount of hat selections. Style here vs Crossroad Trading Costa Mesa: More vintage casual sweater type of place. Not flashy, very simple JCrew with some additional buttons or flair to it. Back door is not handicap friendly if on a wheelchair, it has two baby steps. Parking lot is in the back among the plaza area, which means it could get difficult to find at times, especially at night. read more

I use to come here a lot in high school, and have been to the Costa Mesa and Ventura so I can compare my experiences. Fullerton is my home location, I've been going here for about 7 years off and on, I almost always find something. However, the prices for some of their pieces are way over priced - you could find better deals elsewhere. I sold a few pieces in the past, but you don't get much back. The employees are usually really friendly at this location, and they have a pretty decent variety of sizes and trends. Definitely worth checking out. It's a good place to shop with friends, and close to a bunch of restaurants if you're on a date or girls night out. read more

A complete waste of my time. Be prepared to bring bags full of clothes and accessories only to take it all back to your car. People in front of me had bags full of clothes and they took Nothing! The workers look for brand names. They only take new or used-but-only-worn-once type of clothing. On a positive note, I sold two items and earned $8!! If you choose to donate your items, they do offer a large bin that goes to a nonprofit organization. Save your trip to Buffalo exchange and just donate your clothes/accessories at your local goodwill or Salvation Army store. read more

Ok so this story is a little embarrassing... I was home watching MTV True Life "I am a compulsive shopper" I was like this hits home a little so as I am watching a lot of the girls would sell their old clothes to consignment stores. I had a brilliant idea since I don't have a job and would LOVE some extra cash I decided to sell all of my old jeans that definitely DO not fit me anymore... So I collect all my jeans and hence chuck on out to Fullerton... When I get there it seems there isn't a shortage of jeans so my 15 jeans were not really needed... DAMN IT!!! They ended up taking 3 of my Rockin' Republic Jeans and I got about $30... NOT BAD at all I thought... :) So now I am $30 bucks richer :) As far as the shopping here I never would I saw some items priced at $70 ummm I can go to Nordstroms and get something new... BUT I guess it wouldn't be Vintage... Ummm I can deal with that LOL... read more

would not recommend bringing your clothes in here. i brought in bags of like new, expensive clothes (levis, urban outfitters, uggs, etc) and the worker only picked out 3 items out of all my bags and was offering me $2 per item. once i told her ill keep my items rather than get $2, she refused to keep looking thru the rest of my stuff. ironic how she claimed none of my items were what they were looking for yet my clothes were far better than what she was wearing lol... maybe she should've bought them for herself read more

The selling process is a bit annoying. I brought in a giant bag of clothes. Some Fossil, Top Shop, originally expensive boutique items, and they literally didn't even look at my items. I piled them all on the counter and the girl might have looked at one item and then said they were going to pass on all my stuff because they have tried to sell items like mine before and they didn't sell in the store in the past...meanwhile the exact same styles of clothes were CURRENTLY in the store. Although the girl seemed nice and explained everything ( the reason I'm giving 2 stars and not 1), the fact that she didn't even take the time to actually look through my items is what frustrated me. I decided to head to Goodwill down the road and next door happened to see a similar store where you buy and sell clothes. The employee there actually took the time to look through all my items and they even bought a few, which was nice! Even if that store didn't buy, I really appreciated the fact she looked through my stuff and didn't just glance at the pile as a whole. read more

I believe I have tried to sell here twice and they may have bought one of my items. As far as me selling and them buying goes, they would get a 2. I prefer Crossroads Trading Company in Costa Mesa. Now considering I pretty much work upstairs from this location, it has become my go-to thrift shop when I need a last minute top/shirt or when I'm in the mood to just rummage through gear. They have a vast selection of men's t-shirts, women's dresses, blouses and tops. Their handbag and purse section could use an update or some work, so maybe they ought to buy more of these. Same with the shoes. Good brands though, I have seen MK, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, H&M, F21 and American Eagle. I have bought 3 items from here so far which worked out great for work and leisure. Staff is always courteous and quick to get me checked out. read more

Located in Downtown Fullerton this store has lots of hidden treasures such as shoes, shirts, coats, jackets and even some jewelry. It is a place where you can go and sell your clothes or buy things that has already been warn before. Pretty neat and it also saves the environment sort of !! LoL leave it to a girl to think about shopping and the environment put together. Hey someone has to go and save the planet! The dressing rooms aren't the best but it works and I suggest going with a friend of two if you have horrible taste because sometimes looking at great deals can make you want to buy things that are really not fitting on you. This store is small but I think it is still worth a try to find some great prices and some nice brands. read more

I really like this buffalo exchange. Here are a few reasons: 1. It's not jam packed like the one at the lab 2. The clothes are organized and they are layed out well 3. Good service. 4. Decent selection. kinds depends though. I have come here a few times and haven't found anything. Other times I've found handfuls of outfits. So it's kinda iffy. All in all this is a good Buffalo. You have a limited waiting area, so most likely you will need to wait outside if there's 4 people in line already. The people there are all nice people. Some chattier than others. 2 stars is only because the employees are nice and the customer service is good. to be super honest, based on customer service alone the review is more like 4 stars. but as a company, buffalo exchange would get a 0 from me. every time i've come in over the last few years, i feel like the plus sized selection gets smaller every time. especially at this location, but costa mesa as well. sizes are also often mislabeled in the plus sized section as well. i typically wear xl or size 14/16 in pants. sometimes a 12/L depending on the brand. tried on a pair of pants that didn't have a size on them, labeled by buffalo exchange as an XXL (which is consistently too big for me in every brand i shop) and they wouldn't even button or zip! they fit more like a size 10. talk about body shaming, and this is not the first time i have had an experience like this, today i'm just annoyed enough to write a review. but i've seen buffalo exchange label things as larger sizes than the size on the manufacturer's tag on multiple occasions in the past several years. it feels like they are trying to shame plus sized people. and i'm on the smaller size of the plus size demographic, so i can't imagine how shopping here feels for people who wear larger sizes than me. it's honestly so upsetting. i should not leave the store every time feeling bad about myself because nothing fits. the buying rules are also super inconsistent. this is nothing personal against the person who did my buy, they were extremely kind and even took the time to explain to me why none of my items were bought. but the reason for most was "not good enough condition", and a lot of my items were in better condition than some of the items on the floor. i tried on a shiny puffer jacket that was being sold for around $30 with a huge scratch in the shiny coating that looks like a stain. right on the front of the jacket too! yet my practically brand new fleece lined denim jacket was turned down due to very slight pilling. again, not the employee's fault, i'm sure they were just trying to be thorough and i appreciate them taking the time to explain to me why the item wasn't purchased. and to be honest they probably didn't do the buy on the items i saw on the sales floor that were in poor condition, but the inconsistency is really frustrating. overall i just did not have a good experience today and i haven't had a good experience at a buffalo exchange in the last few years. every time i feel like to just gets worse. no wonder more locations keep closing. too bad, because i used to really enjoy shopping here. i'm actually wearing a pair of pants i bought at this location back in 2019 right now! that i absolutely love! but now sadly, buffalo exchange is just as bad as plato's closet, with 3 racks of xs/s items for every half (if i'm lucky) rack of mid and plus sized items. read more

I think it's super hilarious that I bought these exact Soda shoes in the same size brand new at Reflections in the Brea Mall (before it closed) for $10 and Buffalo is really out here trying to sell this used pair for double that price.... Buying-They have a good selection of a variety of items. I usually always fined something every time I go in. Prices vary depending on the brand, but they are pretty fair. Selling-I went in to sell my summer items from last year. I called before I went in to see what they were buying. They told me they were looking for maxi dresses, tribal clothing, cropped jeans, etc. I took in several maxi dresses and they didn't buy any, nor did they buy any of my summer clothes that they told me they were looking for. Instead they bought 1 pair of jeans and a few casual tops. The buyer next to me was buying a young girls WINTER clothes!!! Not at all what they told me on the phone. Seller beware. I definitely believe your experience will depend on the buyer you get. The manager quickly glanced at my times, while the buyer next to me was very personable with her seller and looked at every piece of clothing. I was very disappointed being that I spent hours going through all of my clothes. read more

While I was waiting, I watched them send back about 98% of what people were trying to sell them. They are extremely picky. The young lady who helped me said they are only looking for "trendy" styles. Which I get because they need to sell but even big named brands were rejected because it wasn't trendy enough. I brought a big bag of clothes and all they accepted were two things. My first time experience at Buffalo will also be my last experience ever. I am a college student so every penny I make is every penny I need for essentials. I came to Buffalo to earn a little extra cash on the side. I knew Buffalo was not going to take everything I had, but out of the two boxes I brought with me, only 1 top was taken. The employee I came across was a gentlemen with a British accent I believe. He explained to me that what they were looking for were clothes that were in season. Majority of the clothing brands I wore were Forever 21 or H&M. The clothes that I had brought in were no less than a year and a half old, well taken care of and ALL freshly washed. He commented about the 1 top he accepted and said, "black and white stripes are what girls like." Are they also not looking homecoming type of dresses, that the each clothing had only been worn once? or even never used wallets? As friendly as he might've been I was completely ripped off. And my $15 top turned into a choice of either $4 store credit or $2 cash. I was fucking dissatisfied, disappointed and utterly most very much taken advantage of for my first experience. DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT COME HERE if you're looking to exchange you're clothes for money. Also their prices are just as ridiculous. This place is really trying to hassle you. I went here once as soon as they opened on a Saturday to sell 4 garbage bag fulls of great quality, up-to-date women's clothing. I didn't come here to buy anything. They bought about 3 pieces from me out of all the clothing I brought in. It was more trouble lugging in my stuff to sell than the money I got ($38). That was the amount in gas to drive there since I live about 45 minutes away. I personally don't shop at used clothing stores. Even if I did, nothing appealed to me anyway. I've been buying and selling at this store for over 10 years. Today was by far the worst selling experience. I understand that there are going to be inconsistencies from buyer to buyer. Today a, I'm assuming manager was overseeing a new buyer. Brought in everything from new cole haan boat shoes, which I've seen and bought in the store for years. Nothing. Really cool wool overshirt in turquoise by Farah in new condition. Nothing. There were others good pieces as well. They were going to take a thick wool Stussy chore and another great new condition plaid wool bomber. Total cash for the two $12. They were both talking nonsense about repeat of fabric and color on there racks. None of which I saw while a looked around. Don't waste people's time with bad buyers. They weren't rude at least.
