If you're into vintage clothing and shoes, this is a good spot to check out, although parking out front is limited (parking in back available). One of the draws that should bring you here is the fact that there are 3 other businesses within the immediate area of similar persuasion. You have the Leopard Lounge next door which also features vintage clothing and across the street you'll find Out of the Closet Thrift store. Around the corner you'll find Lo-Fi, which is also a clothing store. This place caters almost exclusively to clothing, shoes, accessories and to a lesser degree, jewelry. They do take walk-ins when it comes to them purchasing your vintage clothing items, unlike the leopard lounge next-door. Keep in mind, you're probably not gonna get nearly as much as you think you will (I know we didn't). They'll offer you a cash or store credit option. It's also very likely you may be waiting in line to be seen, but they have some chairs by the entrance. If you find something you like, they have lots of dressing rooms to try things on. Prices are reasonable, but don't expect thrift store pricing.

Austin is lucky to have such a nice Buffalo Exchange. My wife likes to stop by clothing consignment shops when we are traveling, and this Austin location is one of the better Buffalo Exchanges we have been to. It is very large inside, providing shoppers elbow room to go through the various items at their leisure. It is also well organized, with racks dedicated to both men's and women's clothing. Old, worn T-shirts were big here, but one can find designer brands for decent prices. They seemed well-staffed (checkout, trade-ins, and dressing rooms had dedicated people). Found a nice Vince men's sweater. There are also plenty of comfortable chairs and benches for companions to wait. It was comfortable inside and wasn't musty at all. And there is a good amount of close parking in the lot as well.

The workers were so incredibly rude! I would rate this 0 stars if I could. Please do not come here if you want a good time shopping. The selection was terrible as well.

My first time here. I was looking for two very specific things. I wanted a big Ol' cowgirl belt buckle. And I was looking for some cowgirl boots. I feel like this was more of an Austin hippie kind of feel. Some great things for sure. But I was on a mission to find those 2 specific things. I feel the prices were high, it's a thrift shop. I was expecting more thrift prices. Parking is tight. You basically have to back up into on coming traffic. If you're looking for "keep Austin weird" they have great stuff. Will I come back again, yup! Great place to browse around and find a treasure.

This place is pretty awesome, it's normally a hotspot for my anxiety just because there's always a shit ton of people in there but there's usually some pretty good finds!!! The staff are pretty helpful if need be but I'd really like to hear a welcome in or a walk in greeting from time to time m, or even a goodbye, the customer service is lacking a little but I try to imagine that's just from how busy they always seem to be, overall it's a great shop

They're buying during the pandemic, but check their website for the new protocol

Buffalo Exchange is a nationwide clothing resale chain, but this is the only location in Austin. Its proximity to the University of Texas means that most of their clientele is college-age, but that group is augmented by older teen and just-out-of-college age customers, as well. My two have been buying and selling their hipster-wear here since high school and through their college years. Only funky-looking stuff will do for anyone who wants to be an original, and Buffalo Exchange complies. As some reviewers have noted, their inventory might not be exactly what you'd expect. Teen/young adult clothing tastes change rapidly, and their buying behavior is what drives the inventory here. A purchaser has said more than once, "These are/are not selling well right now." So keep that in mind if you're planning to bring in a pile of clothes to sell. You'll get more in store credit than cash, because they want you to turn around and buy more stuff. I award this Buffalo location 3-1/2 stars. If you're over 25, you will probably want to pick another thrift store in Austin. Their Coronavirus Times protocol is listed on their website, so please check before heading over to shop. You have to make an appointment to sell, and you can't stand there anymore while they go through your things. Currently, protective masks and appropriate distancing are required for everyone, both staff and customers. There were quite a few customers shopping last week, and fewer on the weekend when it was raining. Most arrive on foot, since they no doubt live nearby, and parking is very limited. If the front lot is full, you can check the "Buffalo Exchange Parking" marked lot in the alley behind the shop. Happy hunting.

I popped into the first store, Kindred Spirits. It could be described as store that makes you feel at home. There is a pleasant aroma in store as you enter...very comforting and inviting. They have quality goods. I liked that the clothing were spaciously hung on the racks. Interestingly, nothing of their clothing had bright colors, which are my personal favorites. I did enjoy perusing the store. In this boutique you can find a variety goods tops (long-sleeved, short-sleeved and cropped tops), jackets, dresses, skirts and accessories. The clothing are not fad-like with a very conservative feel. You will be able to wear these clothes for years and decades to come. Importantly, they are focused on environmental sustainability and social responsibility Similarly, the prices are a bit more for these clothing than the average boutique. However, you investing in the Austin community. The sales associate was very helpful and friendly. I learned that this is a locally-owned, woman-owned business. Very pleasant shopping experience...

You can shop for anything here, from socks and sunglasses to tops, skirts, dresses, etc. The items are quality, timeless pieces that wear well. The prices mean not having to pay to replace something a few months or a year later. You can buy clothing here and it will still be fashionable and like new 5 years later (with proper care, too, of course). A chic boutique that understands the importance of keeping the planet safe while staying relevant with fashion choices. Employees are kind and take the time to find what works for individuals rather than just trying to make a sale.

Should've gone for another tattoo instead. But I digress. This was my third and final visit. Each time I've come in, it's been clear I'm not welcome--neither I nor my money, apparently. My first visit was after dinner at Santa Rita, my usual post-work go-to. I'd been curious about your boutique--since you can't see into the store from the street--and I'm not one to judge a book by its cover (a little something I suggest we all try). I was completely ignored by the cashier, but I brushed it off. The second time, I brought a friend. While your clothing isn't quite my style, I'd noticed a few charming pieces and thought she might enjoy them. Someone did come outside to greet us and mention more items inside, which was a refreshing change. My friend even returned on her own later and had a good experience. Today, I stopped in again--not for myself, but because I have a sparkly, pink-loving, Kendra Scott-type friend with a birthday coming up, and your store felt like the perfect match. Once again, I came in after work and was met with a flat, unbothered "hi..." from the girl in the green dress, who immediately turned back to her conversation with the woman behind the counter. I browsed quietly, giving the benefit of the doubt--again--while they carried on, clearly uninterested. Another woman walked in and was promptly helped--likely because she matched the aesthetic. I, in contrast, was overlooked entirely. When I walked out, the same girl, parked in front of the counter like an immobile house pet with selective vision, actively avoided eye contact and said nothing. No goodbye, no thanks, not even a glance. Message received. Maybe it was the tattoos. Maybe the black clothing. Maybe just the assumption that I wouldn't be spending anything. Wild, considering I had every reason to judge her in that pretend "old money" dress--but didn't, and that's beside the point. You've lost a customer, and the referrals I was more than happy to send your way (most of which do actually fit your aesthetic). Still, I genuinely hope the shop survives--though with a hidden location, zero visibility from the street, and an overwhelming number of sale tags (which tracks--$50 for matches?), I wouldn't bet on it. Signed, Less impressed with you than you clearly were with me. P.S. While it's disheartening, it is not at all surprising to see other reviews echoing the same complaint: poor, unwelcoming service. You can defend your staff's "intentions" all day, but in the real world, actions are what matter. Do better, babes. Longevity doesn't mean relevance--it just means someone's still footing the bill.
