Yes, they came after office hours, but for the work done and the price they charged, I thought it was very unfair. They even left leaks that weren't there before and which they didn't fix. They sent a different plumber from the one I talked to and they preyed on the fact of our desperation that we had no water at that time.

They have a wide selection of treats and toys that I only find here. My furbabies are always delighted whenever I bring home a goody bag from this place. I also appreciate the helpful sales people that follow you around and assist you without being too invasive or irritating. They are also very polite and keen on greeting the customers that they meet. Always keep an eye on sales and marked down prices as some items can get really cheap. And for a place like this, discounts are really important. This place really have stuff for everyone. Whether you're into woodworks, crafts, piping, or whatnot, True Value has something for you.

Quarry Bay is a one-stop-shop for those looking to do some repairs or DIY at home. For someone like…read moreme who often just needs one or two things from the hardware store, I find Quarry Bay to be very convenient. Unlike going to the bigger home depots (where I tend to get overwhelmed with things), I know that when I go to Quarry Bay, I can simply get what I need for a reasonable price. They have almost anything and everything from carpentry materials to tools to plumbing items. We just recently bought bags of sand, cement, some angle bars and steel matting from them for our mini-project at home. They even have paints, drilling machines and light bulbs. The only downside here is that their store is very cramped and quite warm, but then again, it's not like you'll spend hours there anyway. You get what you need and you're out. They're still the most reliable nearby hardware store for me. I have never gone out of there empty handed.

Our family has saved up a lot by not buying new pairs of shoes and prolonging the service of our old pairs, thanks to Mr. Quickie. Let's face it: one does not always have the time or the money to spend on a new pair of shoes or sandals. And, of course, one almost always prefers the comfortable feel of an old, trusted pair. I have to take my hat off to Manong (I should ask his name next time) for doing a great job in putting more durable replacement soles and heels to a number of my ailing footwear. Often, they come back to me looking as good as new. Also, the service is relatively fast. Once, I got my shoes back after leaving it there for only three hours.

The reality of searching for an apartment lies in three factors - location, infrastructure, and…read moreprice - wherein you can only choose two. It blows, and it makes for a lot of frustrating searches. Thank the cosmos for reviews, where you could start with your apartment hunt at the comfort of your childhood bedroom. This is a review for the apartment building of 189 Maginhawa. You're welcome. PROS: Security? You are literally beside the Quezon City Police Department HQ. They also have security people, a lobby person, and CCTVs on the hallway; Rooms are great, with the building being newly constructed and all. Furnishings have this condo-type feel. I'm placing this in between pros and cons -- Location is great because it's in Maginhawa. Right downstairs or a few blocks away are establishments for a variety of your needs. But it's also not a good location if you're a commuter who goes out for work/school frequently. Tricycles and cabs are hard to come by. CONS: P10,000.00 a month for an 18-square-meter studio apartment, electricity, water, and cable/internet bills not included; I heard phone signal strength weakens inside the units; You climb three floors (or more) of stairs to get to your unit. TL;DR: Infrastructure - impressive. Location - depends if you have your own vehicle, but OK in general. Price - expensive for its size.

I'd like to be very straightforward and tell you that we got robbed there. Thieves actually broke into our apartment and stole some of our stuff. I don't mean to scare anyone, Taft Avenue is still a pretty good place to stay in. There's still nothing wrong with being a little careful though. After the incident, my parents thought we should live in an apartment building with good security. This is why we are now staying in Orlando Suites. The place is a nice, 10-storey building with 8 residential floors, a pool and a function room on the third floor, a gym, tennis and badminton court, a pool table and a rooftop garden on the tenth floor. Pretty nice, huh? They also have bi-monthly pest control programs to ensure pest-free living. And if you're too lazy to clean your own unit, the maintenance team can do it for you for 250 pesos each. Lastly, the security team is amazing! There are at least 7-10 security guards in the building to protect you and would sometimes also help you with your bags and groceries, or getting a cab. So for those looking for a place in Taft, try Orlando Suites. I'll see you there!

It was a box, basically, and while you're sitting on the toilet, you can rest your forehead on the wall you're facing without undue stretching. It was that tiny. So when my sisters moved in with me to attend college in DLSU, I was thrilled. That meant a bigger apartment! My parents ended up choosing an apartment in Orlando Suites. Not only was it in a very central location, it was also only 10-stories high. My dad had a thing about tall buildings, which was a sound fear, since in a building this low, I won't die if the elevator was undergoing maintenance or something. It was also very secure, and after three years of living here, we were chummy with all the security guards. We even get invited to their Christmas parties. Aside from their roomy and airy apartments, they also offer dormitory-style residences for those who like to live with other people. It's sad that we may have to move soon -- this has been home for so long.
