It's been awhile since I've updated my review. Cassis continues to be my choice for annual skin…read morechecks. Transparently, there was a moment I considered switching providers but this was due to a specific nurse practitioner versus the practice. I was switched to a different NP and have been happy. My last visit did uncover an atypical mole plus another to freeze off for precaution. I returned to see Dr. Cassis and had my mole surgically removed. Four stitches and will return for removal. The team took great care of me, from scheduling to having empathy for my fear of the needles and surgery. I received hugs from a couple of people and they didn't make me feel embarrassed. There's plenty of parking near the medical center. Two lobbies - one for basic skin checks and another for services with Dr. Cassis. Take note that calling to make an appointment can take a moment if the team isn't available to answer. It's listed as a core complaint in other reviews and it's not unfounded. The front desk team for skin checks is also fairly business-like but I've not experienced or witnessed rude behavior. I'm okay with that because the appointments run on time and that feels rare with other medical appointments.

I've noticed a few new spots recently so I decided to get checked out. My appointment was scheduled with Dr. Wharton. He walked in the exam room and I knew right away I was going like him. He gave me a complete exam and told me what every spot was and thankfully everything was due to age and nothing serious. He reminded my how to be careful out in the sun since I spend so much time outside. I was not rushed and he spent a reasonable amount of time and answered all my questions. I scheduled a follow up appointment for next year and left with a very good feeling about my negative results. If you want to be proactive this is a very good place to schedule an appointment.

I was taken back for my procedure only 10 minutes after my appointment time, which I consider excellent. Additionally the doctor successfully removed the entire cancer on the first procedure. Since this skin lesion wasn't as deep as the last, I didn't even need stitches, so I was leaving in less than two hours after arriving. The entire staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. She has an aggressive nurse who has been incredibly rude and has an arbitrary policy for late arrivals - I can't tell if it's 5 minutes or 10, but I've been in both scenarios and there is no grace period in her mind for a downtown office. It's so aggressive, I won't be back. It'll ruin your day.
