Because of a leak, the propane to my gas fireplace logs has been shut off for about three years.
For my birthday, (Wed. Sept. 27 ) I decided to fix the problem. An appointment with Budget Propane was made. The technician efficiently sent reminders and a text message when he was on his way.
David showed up with a smile, a professional attitude and didn't even mind my eight pound barking Yorkie/Chihuahua mix. (Rambo eventually calmed down.) David lay down a drop cloth in front of the fireplace. He carefully removed all the fire logs, then even assisted me with a dust-buster-type vacuum to clean out debris. Should it go out, David showed me the steps on how to turn the pilot light back on.
He gently warned me that when the fire is lit, the silk foliage draped on the mantle could be a fire hazard.
Because hot flames could possibly turn the logs black, David instructed me to make sure the gas logs aren't directly over the flame.
He found a couple leaks and quickly addressed the situation. Wow!!! The service call cost $100. However because top notch service was delivered, it was a bargain. If you need assistance ask for David.
Before switching to Budget a couple years ago, I would call their competitor and hear, " Please listen carefully. Our menu has changed." After listening patiently, and pushing this prompt and that prompt, I rarely was able to reach a live person.
Since I switched from that company to Budget Propane, I can't say enough good things about Budget. When I need a propane gas tank refill, it's easy to call and talk to Gina. Service is always scheduled promptly.
The competitor would automatically come three times a year and fill the tank. That was a convenience, now I need to keep an eye on the large propane tank outside and monitor that gauge. But It appears I may save about $500 by monitoring the gauge myself. With this much savings, I am happy to monitor the propane gauge, and when propane is low, make a call and speak to some very lovely people.
When the temperature gets cold, I am ready. Winter weather give me your worst! I will be found sipping some nice Cardamom tea in front of a toasty warm fireplace. read more
