This was my first time ever visiting Kharag Pawnshop Inc. I came here to pick up my mother's…read morejewelry, that due to unfortunate events, she was unable to pick up herself. Upon entry, I wasn't that impressed with the decor, but it is a pawn shop, so I wasn't expecting much. The service that I received though was top notch. Sammy (the owner) immediately made the experience customer friendly. He definitely knows how to engage his customers. He offered me an option between water and/or coffee. I kindly refused, but appreciated the offer nonetheless. Acquiring my mother's property was fairly easy. He asked for my I.D and proceeded to complete the process. We engaged in lighthearted conversations, which led to the discovery of some things that we shared in common. This business only accepts cash, which I didn't have. It also doesn't have an ATM, so I had to go to the bank, which was only a hop, skip and a jump away. So it wasn't an inconvenience. Now if you're lazy and just don't want to go, then that's another story. All in all my experience was pleasant. He reweighed the jewelry and made sure that it matched what was initially recorded on paper. It matched. Sammy is an older gentleman and works to make sure that you leave with what you came for. You won't be disappointed with your visit to Kharag Pawnshop Inc. At least I wasn't.

I used this shop to sell some jewelry and I was disappointed by their inconsistent information…read more First I went to the location near me and was told that I needed to go to their other location in order to get full price for the items I wanted to sell because they could only give me a price for the gold, not the jewels (precious stones). I explained that I'm disabled and that getting to the other location would be a hardship for me, but they insisted that's where I had to go. So I made the difficult trip to the other location and they told me there that they had no way to figure out the worth of the stones, so they would only give me a price for the gold. This means I could have sold the jewelry at the first location and didn't need to go through so much trouble and pain. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to sell to them because it's not possible for me to get around and check other shops, but they deceived me so I don't trust them to make another sale.

I don't work there I don't have any connection to this place other than being a customer. I had a fire in my apartment and lost everything except a few guitars that I had in pawn,.but I had no money. They held my stuff for a year and didn't close my ticket after finding out about my situation. Also I went to another pawn broker a few times and felt like I went to the mafia. Their rates at Paradise were so much more reasonable. I mean a million times more. I can't say enough just how much kindness they showed me. I didn't read other posts but people get mad if they don't get everything they want. Or someone was in a bad mood and they didn't like that. Trust me, you can trust them. Thank you guys

I do not frequent pawn shops, but my identity was stolen and all of my accounts were frozen for about 3 weeks. I needed CASH IMMEDIATELY. I went to a few other shops before I found NEW LIBERTY and they took advantage of me because I was desperate. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. IF YOU GO ANYWHERE OTHER THAN NEW LIBERTY, YOU WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. This is the ONLY Pawn Shop to go to in NYC. Roni is a stand up guy. Whether you are looking to SELL your items or PAWN them, you have to be careful with other shops. They are not looking to form long term relationships. Rather, they prey on the needy and will take advantage of you when you need help the most. If you are LOOKING TO SELL...Roni will give you TOP DOLLAR compared to anyone else. His quotes were 20%-30% HIGHER than his competitors. Not only will you get MORE MONEY, but you will also feel COMFORTABLE. He will not pressure you to sell anything and he always has your best interest in mind. No, you are not going to get retail prices, but he will show you what the retail price is and then give you a quote that all parties are happy with! If you are LOOKING TO PAWN...again, you ARE going to get TOP DOLLAR. Most likely 20%-30% MORE than other shops. He also gives one month, NO INTEREST, for new clients. I have had terrible experiences at other stores where items go missing, are not in the same condition as I left them, or take 30 minutes to find. When you come back to New Liberty to get your property, you will be in and out in two minutes and everything will be in the same condition as you left it. Roni will talk to you like he's known you for years and you will be on your way, smiling, as you walk out. Thanks Roni for the exceptional experience! If I ever come across tough times again, this will be THE ONLY place that I go. I cannot thank you enough for helping me out! I hope that other people read this review and decide to use NEW LIBERTY instead of the other crooks that prey on those in need. -Tyler
