The manager, Shawn, was incredibly friendly and proactive. He called me immediately to let me know and left a voicemail. I missed his first message, so he took the extra step to follow up and call me again the next day. Thanks to his dedication, the hotel safely mailed my device all the way back to my home. This level of honesty, care, and persistent customer service is extremely rare. I cannot thank Shawn and the team enough and will absolutely stay here again whenever I am back in Hutchinson!

We called the hotel about a half hour before getting into Hutchinson. Luckily they had a room and it was just what we wanted. The front desk staff were friendly and our check in went smoothly once she was able to find us in the system. The room was very nice, well appointed with LOTS of electrical outlets and free wifi. A Kuerig coffee pot, comfy bed and lots of pillows are always appreciated. Only negative - there is only one elevator and it takes forever. It also looked a bit dirty. The rest of the common areas looked clean and well maintained. There are many dining options in the area from fast food to fine dining. All are within a mile or two.

Usually hampton inns have their shampoo, conditioner and shower gel mounted on the walls. This one had the mounts broken off. Only shampoo was mounted. The other two were placed In the soap holders. Office chair in the room was worn and tattered. The sofa bed was not comfy here. Lumpy. But I have to say they do the best breakfast. They do have healthier choices than most of the hampton inns. The only bad thing I see at their breakfast was inaccurate labelling of the fried egg at breakfast. - it was labelled as egg white fritata. Holes in walls, several bulbs burnt out and fixtures don't have covers. Furniture is old and beat up. Everything is extremely old. Mostly unable to connect to the wifi. Gaps around door and the 50 flies won't help with rent. Door safety latch is missing. Small dining table with no chairs. Parking lot riddled with large holes. No door on closet. Roaches are visible at times and they won't help with the rent either. The only good point is lower rent than other places. Bathroom exhaust fan doesn't work and there is no ventilation. Several broken building codes. Should be fined and possibly condemned.

Other reviews mentioned the rail traffic noise but we did not notice it and the cat. I'm allergic to cats but Groucho did not bother me. (He's a great cat!) We would recommend Painted Garden to anyone traveling to the Hutchinson area and wanting a B&B. C&D
