Super friendly and gentle and caring care for an older dog. Not our dog but one visiting us for a few day.

Great selection, great service…read more We came for an adoption event, though it was already over and almost all the animals were adopted. Looked around a bit (Baby K liked the hamsters and fish.) Got some training pads, then realized there were some clearance ones up front. Clerk was very friendly, and eagerly processed the return and got us on our way. Good to see a good pet supply store in Zanesville.

He does get matted in some places , we brush at least every day. I knew something was off the and they were very busy. I did tell Angela he had several matted area not large ones. And she said well we are just going to have to shave him down. No that's not her choice. My dog has long hair and she usually has no problem detangling him blowing him out and charging me the extra along with the tip I give her. Today she had an attitude from when we walked in. Then she said well do you just want to take him home? Well yes I do and I did! Like I would have let him be shaved down. She just did'nt want to deal with him. She knew he was on her schedule if she didn't want to do him she should have cancelled, but now we wont be back. And its hard to tell with her attitude how she would have treat him. Toby is only 8 months old and has been a regular. We have already found somewhere else. If she is unhappy with her job and taken care of peoples pet she should find another career. PS she has also told me in the past I wish all dog parents were like you.

My issue was on the last visit, the groomer shaved my dog way too close on his private area. This caused a razor burn which he then licked and irritated to the point he couldn't sleep or sit comfortably. I ended up spending $300 in emergency medvet care (visit, cone, topical spray, oral medicine) and when I called to explain so they might update their procedures and not shave so close I was rudely told, Well, you signed the shave policy form. No compassion; didn't even ask if he was okay. We won't be back and I wouldn't trust them with any animal.

It's a better facility than some. The process is very easy. Make an appointment. If you need weekend service, plan your appointment weeks in advance. Usually you get a confirmation call before your day. Easy drop off, provided you had your vet send over all the required proof of vaccinations. Please be specific in how you want them groomed. Don't cry fault if you didn't tell the groomer first. I've had the fur on ears, bangs and tails trimmed a bit shorter during pick up without a fuss. You get a call that your pet is ready for pick up. Bandanas or bows usually adorn your clean pet. Credit cards or cash accepted. Yelp check-in offer is a nice bonus. Add on toys and treats are for sale in the lobby. I have used the self serve pet washing area in the back. Call ahead to find out what good times are. They really try and deter you from using the area that the groomer needs to wash a clients dog at the same time. Off peak times are best. I found it a good value, and much easier on your back than leaning over a tub or kiddie pool. Harness setup. Shampoo choices. Comfy no slip mat for your pet to stand on. Fluffy clean towels, or blow dry is available. I should use this self serve more often(#Lazy).

At the register they tried to sell it to me by the pound even though the sign didn't say anything about it charging by weight. Just that they are $3.99. Cashier took forever to stop sweeping the rug to help me. Also gave me dirty looks when I told her she should change the sign on the rocks to specify that it's sold by weight. Also I've heard from employees that there's animals in the back that aren't properly being cared for, specifically a snake named ruby that is a red tail boa, and severely malnourished with shed issues. Now, this is a pretty special pet store. It's definitely not the norm thanks to being locally owned…read moreand operated. The staff is really friendly, and they have a lot of knowledgeable folks on hand. We Lov Pets recently moved to a new building right off of Northpointe and last weekend I paid it a visit for the first time. My mom needed to fill up on dog food and my fishy Tito was in need of some Halloween décor. He loves getting in the holiday spirit, ha. There's a giant parking lot out front as well as a separate entrance for self-serve grooming (very cool). We walked in and it was super easy to find exactly what we were looking for. All the different departments of the store are labeled clearly, which make it easy to get in and out when you're in a rush. The aquatics department looks pretty rad. All the tanks are super clean, the fish looked amazing, and I love being able to check out unique saltwater fish. This is the only store for miles that offers saltwater options and it's always fun to check them out. That's where I was able to grab some fun stuff for Tito's tank (skull and rocks). I also made my way through the reptile department (my favorite!) and all the pets looked to be in great health and in super clean habitats. I helped my mom find her dog food (Earthborn, its great and you get a free bag after buying so many over time) and after saying hello to the kitties up for adoption, we were on our way home. There's no wonder why this locally owned pet store has stayed in business, even with the large box pet store right up the street. The service is great, the products are higher quality as they are hand-picked by experts, and the love for animals here is tremendous. I'll definitely continue to swing by here when I'm in town and in need of supplies for my little pet family.
