I made a reservation for 3/13 for a party of 38. I was blown away with how great of service it was!! From talking to the regional sales manager Terri who helped me with the reservation and pick our food option to walking into the restaurant and being greeting by the host who right away asked if we wanted the cupcakes in the fridge, then the manager Vetta going over the food options we picked to sitting down and being greeted right away by our server Luis. Luis was an awesome server! He was on top of refills and asked when he should start being the salad out and if we were ready for the pasta. We didn't feel rushed or that he wasn't paying attention to us. He was great! My whole party enjoyed their time and kept telling me how great of service it was. What started with average service went downhill fast... we were a party of 14 and Alexa was our waitress. She was pleasant but clearly lacked help, and to be fair, a size such as ours should have been attended to by atleast 2 servers or a combo of server and assistant. Understandably, it's a Saturday night so she either had too many tables and/or management short staffed the shift. BTW, management was MIA. The biggest problem that occurred during our special family reunion dinner was when food was being delivered. The food runner set several entrees on the table so of course we all started plating ourselves (family style). Then abruptly, the same guy who put the food down began arguing to our server at our table that he needed to take the food back.. mind you.. several guests already helped themselves to it. The 2 of them literally went back and fourth arguing in front of us making it all so very awkward.. then finally he insisted that (name?) is demanding it back!!! No manager to resolve the situation, and what exactly were they going to do with the meal... re-serve it back to the "actual" table??? Personally, it left a bad taste and made for a very uncomfortable dinner. Alexa, was pleasant but she should have informed the manager immediately to address us, apologize, meal should of been left on the table as well as offer some kind of resolution. I would give zero stars. Went to a seminar here a few weeks ago. I could not eat what they served and I asked for spaghetti. Was told they were not serving spaghetti. Yet, My husband and I saw them serve two others spaghetti. I called the next night and spoke with the manager. I believe her name was Emily. She said she would get back to me After speaking with her supervisor. I Never received a return phone call. But she did say in our conversation that they do not racial profile. Can you believe that? I received a 20 dollar giftcard and a free sundae for my birthday for being part of their email club so I decided to stop here and seriously yum. Everything was delicious. The tomatoe bisque was so tasty that I'm still drooling thinking about it. The most shocking thing for us though was the birthday sundae, I thought it was gonna be a small cup and it turned out to be huge that feeds about 4 people. In addition, I loved how the kids meal was a big meal as well. It can easily feed a hungry adult even. I can't wait to.go back here and enjoy more deliciousness. read more

Came here with some friends on a Sunday afternoon and while the food was okay, the service was terrible. We're almost 100% sure that our waiter was hungover. He was extremely slow, forgetful, and inattentive. We ordered the Mixed Greens Salad and Bolognese Rigatoni. The salad was just cut up lettuce tossed in Italian dressing. No onions, no tomatoes, no nothing. So the manager was gracious enough to replace the salad with one that actually had the ingredients listed on the menu. Still not worth $16.99 for what you get. Then after about 30 min of waiting for our pasta, our server brings it out but he got the order wrong. Instead of Rigatoni, we got Penne. So he takes it back and we wait another 15 min minutes for the correct order. I will say that our friends' food was good, namely the Fried Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza. My husband only had utensils on his placemat but no plate. He had to ask 3 times for a plate until our server actually brought him one. After our meal, we asked for bill and surprisingly, he split the bill for us. But here's the cherry on top... After my hubby paid the bill and signed the receipt, we left the restaurant. Later that night, we realized that our server did not return our credit card to us after we paid for the bill. We got a weird vibe from him so we decided to just cancel our credit card all together, just in case. Talk about a nuisance! We went there last night as a Dinner Christmas Party. It is my first time being there, we waited half an hour until the rest of the party came. We sat in a nice room but some of the pictures did not seemed to go with the theme. It was mess when it came to the photos as for the empty alcohol bottles in the ceiling that was cool. We had tables and booths, my party sat in the booth, and we were waiting to get our menus. Half an hour later our waitress asked if we like to order but we told her we never got the menus. The hostess never told us that we had to look online, and our waitress told us she should have told us. Only one table had QR code so we all had to scan and look what we want. They gave us some physical menus but it was hard to see due to the lighting and the small writing. Everyone order drinks, and waitress told one couple they did not have wine that they wanted. It took 10 minutes to get our drinks and 20 to 30 minutes to get the alcohol drinks. (Waitress end up finding the wine the couple wanted). We finally got the bread, it was bland. The Oil and Balsamic Vinegar did not mixed well and I end up soaking my bread with more oil. You literally had to scrub the bread on the plate to get the Balsamic Vinegar. Next, we order Salad and it tasted great. Then, we waited for our Entrees it took 1 1/2 hours to get because the Kitchen was backed up. We literally had to asked for bread because we were starving. Here is the Kicker: We did not know that the Entrees were A La Carte so we got Lasagna, Chicken Parmigiano, and Eggplant Parmigiano. Therefore, the Chicken Parmigiano, and Eggplant Parmigiano had no noodles. It only had the sauces that came with it and we asked the waitor who served us our food and he said it A La Carte and you order the noodles separate. I wish we knew that since its our first time being there. Honestly, it did not feel like an authentic Italian Restaraunt but an imitation one. I was disappointed about the noodles. The other couple with us did not like the Lasagna they told us it was bland. So, they wanted to eat somewhere else because they were not satisfied. Dessert we order to go and the Cheesecake it was very thick and the sauce was nasty I felt like it was old. I did not like the mixed at all. It was disappointment! Food: 0.3 Service: 0.3 Concepts: 1 I loved that it was family style when it came to the food size but it was disappointment when you do not know about their Entrees being A La Carte. We brought it home and family members ate it and one of them got Diarrhea so I checked it and literally, the to go box that they gave us had a quarter of oil in it. There food was also to oily. The scores is based on the service and food. I would give a 1.6 stars if they had it here. I would not recommend this place I rather go to Olive Garden or somewhere else!!! read more

Just got home from Buca in Brea. My daughter had her college graduation party with all our friends and family. We have family get togethers all the time but usually run into issues of things that go wrong or get us stressed trying to keep evwryone happy and entertained. Let me just say, a BIG shoutout to our assigned servers CRYSTAL and KEVIN. They were AWESOME. Couldnt have asked for anymore. They took care of everything so we didnt have to worry about anything ourselves. They were the MOST friendly servers we have run into in a long time, especially since covid when people seem to be more rude and unfriendly. They were fast and VERY efficient and never complained or even seemed bothered by any of our families 1000s of requests. Truly made today 0% stress for us so we could enjoy our daughter and her party. Would 100% recommend this place for either a big party or just a night out for date night with your spouse. Also, it goes without saying, the food was also 100% delicious as always and well prepared and presented. So, if you do head over, make sure to request Crystal or Kevin, or both. I know we will the next time we return. Also, for Crystal if you see this, we hope you have a great enjoyable time on your day off tommorrow at the baby shower you are going to attend. Ok, I used to love Buca Di Beppo. No longer. The quality of the food has plummeted. Last night, I had Baked Rigatoni that should be labeled on the menu "Boiled" Rigatoni with minimal flavor. It's like they grabbed a box of Barilla pasta from Albertson's and 8 minutes later renamed it Baked Rigatoni and charged me well over $30 for it. Never again. I bought a piece of cheesecake to bring home for later and found it to have NO CRUST. How can cheesecake have NO CRUST? I've been to Buca Di Beppos dozens of times, but after last night and a solid 4/10 rating for quality, there are much better places to spend my hard earned money for Italian food. We had Chuck as our server. Exceptional service! Emily the manager was fantastic. Great customer service all the way around. Met another server Vet. Everyone was just so congenial. Food was excellent and plentiful. Husband had the meatball sandwich & devoured it. I had the soup and salad. Tastey! Portions were ample and we even took an order of lasagna to go. We (party of 10) went on Christmas. We were seated in a circular room. But it was really tight.....AND Hot. A fan would be great in that area. Anyways, we had a great time. Tough call between making the decision of 3 or 4 stars. The food is definitely good but the prices certainly lower the VALUE. Then the food seems very average. The draw to this place is the atmosphere and there is no doubt that the place is decorated for fun events. There always seems to be a Birthday or anniversary in the restaurant. For large groups is actually not bad because you get to pick from many of the family dishes. The key is to not over-order like my family always does. I have loved many of the dishes here and other Buca di... all across the county. We even had the opportunity to visit the original in Minnesota on a road trip years ago. Service seems to be very similar at all restaurants so the company does a great job in management training, that doesn't mean it's always perfect like tonight's burnt pizza. And that's with the fact that my family likes their pizza well done! Tonight the pepperoni was even burnt and we had to scrape the charcoal off the crust. My families favorite item on the menu is the pizza. I don't get it either when they have such a huge variety of dishes. The other favorite, and I do get this one, is the Apple Garganzola salad. Since I recently decided to follow a vegan lifestyle I was worried. I mean three months ago I would never have picked the Marinera over the meat sauce and the garganzola is where the flavor is, right? Well not so fast, the Apple Garganzola-less (you don't know how clever I think I am right now) was absolutely delicious along with the house bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We did get some garganzola on the side for the non vegans at the table. So when the spaghetti and meatballs (of course I did not have the meatballs) came to the table I was very surprised how much I enjoyed the meal and felt satisfied. I understand that all the pasta here is vegan except for the fettuccine which contains egg. The service is typically pretty good at Buca... and tonight was no exception. Our waiter obviously chose not to mention the burnt pizza we left turned upside down to display the layer of charcoal on the bottom but the water cups were kept full and he did apologize for the fact that the pasta took so much longer than the pizza and salad. He explained that they came from two different kitchens. Since I was the only one not eating pizza, I was the only one affected at the table. If I had a few more vegans or people that enjoyed vegetables I would like to try and see if this restaurant would make Pasta Puttanesca vegan style (some recipes call for anchovies which I could not have). It has typically olives, capers, tomatoes, garlic... For a "fun" conversation you can tell your party the puttanesca means "whore style". I guess we know what they thought of being served pasta with no meat! read more

Recently visited the Fullerton location with the best friend and his adult son. The service was prompt and Itza our server was attentive and knowledgeable. She was training a new server that evening so we knew we were in good hands. The salad, pizza and pasta were all delicious, and you'll want to leave room for the birthday sundae, which is so much more than a promotional gift. This masterpiece of a dessert is ooey-gooey goodness with fudgey brownie bites, ice cream, whipped cream and more. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the house photographer. When he approached the table for the "complimentary postcard", while very friendly, he made assumptions about who was at the table which set the overall tone for the experience. The photographer first referred to us as "the folks", and then proceeded to suggest the best friend put his arm around his wife. Awkward, party of 3.
