Greeted immediately as we walked into the restaurant. We had reservations for a party of 12 and accommodated to a table of our liking. The server was very patient with us and kept checking in to make sure everything was ok. The food was also very delicious as always. We ordered the large fettuccine, lasagna, spaghetti,penne pasta and pizza. I lost the decor it's very old school but nice! What a fantastic place for a birthday celebration! Buca still has some of the coolest and most nostalgic decorations on the planet! It's always a treat to visit! We hadn't been to Buca in a long time because we love sitting at the Kitchen Table and it had been closed for awhile due to COVID. I called and booked it for my brother's birthday. If you haven't sat there before, you must do it! All the servers and kitchen staff say hello as they pass by, which makes the experience a blast! Nico was our server and he was THE BEST! He was so upbeat and funny while also being attentive to anything we needed... usually way before we even knew we needed it! The kitchen manager brought us a sample of their meatballs, which I hadn't tried before. SO GOOD! We ended up choosing the baked ziti and chicken parmesan which was the perfect amount of food for a sharable family style meal for 4. For dessert, Nico brought over an ice cream brownie sundae, served in a GIGANTIC martini glass and everyone sang a special Buca Birthday Song. We loved it and all left feeling full and happy! Came back to this because a family member (niece) was having a birthday dinner; her parents chose this place. I echo many of the same sentiments others have spoke to in yelp... Yes, there are a few all-star servers here as with most establishments, however most are not. Yes, the decor is festive and fun and the place is loud and social. The problem is.... The place continues to lack leadership and management. A few good servers and mediocre food does not make a 5-star restaurant experience, not even a 3-star one (once you get your bill you'll know the difference.) It's starts when you walk in... The folks who greet and seat are terrible. They have no guest service and cannot multi-task; fine art of balancing phones and waiting area demands. The rest of the restaurant staff seem under-staffed, under-trained and lacking the general skills to work in hospitality. In fact, some staff I experienced didn't even look as though they should be working at an all night gas station much less a restaurant. Prices are ridiculous for the mediocre food received. Any one who actually describes the Italian food here as good or great, probably call Taco Bell, Mexican food. I believe many 5-star reviews are from people who have a biased affection for the old Buca... one, I too remember from years ago... that ship as sailed! This restaurant, like many corporate run establishments is run on profit; cheap ingredients, understaff, over promise, under deliver and then apologize for it in Yelp... knowing you'll never do anything to change it. This is illustrated by the continued staffing of the same manager, worse staff and the same tired corporate response person "Constantina B." or whatever her name is (not really sure what her corporate title means or why it's relevant - her cut and paste responses are disingenuous and hollow to the experiences people are posting) ... the bottom line is they are trading on the old Buca di Beppo experience that no longer exists. In the end, if you wanna come here and like it, you'll find a way to like it, but you better bring plenty of plastic to pay for it. If you are wanting good Italian food and can do without goofy photos and props, there are planet of better Italian restaurants with great food, flexible portions, far better and genuine service (staff who will work for your patronage)... all at a better price. I made a reservation two weeks in advance for a birthday dinner for a party of 7 for a Saturday evening. We arrived and there were a lot of people waiting outside and throughout the lobby. We checked in at 5:28 pm for a 5:30 pm reservation. There were 3 hosts at the desk. The check in girl says "ok, we need to give your server some time" I say "ok, we will be outside". The lobby then clears and our party goes & sits inside. We watch other parties get seated, no problem. 12 minutes goes by and a walk in party of 5 is seated immediately....in fact they are offered an opportunity to look at the booth to see if they can fit and want to sit there, uh ok. I then ask, "so when will our table be ready? We have been here since 5:28" The girls looks flustered and look at something on the handheld screen, then the dark curly hair hostess gives me attitude and rudely says "I'm going to put this cake away and oh, there are no kids menus" Uh, ok....why the attitude? I'm not the one that forgot about us....that was the three of you. Another host then proceeds to sit a party of 2 that came after us. I understand that sometimes things get backed up and there's a lot going on....but I didn't appreciate the rudeness. We didn't arrive late for our reservation or ask for anything out of the ordinary. Our waiter, Marcus, was fantastic. He was nice & attentive. The food is as expected. We ordered small sizes of: the chicken limone, Caesar salad, baked ziti, spaghetti with meat sauce & a kid's cheese pizza. It was enough to feed the seven of us with no leftovers. It was my daughter's birthday & Marcus brings out a ginormous sundae and the waiters sang. It was fun. They have a third party vendor taking group pics. They give you a collage of pics for free and there is a fee if you want any of the other pics. That visit, we were charged $10 a picture. I've read in other reviews that they were charged $5. We have been here multiple times and the service is never stellar and the food is okay. My kids like it here and it's fun, otherwise we would prob not eat here at all. read more

I love how Bucca di Beppo accepts reservation for Christmas eve. My family came here for dinner after mass. We walked in and got seated right away. Make sure you make your reservations! They always have the best service and attentive and friendly staff. The food comes in big portions and family style. To begin our meals, they serve you bread with oil and vinegar. Came here for lunch my bestie and had a great time. It wasn't too packed, thanks to it being the middle of a weekday, so we were seated quickly. We started off by ordering cocktails: the Roman tiki and the sparkling lemon drop martini. Both were very tasty but I preferred the Roman tiki. Our waitress was amazing! She made sure we wanted for nothing and didn't bat an eye when we asked for extra bread or extra pesto with our food. We started off our meal with the Italian Sausage and pepper. This is one of my favorite items on the menu. Not too pricey, great portion size and just delicious. Normally I'm not a huge fan of red sauce but the combination with the peppers and onions really brings a unique flavor to the dish that I quite enjoy. For our main dishes we ordered the Stuffed chicken, which had Prosciutto and cheese inside, covered in their red sauce and pesto cream sauce. Let me tell you this right now, that pesto sauce was MONEY! It was rich, creamy and gooey, but the pesto added this fresh herb and garlic flavor that helped cut the fatty flavor and marry the whole dish together. The other dish we got was the Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. This dish is actually pretty spicy but in the best way. The pieces of chicken are really juicy and tender, the pasta was cooked al dente (the way I like it), And I like how the sauce wasn't so spicy that you didn't taste anything else in it. The only negative was that our pasta was a little bit on the dry side, it could've used some more sauce just to help coat everything else a little bit better. Other than that, we were more than satisfied with our meal. Please note this place can be a little expensive if you're with a small group who wants to eat different things. If you don't come during the lunch hour, you can only order food that are served family style also it feeds more people but it's also more expensive. You definitely won't be leaving hungry. read more

Came here to celebrate my best friend's belated birthday and we added on my boyfriend's birthday too. They serve family style at the restaurant and I had forgotten how big the servings really were since my last visit to one of these restaurants a few years ago. It definitely gets difficult navigating through the restaurants due to the many passages and the just the decorations on the walls that would throw you off, but it works for the aesthetics of the place. Though the restroom decor gave off a completely different vibe with the women's being pink and the men's being green hehe Our waiter was really nice and patient with us as we decided what to get as we munched on bread with oil and vinegar. We ended up getting a chicken fettuccini and supreme pizza with both being small or good for three people. When the food came, we definitely were overwhelmed with how much there was to share between the three of us. The fettuccine with chicken tasted great and pizza tasted alright from the small piece I got since I was getting filled up quickly with carbs. We each ended up having a doggie bag each of pizza and pasta at the end of the meal and skipping dessert at the restaurant due to the fear of how big the serving would be lolz And I tried the pizza again the next day after it was in the fridge and I liked it better like that hehe read more

Buca Di Beppo still doesn't disappoint with their gargantuan portions for the prices, but the quality and taste of the food is mediocre at best. I'll mainly come here when friends book dinner events and invite me, but otherwise, I wouldn't endeavor to come here voluntarily. And now that I've developed an issue with gluten, I'll likely come here even less so (they do offer non-pasta and gluten-free dishes, though). Service has always been decently good and it is pretty easy to get good parking in this plaza. read more

I had ate 1 piece and it didn't taste right to me, it tasted rancid to me. He ate most of it and about an hour later he couldn't stop throwing up. I think the food and health department should be visiting this location. EDIT: Constantina, your mediocre macro reply is not satisfactory. We have a little gourmand in the family who loves his Italian food, so for his birthday off to Buca we went. We made a reservation online and when we arrived, were seated right away. Our waiter was so fabulous with the kids, even took their little kiddie menu drawings graciously when given as a token of our appreciation for his sweet kindness and great service. Patrons were spread out in the rooms and as mentioned service was friendly, attentive and on point. The food was served rapidly and everything tasted good, and prepared in quantity as to be expected at this establishment. Always a fun place to come with a group, especially for a special occasion. We go to Buca Brea multiple times a year for various family celebrations... more often than not it we end up with the same server with the exception of today. And let me tell you it was a happy accident so to speak. Janet was our server to celebrate my daughter's bday and let me just say Janet is nothing short of exceptional. Attentive and great personality. Our group of 11 was well taken care of by Janet during our visit. From drunk refills to making sure everyone had what they needed. We opted to play a joke on my daughter about the dessert she chose (ie pretending we all at it while she used the restroom) and Janet made it happen. I know to some it may seem minor, but Janet went the extra mile to play along with our joke. There was no I can't do that, no but why.. rather she took it up a notch to help pull it off. In a world where customer service /being human is lacking especially in the food service industry it was not tonight. Janet proved that there are still servers out there who care and want to ensure you and your family have a great dinner and night out. So Janet thank you again. Came to Buca for lunch on Sunday because I had an unused gift card from Costco. Buca is not my first choice for Italian food, but since I had actually had the gift card for a while, my bf & I decided to put it to use. Portions are just in SMALL or LARGE. Buca is definitely better for larger parties because their small portion can probably feed 3-4 people in on sitting. We ordered the Baked Rigatoni and Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken. My bf & I were able to stretch these two dishes into 2 *generous* meals. The Baked Rigatoni was a little dry, and there wasn't much spicy Italian sausage (bummer), although there appeared to be some other meat in the sauce. The Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken was actually really tasty, I'd recommend this over the rigatoni. Their dishes can add up rather quickly price-wise, even though I understand that they have "big" portions. I still think it is more worthwhile to come with a big group or work function. read more
