This is one of the smaller Bucees. Normally I would give it three stars because it's easily a quarter size of the big one in Madisonville. They carry all the drinks, jellys, hot sauces of every kind and jarred picked veggies. They have the most wonderful cheesey jalapeño bread which is a must! Buy two loaves. It's great with everything! I forgot now if the other fresh meats and jerky are available in this store. If so it's a very small area in the back. The bathrooms are very clean which is a hallmark of all Bucees. Plus the bathroom doors lock there very securely. There is no official clothing store at this Buccees but they carry a good supply of koozies. They have an outside area for your fur babies to stretch and go potty on the pretty green grass. Then even provide a poop scooper and baggies to clean up after them. The ladies inside were all wonderful trying to show off what the lil store had to offer. Still deserves 4 stars for cleanliness and being a few stars above some ole gas station or convenience store. Gas station, small grocery and exceptionally clean restrooms! Restrooms so well taken care of each stall has a dispenser with sanitiser for the seat as well as hand gel too. Whenever I need to stop on my way to Austin I do it here and no place else! The parking lot is huge! There are always people towing trailers of all different kinds and never any difficulty finding or getting into or out of a space. Snacks, drinks, locally made specialties like jars of pickled quail eggs... When I stopped here yesterday I was down a quart of oil. While the hood was up I had two fellow customers ask if everything was okay with my car. I thanked both of them and assured them I was good and was just adding more oil, but these are the kinds of people a Buc-ees draws. read more

We happened to luckily stop at this Buckee's in Giddings. I have been to the Bucee's in Fort Worth and Temple, Texas, and this one is much smaller. However, our group really appreciated this one, as it was not near as busy, and you could actually walk to the store without bumping into other people. OK, I don't know if it was because this place got way too much hype or if I just visited a smaller Buc-Ees but I definitely was NOT impressed. Yes it's a nice clean gas station with clean bathrooms, but I've seen chevron's just as big and nice. They did have these really good beaver nuggets which tasted like corn pops. I'm a huge fan of the Buc-ee's organization. Having a girlfriend from the Houston area, I've gotten very familiar with US 290, and the Giddings Buc-ee's has become a favorite, almost mandatory pit stop on the way. This is something of a Mini-Me compared to New Braunfels Buc-ee's, but still has that beaver spirit nonetheless. Always clean, staff always courteous; this is full-fledged Buc-ee's, despite its diminutive stature. One highlight of this location that I always love, is their fresh jerky and summer sausage counter. Stop in and grab a few hunks of the peppered or the teriyaki jerky! Good stuff! This sounds crazy.... but I loove this gas station. Every time I make the trip from Austin to Houston to visit family, this is our one stop. Its the perfect 1/2 way stop between the two. Nice, clean, large restrooms. Lots of snack food and drinks for the drive. Bumper stickers, souvenirs, and Texas related trinkets. But, the main thing we stop for is the jerky! They have the best pork jerky I've ever tried. The peppered beef and teriyaki beef are also really good. But, the pork is just amazing! Not too tough and perfectly salty. This is one of the smaller Buc-ee's locations without many of the features found in other locations. When you walk in having been to a larger location, it's almost a disappointment. There's no deli, no t-shirts or memorabilia. It just looks like a large convenience store that happens to have the Buc-ee's logo on the outside. Of course, any stop at Buc-ee's requires a trip to the restroom, and I'm happy to say that they have clean facilities. They were definitely due for routine maintenance, but I figure I can safely say that they were cleaner than any other stop for miles in any direction. The selection was very limited at this location, even though they had all the quintessential Buc-ee's items-- jerkey, beaver nuggets, etc. I ended up grabbing a mediocre-tasting kolache (probably had been sitting there all day) and a drink and made a mental note to skip this one and hit the other one on 290 on my return trip. read more

They only had a small selection of the local type products that all of the other places carry and you definitely won't be able to pick up those obscure items you forgot on a trip from this one. There was plenty of parking even though the lot was small but, what really surprised me is that the bathrooms weren't very clean. Since I have been watching so many episodes of Sons of Anarchy back-to-back on Netflix I thought the idea of a 4am nightride up to Austin would be pleasing .... just kidding, I was really not even remotely enthused about having to drive up to Austin in the morning for a job interview and then turn around quickly to Houston without enough time to even stop at Kerbey Lane for a pancake or twelve. Add on top of that the crowds from SXSW which are clearly way cooler than me and my Armani tie since they are all in their cut-off jean shorts "jorts" and such. Even worse than that, I hate driving. Every time I need to take my peasant car keys out of my pocket and touch the car-opening peasant button, open the door, put the peasant key into the ignition, use the peasant shifter, and operate the motor vehicle by myself I am constantly reminded that I do not have a chauffeur doing this for me - yet. One day I will have someone take care of the basic stuff while I play Pokemon White in the backseat like a true prince. This is a relatively new Buc-ee's since I have done this drive between Austin and Houston a lot when I was younger and I do not remember stopping here; I remember the Starbucks in Brenham and the nearby Sonic as much more usual points of interest to stop, use their restroom, get fully disgusted, and decide not to get food there. So when I found out that Buc'ee's had opened on 290 I was happy that I knew where my half-way point was and it came none too soon based on how much coffee I drank to be mildly half-awake that early in the morning. This is a small Buc-ees compared to like every other one I have ever been to, even the one on 96 and the one near Lake Jackson. There were a handful of gas pumps, all parking spaces outside were full, and I ended up parking in the rear of the store which I think was probably employee-only parking but the car is already marked as mine, so I had to stow it somewhere so I could get inside quickly. The restroom is just as correspondingly small as the rest of the station. There were a handful of urinals and only two sink holes. Two people is a full house washing their hands - though I was the only one actually washing my hands. Which explains the conditions at the local Sonic pretty well that cleanliness is very optional. But at least with only two sink holes, you shouldn't really need to wait long to be able to wash your hands. Which is a big difference from the other Buc'ees where there is a huge bank of hand washing holes with the fancy water sprayer system thingy like in Luling. This early in the morning they were tidying up and the woman sweeping the floor was also doubling as the Walmart-type greeter. She was very nice and pleasant and wished me a good day as I went back out into the cold. So customer service is on par even that early in the morning when things are busy. Bucees is the shit! My husband and I used to live in Austin, but our family was in Houston, so we drove through the bright lights of that big city Giddings about a thousand times. We ALWAYS stopped at this place; it is amazing. It is the best gas station and convenience store in the whole entire world. I would willingly take a nap in their lovely bathrooms, which, believe it or not, have full length doors. What is this, Europe?? No, it's a fabulous convenience store in Giddings, home of the Buffaloes! They have a million of these fabulous European stalls, tons of purell and soap and cleanliness. They also have all these fabulous little baked goods, nuts, chips, bread that is Bucees brand. I mean, Bucees even has a group page on Facebook, so you know its greatness is for serious. This one time we made a mistake of not stopping at Bucees but at another gas station in Giddings, and we witnessed lots of anger and fighting. We learned our lesson, and never strayed from Happy-town Bucees ever again. read more

All of their locations are amazing and they really make sure that all the employees are trained thoroughly before they are actually put to work. What does this mean? This means that you don't have mass confusion when you ask them something or ask for their opinion on an item that Buc-ee's sells! They have a million pumps so you never have to wait for a gas pump to free up and they also have ample parking. I love Buc-ee's. read more

Beaver Nuggets are my weakness. Ignoring Candy Bar Lane, skipping Beef Jerky Boulevard and even Candied Pecan Pass, I head directly for my Beaver Nuggets. Purchase a Buc-ee's mug and get a small discount on coffee, soda and other beverages. Bathrooms are so-so on the Buc-ee's scale of perfection, I found Luling's to be the most pristine, but a bathroom is a bathroom. I always find a reason to be on another pilgrimage to Buc-ee's. Grab some banana bread, beaver nuggets, turkey jerky, a full 54oz of refreshing drink and hit the road. You're good til the next one! read more

This is the smallest Buc-ee's in the world, I think, but I love it. Small but easy to get in and out. Only two stalls in the men's room, but clean as usual. Great place to stop and top off your gas, get a snack, use the toilet. Avoid all the other stations and support this "Texas original" experience. read more

Snack shop Buccee's is the smallest Bucc-ee location I have been too, but still large on customer service, cleanliness, and fresh Jerky bar. It is stocked with the basic essentials, and has plenty of ice machines outside. It looks like they were in the process of repairing the lighting over the gas pumps as it was a bit dim. read more

Buc-ee's offers decently priced gasoline, hordes of delicious snacks that make great road food and some of the most nicely appointed bathrooms you will find in the state. Their coffee is always hot and fresh in case you need to pep up to continue your drive. Be forewarned, this place gets horribly busy on the weekends. It can be a trial to get in to get gas and there may be a line to check out with your precious load of road food. The large buc-ee's on the highway have the largest variety of snacks and drinks one can find on the road. Many have fresh bbq sandwiches and full deli. Many serve real fruit kolashes. Yes, they do have the cleanest bathrooms bar none. There is also no shortage of Buc-ee paraphernalia embossed with Buc-ee himself. The only drawback is there is no indoor seating and they can be pricey depending on what you are looking for. read more

The building is noticeably older and it's not as spotlessly clean as other Buc-ee's, but these are minor details. Aside from its size, which limits the amount of goods it can carry, the bathrooms are clean, their customer service is great, and the assortment of snacks (e.g., beef jerky, nuts, chips, candies, ice cream, sausage wraps, jarred salsa, pickled veggies) and beverages (e.g., same great teas, coffee, icee, sodas) are plenty. Being a northerner I have never heard of Buc-ee's until we stopped there for fuel and a break on our way back to Austin from New Orleans. From the very beginning I was impressed. The bathroom was very clean and there was an employee who was in there cleaning. It was very nicely decorated with some country pictures on the wall in nice frames. The aisles are very organized, well lit, and things are easy to find. This convenience store is very well maintained and clean. The employees wear matching uniforms and look professional. It only gets four stars because there is not one in Austin. :-( read more

I have stopped at this Buc-ee's location many times over the last decade on my trips back and forth from Austin to Houston. I have never had an issue until Tues. night this week (11-8-22). I filled up with gas and then went inside to use the restroom. I couldn't see around the wall of the men's room, but I could tell that a couple employees were cleaning it and I wasn't sure if it was open for use. I called out and asked if it was open, but I got no response. I asked again, but I could not tell if they heard me. I then went in around the wall to enter and said hello...is the restroom open? The one employee, Trever (according to his name tag) said "I said yes three times". I simply said oh, okay...sorry I couldn't hear you! He then said to me "you should learn to listen"! I was pretty stunned at his smart-aleck response, so I said excuse me? Is that how you speak to customers? He said..."well, that is how I am speaking to you"! As I was using the urinal, I asked him if his manager was available. He said he was the manager, but his tag said "Night Manager". I then asked him the name of the main manager, and he wouldn't answer. I asked if he was now the one hard of hearing and he said "Yes, I am not listening". I told him that he had a bad attitude and that I would get in touch with the main store manager the next morning. He continued to argue and escalate the situation. I knew he just wanted to be a smart-aleck, so as I was leaving, I stopped at the register and asked another employee if he had the name of the manager and a contact phone number. He said her name was Marsha, but he told me I would have to go to the website to contact corporate. I did just that and also tried to call their main number for customer service. All it does is continuously go to a voicemail with a message saying no one is available to take my call. I am very surprised that a company of that size does not have a simple way to contact customer service regarding issues with a store employee. I am guessing that Trever has figured out that he can get away with speaking to customers however he wants without getting into trouble. Obviously, the company is far too arrogant to care about customer service or they would make it easier to report issues! I know they don't care, but I will never spend another cent in one of their stores and I imagine that Trever will continue p!$$ing off customers until he is finally discovered to be a reason that long-time customers have decided to shop elsewhere! Trever certainly ruined my night with his lack of customer service training and he definitely ruined my birthday as well! read more

If you are driving from Houston to Austin or vice versa. Don't bother any where else unless you basically HAVE to stop. Bathrooms are amazing. They smell delicious. That's weird. It's almost too perfect. The floors are ALWAYS being cleaned when I go in here. There is a huge parking lot which is nice because I can park by the road and walk my dog when we have had him in the car for 3 hours. The snacks and candy and jerky are all awesome. Buc-ee's huge, toothy beaver is such a comforting sight for weary eyes on the highways of Texas. The original Buc-ee's is in my hometown so I'm no stranger to the Beaver love, but I never really knew how infamous the Beav' was! I see people all over the state sporting their mascot on their bumpers, t-shirts, hats... if you can't make it to Buc-ee's on a regular basis, you can at least give them a bit of free advertising which is very well deserved. Besides, who doesn't enjoy a campy beaver joke? Well, maybe grandma- but you don't have to get her anything. The bathrooms at every Buc-ee's I've visited are easily the most pleasant experience of any gas station bathroom in existence. This Buc-ee's is no exception. By no means the largest Buc-ee's, the one in Giddings is a great stopping point between Houston and Austin. Their branded jerky is delicious, but pricey. Store baked muffins, donuts, kolaches, and cookies are all great when they're fresh - which is mostly in the mornings. This Buc-ee's doesn't have near the extensive selection of Buc-ee's branded/bagged treats that the one on I-10 does, but you can still get your Beaver Nugget on. Attendants are always pleasant, the store is always cold and refreshing. The parking lot can get crazy busy and full of travellers so drive carefully. There are only 4 stalls in the girls restroom and when I was in there, the worker tried to go into the stall while I was there. Thank goodness there is a lock on the door that works. Then, I tried to wash my hands and the lady was busy cleaning the counter and there is only two sinks. Cleaning the counter needs to wait. She is just going to have to clean it again after I leave. Great place to pee and that is all. Not nearly as large nor as extravagent as the other buc-ees on 71 or heading into dallas. It seems as though this was just a gas station that turned into a buc-ees, but rest assured, they are building a LARGER one in Waller texas. Not too happy with my experience here at this bucees. I was running late for work which is an hour away went to check out. an employee in their work uniform jumped in front of me. Yes, I made it clear I was upset the lady checking here out , and the girl who jumped in front of me laughed. I then waited while they talked about their work place. Not very nice either, then finally another girl walked over n said I can help u over here. She was in a group of other workers just talking to each other.
