Buc-ee's now operates in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and others, with expansions planned in North Carolina, Kansas and Wisconsin. If you live near one of those places, or you are going to be driving past one, you'll be thankful. Buc-ee's is an institution. Founded in 1982, they're known for being an absolutely MASSIVE gas station. And so much more. Fresh brisket and pulled pork, fudge, jerky (beef, turkey and others), snacks, drinks, coffee and probably the cleanest restrooms you will find on the interstate. Browse the decor area where you'll find signs, towels, t-shirts, bathing suits, candles, kitchenware and just way too many things to list. Buc-ee's always localizes so in Texas, you'll find Texas things. In Alabama, Ala-Buc-ee-bama. It's a thing. The Buc-es's in Sevierville near Dollywood, is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest gas station in the world. It's insane. If you haven't been to a Buc-ee's, find one. If you have been to one, you know what I'm talking about. Get some Beaver Nuggets! [Review 955 of 2024 - 654 in Texas - 21983 overall]

I didn't get a receipt and walked out to my truck and the display said "prepaid credit price". I went inside and told the clerk that the pump is saying credit price and I paid cash. He starts pretending to not speak English and gives a blank stare. I said again I paid cash and the pump is saying credit price. He says, "yes pump is ready. Go pump the gas". I said it is saying credit price and I paid with cash. He still doubled down with the no speaking English. I then asked for a receipt and he looks shifty and says he can't give a receipt. I said "GIVE ME MY RECEIPT" and he said I have to finish pumping and he'll have a receipt. If I would have done that it would have charged the extra credit fee and nothing I could have done abou. I told him give me my money back. Again with the blank stare. He knew what he was doing is wrong and doubled then tripled down. I took my money and went to Circle K and paid the credit price. If he would have apologized I would have laughed it off and be like no worries. Can we redo the transaction for cash? And all would have been well. Makes me mad to get off work and go get scammed for a few dollars. They'll never see another dollar from me.

My how standards have fallen. When I was growing up, in a pre-mega-Buc-ee's era, this place was…read moreTHE gas station in Lake Jackson. It had a Wall Street Deli, a TCBY, a Tunnel Wash, and FOUR regular car washes. Everyone came here to get their car washed and life was a fairy tale. The service WAS great, the place WAS clean, and all was right with the world. Wow, this place was amazing. Fast forward to today. This place is a toilet. There's no other way to describe it. Apparently, once Buc-ee's built their gigantic station on Plantation with their superior car wash, this place fell on hard times. First it lost the Texaco franchise and they turned it into "Brazoria's Best Market" and then it got sold to the current clowns who own it, some outfit out of Houston, it became a Shell station and a model for how not to run a gas station The tunnel wash is now closed and there are printed out (like someone with Word and a laser printer) signs on the pumps advertising "Tunnel Wash for Rent." Two out of the four regular washes are closed down and they use those two for STORAGE. You can see the staff walking over to the closed down washes to get stuff out of there. Shameful! The place is filthy. It's like they never clean it. Whoever owns this place has no sense of cleanliness whatsoever. The friendly people who used to run this place are LONG gone. Pumps are regularly out of service and the grocery bag on 2-3 pumps is a regular occurrence. The worst part? The absolute HIGHEST gas prices in Lake Jackson. As I write this, the gas prices at Valero Corner Store, H-E-B, Chevron, and the Exxon on Oyster Creek Drive, are all at 1.80 a gallon. This place? $2.40 a gallon. It's an absolute joke. It's like these clowns think people will pay $0.60 extra a gallon just because it's the last station before Brazoria. I think not! Premium is still nearly $4/gallon today! the gas prices have tanked, folks. Premium is a full $1 cheaper half a mile away! Who seriously buys gas here unless someone else is paying for it? This station was closed for a while when they were finding new owners. I wouldn't mind if they closed it again, permanently. This place adds nothing to the area, has rude, hateful employees, and charges way too much. I pray that this place finds a new direction or finally shuts down for good. This place is a downright embarrassment to Shell and doesn't deserve to fly that flag.
