We had our wedding at Legacy Ranch Event Center this past weekend, and while there were things we…read moreabsolutely loved about the venue, there were also several concerns throughout the planning process and wedding weekend that we feel future couples should be aware of. First, we want to start by saying that we absolutely loved the look and atmosphere of the venue. One of the biggest reasons we chose Legacy Ranch was because it was located back home, which meant so much to us. We live in the Kansas City area, and choosing to travel back home for our wedding was intentional. We wanted to support a small local business and celebrate such an important moment in a place that felt meaningful to us. The venue itself is beautiful and has so much potential. Throughout our time communicating with the owners starting back in early 2025, however, communication was not always consistent. There were times when information changed or communication was unclear, which made the planning process more stressful than we expected. We were also asked on multiple occasions to make payments ahead of the dates outlined in our contract. We were offered discounts for paying early, which initially seemed like a nice incentive. However, having payments requested significantly earlier than the contracted dates did leave us with questions and concerns about why the money was needed so quickly. When our wedding weekend arrived, we encountered additional issues. We knew going into the weekend that the temperature could potentially be a challenge, as the weather was extremely hot. Unfortunately, the venue was extremely hot throughout the weekend, including areas where our wedding party and guests were spending significant amounts of time. We understand that extreme weather can create challenges and that not every circumstance is within a venue's control, but the overall experience was still difficult. When we arrived at the venue on Friday to begin setting up, we discovered that we were missing tables and chairs that were specifically included in our contract. We had to wait an extended period of time for the venue owners to gain access to additional tables and chairs so that we could continue setting up. Along with the missing tables and chairs, we also had to wait an extended period of time for our tablecloths. During the planning process, we had previously discussed the tablecloth order and expectations, but the orders had not been submitted appropriately as the venue had some personal business challenges happening prior to our wedding weekend. As a result, we were left waiting for the tables, chairs, & tablecloths during a time when we should have been focused on setting up and preparing for our wedding. When we did get access to the correct tables we had to clean off all the tables and chairs as they were covered in dust and very sticky. This added another layer of unnecessary stress to an already very busy day. We want to be clear that we are not saying Legacy Ranch is a bad venue. Quite the opposite -- the venue itself is beautiful, and that is a large part of why we chose it. We absolutely love having an outdoor ceremony on their property. And we absolutely love being able to stay in the lodge over night making it easy for our wedding party. One of our favorite things about The Venue was having the bridal suite and guy's cabin right there on their property as well so that we could get ready on the day of our wedding. We also genuinely wanted to support a small local business, which made the experience even more meaningful to us. However, when you are investing a significant amount of money and planning one of the most important days of your life, communication, organization, and follow-through are extremely important. Items that are specifically discussed during planning and included in a contract should be ready and available when the couple arrives for their wedding weekend. We hope the owners take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to improve the experience for future couples. Our wedding day itself was incredibly special because of the people we had surrounding us, and we will always be grateful for the memories we made. At the same time, we believe future couples deserve to have an honest picture of both the beautiful aspects of this venue and the challenges we experienced during our planning process and wedding weekend.

They spent lots of time answering my questions and putting me at ease as I was planning this from out of town. At the last minute we had to change wedding venues and couldn't get in anywhere. Drew said no problem our banquet room is open all day you can have the Wedding here. They set up the room beautifully even creating me an aisle to walk down. Alex provided amazing service. It was a beautiful night. I can't thank them enough. And the food was amazing!
