Our first meeting was just discussing different options. My husband and I did not have any preconceived notions and in fact, had little idea of the costs. Carol was really patient and we actually spent two hours with her as she went on the computer and we saw option after option and prices on a 65" TV (I'm guessing but it looked large). We left with a folder and had things to discuss between each other and with our children. ( Do not be surprised if your children do not want to talk about this subject at all!) After we had made some initial decisions, Carol set up an appointment for us to meet with Lloyd at Raleigh Memorial Gardens to discuss internment. we both felt that we were not rushed or pressured into anything. Now, in July 2026, our family is once again trying to complete the process and order the grave marker for my parents. During our recent conversations, Michelle offered several explanations, including that our paperwork had "gone to the bottom of the pile." Given that your staff works with families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, that response felt both insensitive and unprofessional. Families who are grieving deserve compassion, clear communication, and confidence that important details are being handled with care. My hope is that this experience will lead to a review of your office's operating procedures to ensure paperwork is properly tracked and families are kept informed. I also encourage additional customer service and sensitivity training for staff so that grieving families receive the empathy and professionalism they deserve.

Tours start at 6:30 and a $10 donation per person is suggested. I have been on many of their tours and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I love hearing the rich history of the people and of Raleigh. The tour guides do an excellent job of keeping memories alive of those who have departed.
