For those who don't know crossfit, it's a sport based on fitness optimisation (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity, according to its founders). Crossit W950 perfectly incorporates these values and proposes great workouts with competent and friendly coaches. Rates are not the cheapest of all; probably a bit higher than a basic gym but cheaper than a fancy one (€950 for a year, unlimited). What I really like about the place is the community of people (when you're a regular you start knowing everyone), the spirit of going beyond your limits and this feeling of being part of a team, even if you usually don't work in teams (except Saturdays for the team workout). Also, girls, don't be scared of going, this place is packed with chicks.

Great box but alas I think it's a victim of its own success…read more I joined over 2 weeks ago and until today I have been unable to book a single Fundamentals class. All those classes are overbooked and the waiting lists are long. At this rate I will be taking one Crossfit class a month - something that kind of defeats the purpose of regular training. I have sent email to the box asking for their help and I have not received a reply. I will give it a few more days but if I cannot book another class for the next 2 weeks then I am going to go elsewhere.

If you find yourself in Brussels, I recommend that you catch a game here at the stadium, which is one of the better ones in this not-very-big country. The stadium holds just over 28,000 fans but a few thousand less for European games. Anderlecht played in the Champions this season and are often in the Europa League. The stadium opened way back in 1917 but had been renovated in the 1980s and is very modern today. One problem is parking. The place has no parking for fans so you have to park on the streets. The Anderlecht city council takes advantage of this and tend to hand out tickets for illegal parking, which the car owner doesn't know is illegal. I parked a dozen blocks or so from the stadium one time (I have been there 25+ times for games), looked around and saw that the other cars had no parking permits or paid tickets, nor did I see a machine to pay for parking. When I got back, yep, I had a ticket. In this case, if you drive, the best bet is to park at the shopping center that is about a 10 minute walk from the stadium. There is plenty of parking there and the cars are safe. There is also a nearby metro line.
