This has got to be the best Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in (and i've eaten lots of Italian food).
I first visited Bruno's early last year and have been dozens and dozens of times since. The restaurant itself has a bit of an 'old school' traditional feel to it. There is a separate bar area to the main restaurant where you can sit pre-meal or while waiting on a take away.
The main restaurant has probably about 20 tables and is well laid out to create a good balance between atmosphere and intimacy. The tables are always immaculate and well laid out. Now to be honest, if you just looked at this place you would probably not guess just how good it is. However, after falling in love with the food, you will come to love the atmosphere and surroundings.
The food in Bruno's is what sets it aside from other Italian's i've visited. It's just perfect - every single time. I have never had a meal there which has been any better or worse than the last, it is always great. I have a limited diet so always order the same (panzanelle with a tomato and chilli dip for starter and penne napolitana for main). However, I have eaten there with my other half, friends and family and everyone raves about it. I hear that the mozzarella foccacia is something special and my other half always makes funny noises when he eats the Tiramisu!
As well as having phenomenal food, Bruno's also has the best service I have ever experienced. Now, I don't frequent posh restaurants so this might be why. But, to me it would be hard to beat. There are two waiters which seem to always be on duty and they are great at what they do. Extremely polite, professional and of a standard I would expect in any top restaurant. In fact, i've heard that the older waiter has waited on Prince Charles - surely that must say something.
Bruno's is my favorite restaurant and I can't see that ever changing. read more
