I wasted my 1 hour today and came back without any diagnosis or help from the doctor. When I took…read morethe appointment, I had labwork done through a wellness program of my employer. The front office gave me the appointment and asked me to get the reports. I took off from work go there with reports on time, forms are filled, insurance etc taken. I am asked to step in to meet the doctor, as soon as she sees me she says I don't know which doctor ordered these tests for you so everything needs to be done again if you want us to treat you. Also for new patients the fee is $160 which I was asked to pay. I am diabetic looking for treatment as soon as possible and was expecting diagnosis and treatment today specially because nothing such was told to me while making the appointment. Why waste someone's time I could have gone to some other doctor instead. I told her the bloodwork was done by Quest, still she stuck to the point that she does not know if it was. How difficult can it be for a doc to call the lab and ask. Whatever their policy is - she should have atleast apologized for wasting people's time especially when they are seeking care sooner. She is far from nice when talking to patients.

Physical exams are covered by most insurance plans as annual routine check ups. When I arrived at…read moreDr. Fernando's office, however, I was told that the exam would be split into two and that I needed to pay $130 out of pocket for the first visit. This is an extortive policy that can prevent patients like me from accessing our benefits. The reason I was given is that they "needed to get to know me," but physical exams are typically an hour long, which is plenty of time for new patients to introduce themselves to their doctors. They also mentioned blood work being drawn in the first visit and only explained in the second visit. This, however, did not apply to my case because I have lab and urine tests done already. It is also possible to do the lab tests during the physical exam, as many practices do, and follow up by phone or email to comment on the results. When I objected to the $130 charge, a tall man came to me to condescendingly (and aggressively) tell me that "they were private" and that "this is how we do things." I said that the policy seemed unreasonable and extortive from my perspective and he said that "this is a business, like a restaurant, and you can go somewhere else." After leaving the practice, I made a couple of calls and I managed to get an appointment for a proper physical, with no extra charge, just around the corner in Plainsboro.

Completely disgusting and appalled by what my wife experienced with Dr. Sass - please read about…read moreher experience with him: For those of you who are frustrated with the US healthcare system, and my fellow cancer fighting / mental illness fighting friends, this actually happened to me today. I've never felt so humiliated/angry/frustrated with a doctor. Since I have moved, I was trying to find a new primary care doctor nearby. Due to insurance issues (don't get me started on that), I need a new psychiatrist and meanwhile needed my psych meds refilled from a primary doc. My old primary doc in Philadelphia always did that with no issue. Also had a few minor health concerns I wanted to mention. I found a doc, set up an appointment for today. They said all new patients have to have a physical. I was fine with that. I had all of my medical records sent over from my primary doc in Philadelphia. I fasted from midnight as they requested in prep for the bloodwork. They took a urine sample, took 4 vials of blood (couldn't find a vein and poked me like 5 times), did an EKG, checked blood pressure. I filled out a load of paperwork. Then I waited. And waited. And waited to see the doctor. In a freezing cold room in a tiny hospital gown. About an hour later, he appears and tells me that he has a large practice and he can pick and choose patients, he doesn't have to take on new patients. He tells me he read through my "56 pages of medical records" and that I'm too "medically complicated" for him to take on as a new patient, due to my cancer history and my history of mental illness. He then goes even further by telling me he can't prescribe me any of my meds because I'm on "too many medications", and that taking me on as a patient would be too much of a legal risk for him. He said he didn't want to be held legally liable for prescribing me my meds or for taking me on as a patient. At this point, I was near tears. It felt like being rejected at a job interview! I asked him what he was going to do with my 4 vials of blood and urine sample and he said they will be discarding the samples and not running any of the lab tests. I'm ready to just go back to my doc in Philadelphia, it's worth the hour drive to me at this point. I wasted an entire morning on this appointment. Hours of my day, gone. Has anyone ever had such an experience of being rejected by a doctor for being too complicated/too much of a legal risk? I need to call tomorrow to make sure I'm not going to be billed for that useless appointment. The whole experience was so deflating.

The receptionist suggested I go to the ER and pay out-of-pocket costs to be treated for a SINUS INFECTION. I ended up going to an urgent care center, eating the costs of the visit since they were not in-network, but was instructed to follow up with my PCP if I did not fully improve. I called Dr. Buddala's office again today and was told that she didn't have any available appointments until APRIL. THIS IS LITERALLY 5 MONTHS FROM THE TIME OF MY INITIAL CALL!!! I did not choose this doctor but unfortunately, this is who I am stuck with due to her being in-network with my insurance. This practice needs to be reported to the State Board of Medical Examiners for failure to provide timely, appropriate and adequate patient care.
