No exaggeration, every single time I walk through the doors of this Bruchi's location I am met with snarky and rude attitudes from each employee that I interact with, it never fails. I typically brush it off, but today's short but memorable interaction was certainly the icing on the cake. The employees name was Brittany, and she made it very apparent she either does not enjoy her day-job or maybe she just doesn't like men? Who knows. Not only was I not greeted when I walked in, as Brittany stood behind the register staring directly at me, but she also seemed extremely annoyed at the fact that I was there and that she had to help me. "What do you need?" was the first thing out of her mouth in my direction, said in a very monotonous tone. As I start to explain to her why I am there I can tell by the look on her face that she is clearly not interested in what I have to say. She turns around, without acknowledging that she had heard anything I said, and starts talking to another person working behind the counter. I really do not think that my standards are too high, nor that I require spectacular customer service when I go places, but in that situation a simple "alright, I'll be right back with that" or simply a "no problem" would have sufficed. A few minutes go by, I see her walking towards me without any sense of urgency whatsoever, and proceeds to toss the sandwich down on the counter like a bean bag in a game of corn-hole. Brittany then says something along the lines of "here you go", and then immediately turns her back towards me. I don't expect a red carpet to be laid out once I arrive, or an applause on my way out, but good lord, have some respect for the customers that keep your business afloat. Especially in a financial environment such as this, where people are losing their jobs left and right all over America. Millions of people that are stuck with no job, no solid way to provide for their family, they would do anything to be able to have your job, allowing them to put food on the table for their children. "Thank you, have a wonderful day!" might work? Maybe even a "see ya later!". But no, I am treated like scum. I decide at that point that I am not going to say anything about it. I told myself to just be the bigger person and get out of there. So, I take my food out to my car and DANGIT... I realized that I didn't get her name. So, I head back in. Again, walking through the doors the first thing I see is her staring directly at me, but this time she has a look of disgust on her face. I literally cannot make this stuff up. I swear, if it wasn't grounds for termination (well maybe its not at a place that is run like this) I would bet any amount of money that in that moment she would have said "what the hell do you want now?". I walk towards the counter, we are making eye contact the entire way, but she still says nothing. She keeps the same annoyed facial expression on, and stays quiet. I actually test the waters while staring back at her, waiting and waiting, to see if she would actually ask me what else I needed or perhaps she'd ask if I had forgotten something? Anything? She didn't, so I broke the silence. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name, earlier...", to which she responds with bit of hesitation "uhhm Brittany?" which was sort of phrased as a question mixed with a passive aggressive chuckle. I give her a smile and a double thumbs up, and then gladly walk out of there.
I refuse to ever step foot inside of this Bruchi's ever again, heck, maybe all Bruchi's around Spokane. This isn't the only location that I have received terrible customer service at over the years. The E 29th Ave location on the South Hill always has younger kids working that seem to think they're too cool to treat their customers nicely. I also almost always walk out of there disappointed, but not nearly as often as the North Division location. If it were up to me, I would replace that with a Popeyes or a chick-fil-a! Never in my life have I been treated poorly at one of those restaurants. Not once. What a shame. read more
