Dr. Sperlich is awesome. She takes the time yet is still efficient, educates her patient's parents and really knows her stuff! It's all because of her that my pup is feeling better! I've always been interested in staying healthy as naturally as possible. I do that for myself and also for my dog! He was healthy until he wasn't and that's when I knew I needed to look up a TCM & acupuncture doc! I went straight to the TCM DVM website to look up a provider. She got excellent reviews and was one of the only docs I could find in the area that is both certified in TCM AND acupuncture, exactly what I needed! So far, I am VERY happy I did. She's always in a welcoming and pleasant mood, which helps me and my pet feel safe in her hands. I trust her judgement with care for my dog and I make the 30 minute drive with pleasure to see her! My dog comes to see her for acupuncture for his arthritis and for his kidney & spleen chi as well as for treating him for his kidney values that have been a bit off lately aaaaaand for dietary advice! I want to keep him on a diet that is conducive to his current health that promotes his goals of optimal wellbeing for his age. I love that she is very moderate when it comes to utilizing western medicine when needed and coupling with TCM and acupuncture for optimal results! My pup was feeling like crap when we initially visited Dr. Sperlich. We found out he was having issues at his western medicine provider (that is convenient and close to our home) however, since we started seeing Dr. Sperlich, he's improved dramatically! He's feeling more like himself, more energy, more sass and lots of attention seeking, haha! I am SO happy to see him feeling more like himself! Prices are not cheap, but, the prices reflect the care! I took my 4 year old, and 11 week Dachshunds to her, we moved I to the area recently, and I couldn't be more please. She came out to the parking lot and talked to me for a good 15 minutes about my babies. I would say she is a small clinic that is worth the drive (30 minutes), attention and love to her clients. I usually take my pets to a different vet, but they were swamped due to the pandemic. So I took my pet here for a teeth cleaning. The attendants were polite, the vet seemed competent, and all went well. My baby needed some extractions, and the cost per tooth was about 25% of the cost at my usual vet. So kudos for reasonable pricing. They prescribed antibiotics for the teeth extractions. After about 10 days of taking the antibiotics, my baby developed severe hives all over her tummy. Suspecting an allergy to the medication, I called the vet but they didn't answer, so I left a detailed message, but never got a call back. I ended up taking my baby into the ER where she was prescribed a steroid and antihistamines. Wish the vet would have called me back. Never heard from them. read more

I have been taking my bunny, Koucha, to see Dr. Sperlich for her annual bun physicals for the past 5 years now. Each time, I am satisfied and happy. I feel Dr. Sperlich is extremely thorough with the bunny body examination, and as always she is very kind and knowledgeable. She always gives great suggestions and I always follow what she has to say as I feel she has the best in mind for my companion. The staff is completely wonderful and easy to converse with. I have always had a good experience at BPV! Dr. S can be hard to get into, but for good reason. She's amazing at what she does and is passionate about animals. I've been bringing my small dogs to this vet clinic for nearly 5 years. The allure was Dr. Sperlich who has experience in alternative medicine and offers a holistic approach to veterinary medicine. I chose this clinic because I refuse to over-vaccinate my pets and this decision has always been supported by Dr. Sperlich. There is A TON of research on why dogs should NOT receive routine vaccinations as often as conventional vets push them. But just like holistic health for humans, alternative modalities for pets are scoffed at and overlooked because Americans love pharmaceuticals. Today I was told that my pets needed to either receive a rabies vaccine or I would have to buy an expensive titer to prove their immunity in order to continue getting their nails trimmed and anal glands expressed. This conversation always seems to arise despite me telling them that I'm not going to vaccinate my pets or buy a titer to prove anything. This was not a problem while Dr. Sperlich was working full time. However, Dr. Sperlich is scaling back her practice and has hired new veterinarians to eventually take her place. These veterinarians DO NOT practice holistic care. The last few times I've been in, Janet has been a complete b¡+@#. She's always angry and moody, and she seems inconvenienced by the world. I hate calling when she's there because she's snarky and rude. All the usual techs are gone, and they're still not allowing people inside. Why can't I go inside with my pet? Would you drop your child off to a stranger outside of a hospital and hope they get the care they need behind closed doors? Good grief. This place is a joke. Instead of a yin-yang symbol by their name, they should put an icon of a syringe because they don't practice anything that yin and yang stand for. Yes, it's a very small clinic with only three support staff members, so book an appointment early! Update: I wanted to come in an edit my review for others to hopefully get a better idea of this amazing clinic! Dr. Sperlich is a holistic vet, which may appeal to some folks. She can recommend Chinese medicine, food therapy, and perform acupuncture for your fuzzy loved one! Typically a new patient would need an hour appointment if interested in these treatments, because it is a full consultation with Dr. Sperlich. As a small clinic, they are unable to accommodate emergency appointments. Specialty hospitals are far better equipped to provide excellent, urgent care for those pet emergencies that just can't wait. A family practice doctor for humans cannot usually see you for an emergency, it is unfair to expect a primary care veterinarian to do this either. The care offered at Browns Point Veterinary Clinic is always loving, patient, accommodating, and personal. My critters love Tom and Sharla (even when the dreaded nail trim comes around!) and every vet that works there. They would never push anyone to spend excessive money on needless treatments. I have brought my cat, and two ferrets to this wonderful clinic based on a recommendation from Next to Nature. The staff as a whole is just so sweet and friendly. At times you can walk into a vet clinic and it can feel very cold, but this place is very warm and inviting. We took our ferret to this clinic for a second opinion. Our first vet did not listen to any of our questions and charged us $100+ with a 5 minute look-over and no results. This vet spent 30+ minutes with us going over every question, every possiblilty and gave us the necessary medication for free! And an extra dose for our other ferret for free as well! Very reasonable in cost, and so knowledgable. I have found my forever vet! :) I take away one star only because the medication provided was only a temporary fix and did not completely solve our problem. Similar with our cat, an oral medication did not completely remove the infection - a shot would've been more effective, but I can see that the vet would like to take the least invasive way in treatment, and I know that if I call and discuss these issues, they would give me the resolution I was looking for! Also, I think she suggested the oral medication to save us a drive to her location, which was so nice of her. She personally called a Rite Aid, so that we could pick up our cat's medication right next to our house for a whooping $10. read more

I've come here for my cat who has hyperthyroidism. My regular Vet (whom I love) gave him his regular medication. But he was still struggling with his weight. So I brought him here. The Vet is so awesome!!!!! I live all the way in Puyallup but it's so worth the drive! The initial visit is pricey BUT- the cost is more than made up for with the next visits, medication costs and she takes so much time explaining things to me. Which I appreciate so much. The results are great. He's finally gaining weight. When the Dr. called me with the blood work results she was actually very excited. They really care and give the quality time that I wish my own doctors gave lol. I will take all of my pets here when my standard vet care isn't cutting it. Took one of my cats in to this vet for the first time today at the recommendation of an employee at the Next to Nature pet supply store (another business I highly recommend). I was very impressed with the amount of time and attention the doctor spent with my cat. So often nowadays I find that vets come in, look at the cat for 10 minutes and then ask for their money and say see ya next year as a best case scenario, worst case where they recommend unnecessary procedures just to make money. Not the case with this vet who seems genuinely interested in making your animal healthier and offers very reasonably priced care. Interestingly enough though, I suspect that if I do everything that was recommended, that my cat may end up leading a healthier life style than I do. read more

Dr Sperlich is a great doctor. She explains everything as she is doing it. As in, she is very thorough with her examinations. She is a good listener and sticks to answering your concerns. She makes a great effort to explain her findings. I'm very connected in my animals' care so maybe I just "get" her but she can handle any situation. She is not only a regular vet but a skilled surgeon, and also she is geared toward naturopathy and ACUPUNCTURE for pets. There are not many vets that are skilled in that aspect in the Greater Puget Sound area, so it is a boon to find her. read more

We live in the Browns Point area and we are definitely fortunate enough to have a local vet office and clinic in the neighborhood. As a physician, I am in the profession of patient care and seeing my dog as like my kid, I definitely want excellent care from a provider. I am completely happy that Dr. Sperlich is such a wonderful vet. She definitely treat her patients as if they were her own pets and provide for an enjoyable primary care experience. My dog needed his rabies shot and she quickly immunized him with efficiency and finesse...I thought he'd be yelping and making a dramatic scene about it but it was an incident free moment. Also I love that she is quite holistic with her practice and advertises naturopathic treatments as well as acupuncture for pets. Granted I do have my limit when it comes to complementary medicine (ie the acupuncture), I do appreciate that she does provide those options to pet owners who feel that it may help their pet. We're lucky enough to have a well behaved healthy dog, but I know there are pet owners out there who have older pets or those with multiple medical problems who probably swear by these treatments so props to Dr. Sperlich and the services she provides. It seems like she does it for the love of her profession rather than just to scam owners of their money. There's many yelp reviews of vet clinic and pet hospitals on here in the South Sound area that are horror stories and/or very negative reviews so I'm glad to see the Browns Point Vet Clinic has excellent reviews. read more

I wish I had found this clinic a long time ago. I have been taking my cats there for about a year and can't imagine taking them anywhere else. Kind, caring people work there, and I haven't seen any staff turnover, which is a sign of a good practice. I have never been overcharged, which is very refreshing. The fact that it's a small practice makes it comfortable for my cats and me, and the fact that my cats actually like it there is profound. Dr. Sperlich might be some kind of benevolent wizard (and she actually listens!). If you don't believe in acupuncture or you're curious about it, watch even the grouchiest or most nervous of cats melt into a state of bliss under its influence. But even without the option of acupuncture I would still love this clinic. read more

I cannot recommend Brown's Point Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Sperlich more! She has always been fantastic with our Boston Terrier, Felix, as he has had numerous bouts of allergies and other issues. This week, our Border Collie, Bandit, came down with a very high fever, swelling and was not in great shape. We initially brought her to the e Vet as the Clinic was not open yet, but Dr. Sperlich and her Staff called us same day to get her in the following day for a check-up. Dr. Sperlich and her Staff spent over two hours with us at the Clinic walking through possible issues and have called us twice a day since to make sure she's on the mend. Despite the time she spent with us the bill was very nominal when we left. We always appreciate Dr. Sperlich and her Staff, their willingness to help and that they aren't out to take you and your pet for a ride. The alternative approaches to healing (our dog is on Chinese Herbs for his allergies - and it works!) are appreciated. read more

Care was good.... I will say that bedside manner could be improved..... Euthanasia conversations should not happen when other patients are waiting.. as that is a delicate subject.. and cannot always be "handled" in 15 mins.. In addition, my cat who was being treated at the clinic.. took a turn for the worst and I had to have him hospitalized.. this was a Thursday ... I received a call from the receptionist on Friday morning as they had been contacted by the emergency vet.. she said she would check back with me on Monday to see how he was doing .. He didn't make it to Monday .. the emergency vet told me that they always notify the regular vet... so they were aware of his death.. I was shocked , and to be honest, I still am. His passing was never acknowledged by anyone at the clinic at all.. no phone call , not even a card.... I was devastated by his death.. I had a very special relationship with this cat.. I have lost animals before both to natural causes and to euthanasia due to disease, and I have never had a veterinary clinic fail to acknowledge the death of a pet ... until now.... I'm glad to see Dr. Sperlich has so many good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with her and her staff has been less than stellar. I won't go into to too much detail, but out of the 4 emergency situations I have experienced with my elderly dog, Dr. Sperlich have been unable to fit us in. Once I was sent to high end vet that charged ridiculous prices and my dog had an eye infection. Two other times I was sent to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital and paid much more money than i would of spent in her office. Currently I have gone to her office twice to cure an ear infection (it is still not healed) and I have to beg to get a n appointment. I like Dr. Sperlich, but she is continually unavailable for my pet. Being a good vet is more than just seeing animals for regularly scheduled check ups. I was so thrilled to have found this clinic, my 6 yr. old dog was presenting with torn tendons and ligaments in both knees, after consults with two other vet clinics, I was told he would need surgery to replace both torn knees, it would cost me $4,600 for the surgery. I was shocked and so sad, and decided to find an alternative to this horrible invasive surgery! The Dr. put Teddy on Jing Tang herbal ligament powder, to this I added, 1 tab of organic flax oil from Barlene's, 1 Move Free joint supplement from Costco, and 1 Ultra Primal Defense cap, and a scoop of Green Dog joint supplement from Rainbow Light, I mix the powders up with a heaping tab of organic peanut butter, push the pills into the mixture and he is more than happy to eat it! I am so happy to report, he is COMPLETELY HEALED!!!!! He can run, jump up on my really tall bed, and plays like a puppy...thank the Lord above for Brown's Point Vet clinic, without them my dog may not be here today!!!!!!! read more

Dr. Sperlich is very good at what she does. I have to bunnies and both have been in to see Dr. S. You can tell she loves her job and is very knowledgeable. She informs of everything she is doing to the animal and why she is doing it. The staff are very nice as well, they love coming in to see and pet the bunnies. I live in Kent and drive here since Dr. S. is certified to treat rabbits. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you have bunnies, not all vets are certified to handle rabbits. read more
