Jered Custom Homes - "after" IT STUNNING!

    Jered Custom Homes

We just finished a build with Jered custom homes and have been in our home since the end February…read more2018. This journey had its ups, downs, lefts and rights. And as we all know building a house isn't the most fun. However, we didn't realize that it was going to be this way. Sadly, at the end of our build, we were left with a good amount of fixing, tweaking, and debate with our builder that would make your head spin. To date we still have not seen resolve on several items and have to deal with the logistics of sub-contractors to fix items in our "new custom home." I use the word custom loosely with regard to Jered custom homes. To us, the word custom lends itself to quality, and unfortunately Jered fell short in that area. The up side is that they are not a production builder and refer you to Steve Shuert architect to create your design. Steve Shuert does not work for Jered custom homes and his esthetic is great. Unfortunately, we feel that our end product is like a Monet. It's great from a distance but when you get up close things become messy. As a consumer when you question or voice concerns to Jered you are met with passive aggressive communication or basically told to shut up. Everyone works hard for their money. Your home is such a personal reflection of you. It's your safe haven and is one of the biggest investments you have. We wish you all well when you decide to build. Our experience with Jered custom homes was plagued by unclear budgets, poor communication, and workmanship that was questionable. It's unfortunate I'm not able to post pictures.

Jered Custom Homebuilders claims no responsibility for the home they built, less than seven years…read moreago, for seven plumbing leaks in a seven year span. Six of these occurred in the past two years; three of these leaks underneath the slab, which costs over 100,000 dollars to repair. They take no responsibility nor offered any help for any of these repairs. The McKinney plumbing city inspector says that there are only three reasons for this to occur: movement of earth, poor quality product, or poor workmanship. After examining the pipes that were supposed to be insulated that passed through concrete beams, we found the insulation to not be according to code, which in my opinion caused these leaks. We are going to litigate. This builder takes no responsibility and shows no care for their homes that they build. If you consider using them just read this letter and re-consider. Isn't it a shame that people don't care about their workmanship anymore or demonstrate pride in what they do? Their slogan "building with pride" certainly is questionable.
